Temperature control and... 150 Watts. Big watts! Presumably useful for higher resistance nickel builds, according to SteamEngine you have to run at 1.5 ohms or more for the heat flux to be amber (i.e. not burning hot). Any takers?

I recently had some very good results with a KFL/rayon build using the method of cutting the wick tails close to the coil, so that they fluff out (rayon does this naturally) and don't obscure the juice channels.

It's not snobbishness, rather as vapers we are hobbyists Years ago I was into the Hi-Fi scene like many people, but stopped short of shelling out for gold-plated mains plugs and other 'necessities' that supposedly enhanced the listening experience. It's easy to get caught up in the hype of the Next Big Thing of course. At least with vaping you might end up spending north of £50 for a mod or atty that ends up being at best the same as those you already have, or you may discover something that makes vaping more pleasureable. With me it was rayon and the DNA40. I actually spend far less on hardware than I used to now, being settled on a combination that works for me. Whatever works for you works for you, whether its the shiniest gizmo the web is ranting about, or the trusty old combination that has served you well for ages.

Today the HCigar DNA40 was acting strangely. The atty ohmage was shooting up when fired, from its nominal 0.12 ohms right up to 0.45. Duff coil or connections? Ok, so a new coil went in, and all connections were cleaned with isopropyl... same result, 0.15 on resting, up to over 0.40 fired. No surprise then that every other atty put on the unit behaved the same, so clearly the DNA40 was out of whack. A google later, the solution! Change the temperature control right up to 500F, which then resets the DNA40 (it asks you if it's a new coil, which it wasn't doing before). The ohmage reading stabilised right then. Back to my favoured temp (430F) and all is well again

Try winding a nickel coil (ni200 0.3 works just fine) on a M4 bolt - four or five winds comes in at around 0.10 to 0.15 ohms, and it's a piece of cake to do. On Kayfun style decks you can leave the wire on the bolt while securing the leads, then simply twist the bolt to unwind it. Perfectly spaced coils in no time.

He should get a gold star for that @tedster. Years ago I sat a History exam and one of the questions was 'Which General was in charge of (some army at some battle in the American Civil War)'? My answer 'General Accident' got a tick!

An ultrasonic cleaner has its uses. Like removing the taste of wee from an atty after I've someone's dropped it down the bog.

Sounds familiar A pic would confirm if its the same one I used on a Hammond box/Bezel mod some time ago. That bezel was held on by very tiny screws. I have a shedload of the wee things knocking about the place.

The PC (prodigal chuffer) was in the smoking shed this morning tooting away on his new acquisition, that he's chuffed about (see wot i did dere)... a Vype. Tomorrow I'm loaning him a Vamo with an iClear16 on it, should be a night and day difference. The Vamo's a bit huge for new vapers, but it was either that, one of the box mods (that's for later loanage methinks), or an Ego-C. The Ego just wasn't powerful enough to do the job.
