Thanks Perpetua, I'll order some EM from James just as soon as PayPal has recovered from my accident Vapemail this morning brought nic juice (54mg), VG, PG and some flavourings. I have F'arts RY4 and Melon Cantaloupe and best of all Absinthe from DV to add to the TPA ones received yesterday (Graham Cracker, Bavarian Creme and Pear). DV had also added a bottle of Marshmallow flavouring (which smells yummy!) and a pipette - which was wonderful of them as my syringes haven't turned up yet. Really really happy with the service from Decadent Vapours, even though I only ordered 1 item late in the evening it was still sent very quickly and the freebies are very welcome Also very happy with Postmodern Smoking for the nic juice (very reasonable prices and a discount code) and they were quick too. So I've made up a small amount of Absinthe, 1ml 54mg nic in PG, 1ml VG, 2ml PG and .5ml flavouring. I didn't steep it (too impatient, and is it necessary for one flavour anyway?) and now vaping in a mini Vivi Nova on a Twist. It's GORGEOUS! Can't wait for my CCW order to arrive so I can have a play. And I've just realised I don't have anywhere near enough empty bottles, so that's next on my list. I am so loving this mixing malarky already, and I've onle made one 1 flavour juice so far!

Thanks for going to the trouble to post this Brambles, I'm about to order some wick & wire to have a go for the first time myself so this is going to be very useful.

I've been reading this fabulous thread and drooling at the delicious recipes! Thanks be to Frogster (and everyone else) for supplying so much information on the dark arts of mixing. I wasn't intending to get into this, but whoops, I had a little PayPal accident and now have 21 CCW, 3 TPA and 1 DV flavours, Vape Wizard, 200ml 54mg nic juice, 100ml VG and 200ml PG, along with a variety of syringes etc on their way to me. I can't find anyone who has Ethyl Maltol in stock though, anyone know where I can get some?
Want to start with Bananas & Cream, Coconut Honey & Hazelnut and Skwoddy's Rhubarb Crumble, yum!

I got my samples a few days ago, very fast service which is great! So far I've tried the pear (which is lovely, quite subtle in a vivi nova but very nice), the forest fruits (also very nice, can really taste the berries) and the cherry which really does taste like cherry Tunes, mmmmmm! Just waiting for payday and I'll be flinging some money Feri's way too!

Local paper today had an interesting set of numbers regarding Stoptober. Notts has a population slightly in excess of 1 million, as of 2006. 21% of that 1 million smoke (no statistics as to how many ciggies per day/week/year makes a person count as a "smoker" so we have to assume it includes the casual pack per year smoker as well as the 3 packs per day smoker). So let's say a conservative figure of 150 thousand or so pack + per day smokers. A grand total of 243 Notts residents pledged to stop smoking in October. That's under 0.2% of the smoking population. And as we already know even mentored quitters using NRT have a failure rate of over 90%, we can confidently guess that the Stoptober effort in my county at least will be successful for fewer than 0.02% of its pack+ per day smoking residents. Maybe 6 or 7 people out of that 243 will succeed in quitting for good. According to this www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/268000-pledge-to-quit-smoking-for-stoptober-8229016.html Stoptober cost £5.7 million and 268,000 people signed up for it. So £21.27 per quitter. If 5% of them actually quit (unlikely to be more than 2-3% in actuality, but let's be generous) that's 13,400 fewer smokers at a cost of £425.37 each. There are 8 million smokers in the UK, so Stoptober may (at a generous estimate) reduce that number by 0.17% Seems like a waste of time and money to me, when giving everyone who pledged to quit an eGo kit (the £19.99 Stoptober one from E Cig Wizard was a pretty good deal) would have cost less money and had a far higher success rate. Conservative estimate based on some of the ecig research I've read - 69,000 fewer smokers at a cost of £5.36m, or £77.64 per quitter. And that's at retail rates, not wholesale. Edited to add: Hubby and I quit smoking and took up vaping instead on 28th September. The two of us by ourselves represent roughly a third of the smokers in Notts who will actually quit for Stoptober.

I've seen several of these torch/tube mods made on vids, and I *think* the bit you're looking for is often made by cutting down a large plastic bottle cap to fit. Something like a milk bottle or juice bottle, the kind with a wide plastic cap. And then use a small brass screw or a cut-down copper nail stuck through the middle and epoxied in as the connector. Does that seem right or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Hi Lobey, I have a fair amount of the lower-end kit too, and I've discovered that VV (at least on a Twist) doesn't give me anything extra than a few different ohm options on an standard eGo bettery already gives me. I'm not interested in LT (hate those plastic caps) or Provari (ugly thing) - and why would I want to pay so much more for higher voltage VV when it doesn't really do anything extra for me? Long lasting and easily replaceable batteries do interest me though, so I'm going the tinkerer route and building my own PVs. I have a tin mod, a box mod, a torch mod and a pipe mod already in the works, none of them are going to cost much and all of them will use easily-available rechargable batteries. If, later on, I fancy giving VV another go, I can use the skills gained on these 3.7V mods to build a 5V VV version, to my own design (well, limited by the materials and tools I have) and for far less money than a LT.
So maybe, as you are a tinkerer too, making your own mods as well as your own juice will help?

I'm using 10mg Black Cat in a Vision Clearo (think it's a CE4, not the rebuildable type) on a mini eGo batt, and I get a fair amount of vapour on the exhale. I didn't have much vapour when I used it in a carto, and there are other juices that don't give out much vapour for me in a carto either. Mind you, there are also juices that give me more vapour in a carto than they do in a clearo, it just takes some experimentation.

Hi Dave. I've been researching modding pipes for a while, found this video: I won't be using the same pipe as I'd rather work with wood, and I can't find a supplier for the empty ego tube over here (it's a US vid) but I don't think it's a necessary item. All the electronics etc are available from Liberty Flights, this particular mod uses ego electronics and puts the button near the base of the stem (which I prefer) rather than on the bowl. If you need direct links to the parts, here they are: eGo connector: www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=36eGo button & electronics: www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=122Costs about £5 for both. To get the curved stem, you can get a knucklehead drip tip from E Cig Wizard for about £3, or a VH Sax tank (tank with a curved mouthpiece) from Vapour Hut (http://vapourhut.com/vh-sax) for £4. The tanks apparently have issues with the mouthpiece not being particularly strong (going by a review here, I haven't tried one myself yet) but it certainly looks the part. I'm considering giving mine (if I use one) a paint job to make match the pipe better. Please let us know how you get on. I'm suffering from cash-flow-itis at the moment and won't be able to order my stuff for a while, so in the meantime I'd really like to see how others do! Edited for clarity.

Hi ewol. My taste buds are also all over the place and have been for a while. Some days everything just tastes watery, if it tastes of anything at all. The RY4 I loved at the beginning now tastes of not-very-much, most of my fruit flavours are meh when they used to be wow and even my favourite nougat tastes of cardboard. And I vape nearly everything either on dual coil cartos (works out at 1.5 ohm) on a standard ego battery or 1.8 ohm on a mini Vivi Nova on a Twist (at fairly low voltage or all I taste is overdone toast). The problem is that you don't just use your taste buds to taste, your nose is very important also. And if you are smelling the same smell (or tasting the same taste) for long enough, you just don't notice it anymore. Sewage workers and dairy farmers know this very well As menthol is a strong taste, it maybe that it all by itself is blunting your olfactory system so you're not smelling/tasting those flavours as well as you might (anyone know if this is true?). This makes interesting reading: www.virginvapor.com/blogs/news/4282932-should-i-choose-standard-or-extra-flavor-for-my-organic-e-liquidSome of the vendors offer juices at different flavour strengths, Puffin is one although I haven't bought from them yet. Also, Paradise Vape is currently doing a Pumpkin Spice flavour that's extremely strong all by itself - if you like sweet spices (think cinnamon and clove rather than curry and cardamom) perhaps give that one a go? Hubby's current favourite is lemon & lime with a few drops of menthol added, and that is luvverly. Other than that, just hang in there. Your sense of taste should come back, and stabilise (mostly) in time. Good luck!

More welcomes! This is such a friendly, welcoming place, thank you all so much! To andylec: Let us know how it goes, hope it works! To alanfinal: I am so sorry about your teeth problems - was it vaping that caused the problems, or did smoking mask the damage until you stopped? I ask because my teeth are not as strong as I'd like, have lost a top one already (before I stopped smoking) and I'd hate to lose more. Also I am a bit concerned about vaping sweet juices. I know juice doesn't contain sugar (would gunk up the atty in no time) but I can't find any evidence that vaping definitely doesn't rot teeth. I can't find any evidence that it does rot teeth either, and I have looked! To Perpetua: Thank you so much for that info, the Chocolate Cream I have is Easy, so it would be Dekang. I love love love their Nougat and can't find it anywhere else in the UK (apart from EnJuice, which is very different and not as nice to me). I'll have a search for Dekang and see if anyone else carries their Nougat flavour. It'll also help me find other flavours of theirs I like To dave: I am already tempted... I could spend thousands, and given half a chance (and enough time) I probably will!

Thank you everyone!
To andylec: I wasn't ready to quit til about a month ago - maybe your wife just isn't ready yet? And I'd bet the more she gets nagged, the more she'll dig her heels in. Maybe tempting her with the right flavour will help her cut down a bit, and you never know, eventually she might just decide for herself what we already know - that vaping is sooo much better than smoking in every way. Good luck!
To astralsteph: the chocolate cream was from Easy Liquid, which is sadly closed now (at least in this country). There are other chocolate cream liquids available although I haven't tried them. Liberty Flights does one.
To FirinBlanks: you are not wrong! So far we've spent twice the amount on e-cig stuff as we would have on baccy and associated stuff (papers etc) in the same amount of time. Break even day is somewhere in November, but only if I don't spend any more... like that's gonna happen!

Hi nwardy! I'm as juice-obsessed as you are. Next payday I'll be buying some pixie juice, these threads are going to bankrupt me but at least I'll be vaping something delicious... Congratulations on giving up the ciggies, something to be proud of for sure!
