My renewal was higher last year. Did the comparison thing and same company was £150 cheaper bringing it down to what I was paying! I rang up, got the deal but couldn't believe it. There's no customer loyalty now is there?!? I started this year @spikeyfridge with Direct Line instead of a comparison site, being as how the latter have been shown up recently as being in cohoots with the providers in ripping you and me off - they artificially inflate the prices of all their "compared" offerings so that they can take a chunky slice, while keeping your premiums up. I actually went to Direct Line. Again, if you're with Direct Line, go to a site that is not a comparison one, my old one was Admiral (who tried to rip me off and I caught em out). Don't use comparison sites. Edit : I stayed with Admiral, as the difference was 3 quid in the end, and as they have my past records they know I'm not bullshitting them on the '9 years no claims' and so on.

I don't preheat or pulse them at all. The first few hits are a bit oogy, two or three, but once past that they are just fine. I rewicked not a half hour ago, 5 winds 0.3mm wire 0.25mm former, 0.14 ohms. Tootling away nicely on a ST mini.
Edited cuz I can't do ohms. 0.14 not 1.4. This is on a dna40.

90ML of ethyl maltol just arrived, along with some concentrates (V Custard, French Vanilla) from Alchemists Cupboard. Enough to keep me in custardy and ethyl goodness for a while

A quote from the existing provider came into the Inbox today, £488. So off I hopped to one of the online insurers, ran the digits through, £307. Rang my current provider and they have given me the same cover as before, and 'managed' to drop it to £310.
Never take a renewal at face value, get a lower one (or three, a drop of £190 was fine for me) and ring them up!

Also, whilst Joy Division heralded from Salford, the opening scenes of the film were made at a (now demolished) block of council towers that are around 10 minutes walk from where I live. Gregory Court, ah the memories of Saturday night scooshes we had in those flats It's also right next to the world, well Nottnum famous Savoy cinema, one of the few surviving from the pre-multiplex era. The filmed flats are in the background.

On a similar note, googling 'funny amazon reviews' brought forth this masterpiece. The first laugh out loud literally (is that LOLL?) was when I read this comment :

Had a tache for years but only once have I grown a beard. I thought it might keep my face a bit warmer, working outside in the winter. It was itchy for a couple of weeks but I looked a bit weird with it, wife also disliked it. The boss came in one night who I hadn't seen for a few weeks. He said "what's with the beard, you look a right c...." . He soon scuttled off when I looked at him funny and "ah, but I can shave it orf" What I've wondered for a few years is, if they can give you pills for all sorts like headaches, blood pressure, contraception etc, why can't they make one for men to stop growing facial hair? Or have they and the big shaving company's have kyboshed it. I hate shaving! There is a radical (and blooming painful) solution bluemagnum, waxing your fizz. It's possible to rip the follicles out and so prevent regrowth, but at the risk of turning your mush into a bright red painful mess. Still interested? Try this. One of the preparations used to remove embarrassing hair is Veet. Though exercise with care, not like this fella. Edit : unbelieveably, but true, there is a men's hair removal cream called ... Nads.
