Hi Saphire! I have an eGo mini and I love it, it doesn't last a huge amount of time before it needs recharging (maybe half a day for me) but it's small and cute and perfect for stealth vaping. I was very lucky that hubby quit at the same time I did, but tbh vaping has worked so well for me I don't feel I need a cigarette even when around smokers. But everybody's different - and I really hope you can bring your hubby over to the light side soon.

Thank you everyone for such a lovely warm welcome! I feel quite at home already. To redron: tbh, it really wasn't a difficult start. Falling off a log comes to mind... It was so easy, I'm still waiting for the shoe to drop! I've given up before, using various methods but mostly cold turkey, and all I could think about was ciggies. Smelling an ashtray made me want to smoke. Smelling another smoker made me want to smoke. I had to use every ounce of willpower I had not to go out and buy a pack - and of course ultimately my willpower failed (after days/weeks/months of hell). This time, I haven't wanted a ciggie for longer than a couple of seconds at a time, and only a few times a day. I don't want one at all now, apart from under stress (with a 3 year old that happens fairly frequently lol!). I really can't get over how easy it's been. Re: location - we seem to have done a swap! I used to live in Hampshire, now I live near Worksop! To Sandra: haven't actually done any yet - wait and see what mess I make before being impressed To skwoddy: the sore is more like a not-painful shallow hole in the roof of my mouth now, feels more like a scar. If it's not fading by the weekend I'll be making an appointment with the doc. And I bet I will get into mixing eventually, once I've got some modding under my belt. To millerkev and onedayillquit: If I do it right, the Gothic one will be helping me save money, ninja though he undoubtedly is... although I must admit I do have a yen for modding an antique silver baccy tin or even a matchbox holder if I can find a battery small enough. I love pretty old things, plus the irony is just too delicious for words. There are several on fleabay I'd love to repurpose, but the prices are and it would be a shame to ruin them. I'll start with the pipe and a 3.7 volt box mod and see how it goes before I spend too much (watch this space!) To everyone else: thank you so much for your welcomes, this has to be one of the friendliest places on the interwebnet!

Been wandering around these boards for a couple of weeks now and thought it was time to join in. Hi everyone! (waves)
I'm Dizzi, from North Notts, 42 and married with a 14 (nearly 15) year old son and a 3 year old daughter. Been a smoker since I was 18, tried to give up several times but never managed it for longer than a few months. Cut down the cost if not the harm a couple of years ago by switching from ready mades to RYO using filtered tubes, probably around 18 a day although I never counted. Hubby was on around 40 RYO (papers and menthol filters) a day.
On 28th September this year at 8.30am I smoked what I hope will be my very last cigarette, hubby had his last one at midnight the same day. It's been 3 and a half weeks now since we switched smoking for vaping and neither of us can believe how easy it's been. We've had some minor symptoms since quitting, the worst of which is the sore I've had in my mouth for over 2 weeks now, but nothing too bad yet.
Kit list: 2 Twists (one red, one pink), 3 eGo Q (decorated eGo clones I think), 1 mini eGo in black, 1 SD Keyring and a couple of black JAC Vapour cig-a-likes with a pink LED (yeah, I can be a bit girly!) and PCC. A bunch of Vision clearos, lots of cartos, two mini Vivi Novas with metal tubes. Hubby has SS cig-a-likes and a black VV eGo which he's quite happy with, he doesn't have a bad case of the wanties like I do!
Fave flavours so far: Chocolate cream mixed with almond, Nougat, Watermelon, RY4, Black Cat, Cocomel, Cherry, hubby loves his menthol but mainly vapes fruit flavours on the VV and loves his Whiskey flavour as well.
I'm not hugely interested in mixing my own juices as yet (although I'm sure that will come with time) but I am very interested in making my own mods. I'm about to order a bunch of stuff to make my own e-pipe and if it goes well I'll be making another one for hubby for Christmas. There's lots of tins on fleabay that are just crying out to be modded as well. I blame Gothiclord entirely for this, as it was his modding threads that got me interested!
Anyway, that's enough waffle from me for today, except to say thank you all so much for sharing your support, experience and knowledge so freely on this forum. You've saved me from buying "200 cigs per tip" rubbish, pointed me towards excellent suppliers who know what customer service really means and helped me find a new obsession/hobby.
