From what i have read you absorb between 50-80% of the nic when vaping. In my situation, even at 50% thats still 27mg as opposed to 10mg. The medical research is there for smoking, its not for vaping.

Lets face it ,thats the problem. no-one seems to know? Nicorette patches for the average smoker [20 a day] contain 21mg of nicotine. I think you will find a cigarette produces about 10mg of nic ,but only 1mg is absorbed. I can only assume if a juice has 18mg/ml and i vape 1ml, then i absorb 18mg?

Forgot lol. I stated nic could be the problem? Well i used to smoke 10 rollies a day,say 10 mg of nic. I vaped 18mg/ml and some days i could vape 3ml. This means 54mg of nic as opposed to the 10mg i used to absorb. I think peeps should be aware that its very easy to dramatically increase your nic intake without realising it?

Just came across this. I suffer with PG and VG. I havent vaped for a week now and get by on inhalers. Even VG mixed 100% with water causes a problem. Im going to try without nicotine, incase nic is a problem. Trying to locate a retailer of " Thick And Easy" a powder to thicken liquids. I can find it online but the delivery charge is a joke. Will check out "Everclear ".

Tried antihistamines , didnt help. Im not using any flavours. Just nic , VG and water with a few drops of sweetner. I dilute the VG [Boots]100%, yup thats right 100%. I know VG can induce asthma like symptoms. If i can thicken de-ion water it may work,i just dont know. It would have to lower the boiling point in order to vapourise. Then i could vape just water with nic and sweetner.

I presently vape VG mixed at the rate of 100% with de-ionised water and it works ok. However i would like to try a higher % of water. Ive noticed you can buy water thickeners for people who have problems with swallowing thin liquids. Im not looking for definitive answers on this, but any comments would be appreciated. Im trying to find a way of reducing the vapour content as i cant use PG.

Sorry for the late reply. Just to clarify, i have tried 100% VG and PG and various mixes. Pg is a no go as it brings me out in hot itchy areas. Took two months to take effect though. Im not allergic to VG , but it does affect my lungs,it can leave me feeling asthmatic. DiscoDes PEG400? Will have to look into this.

Well i have an allergy to PG and have to be careful with VG. I now only vape unflavoured juice. Eg.......1ml of 54mg VG,1 ml of VG, 1ml of de-ionised water, i add 3 drops of sweetner. The water reduces the vapour produced and to be honest i really like the sweet taste of it lol. I try to use a nic inhaler during the day and vape at night. Will add a few drops of flavour and experiment more. I bought some nic lozenges and even those caused itching problems. However i havent had a ciggy for 13 weeks so its worth the effort.

Well after 11 weeks of vaping i have come to the conclusion that i suffer with VG and PG. VG affects my breathing and PG leaves me with hot itchy areas on my arms mostly but other areas aswell. I am experimenting with VG and nic only, but have to limit my time vaping. At this rate i will have no choice but to give it up. I felt better when i was smoking. Maybe i will give the nic inhalers a go. Its really disappointing, especially as i have spent a tidy sum on vaping and diy gear. Grrr

Wouldn't worry me if they banned vaping as-long as they ban smoking aswell. If regulations are introduced and/or e-cig prices increase i will quit anyway.

Well i have been vaping for 10 weeks. I still get problems if i vape too much. Ive had the wheeze, sore throat, itchy arms beleive it or not and coughs. I have tried most combinations of vg/pg and after a while i always seem to develop something or another. Personally i think it depends on your fitness and age when you started vaping. If you were on 30+ a day and did not exercise you probably wont get any side effects [apart form an allergy]. If you smoked 10 a day or less and were fairly active you will probably find you develop a slight cough or wheeze although fairly short lived, especially if you vape too much. Lets face it lungs should be filled with oxygen and nothing else. Vaping can still restrict the airways. However if you vape sensibily it is still far better than smoking. Even though i have had problems i will continue vaping as i enjoy it,but my aim is to give up smoking/vaping altogether. By the way these comments are my opinion only . Happy vaping.

As stated i mixed some VC about 5 days ago. Tried it today, lovely, really nice and mellow. My mix.......3ml/54mg vg , 4ml pg , 2.5ml of CCW custard , .25ml of Very Vanilla from LF and 3 drops of ethyl maltol. I daresay it will improve with further steeping. I only tried it early as i have just mixed another 10ml using the same recipe but using Capella VC and French Vanilla. Will give it a week to steep then i can compare the two. But to be honest the CCW mix will take some beating.

I have 10ml steeping and followed perps method. However only had CCW custard and very vanilla from LF. Used ethyl maltol for sweetening. Used 3ml of 54mg/ml VG and approx 7ml of PG. I was a 50/50 man ,but am finding 60/40 to 70/30 in favour of PG to be more suitable. Smells ok, and its only been 3 days. Will be interesting to mix using Capella.

Well ordered 60ml of Vanilla custard and 10ml of French vanilla. Vanilla custard is without doubt my favourite juice. I have tried many over the last few months and its the only juice i truly enjoy. I normally vape GVC, but im determined to mix my own. Nice one froggy.
