BEWARE! Your favourite toothpaste could be laced with cancer- causing nicotine. Baggsy I get to punch the next person to death that says that! Edit: Moreover, as nicotine and tar are carcinogens
Who the hell did the science bit for this article, the Flat-Earth society!?
completely agree Kibbster but felt i shouldn't edit a quote from some one else no matter how ridiculous the statement, perhaps she now works for the Daily Fail

Well if the EU get their way I’m off down the pound shop for some Indian Colgate “18mg” toothpaste, mix it with VG and away we go! TOOTHPASTES COME WITH NICOTINE FIX by Jenny Novac on September 13, 2011 Govt lab raises red flag on nicotine level of popular brands BEWARE! Your favourite toothpaste could be laced with cancer- causing nicotine. Astudy by the Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research ( DIPSAR) has found that many of the toothpaste manufacturers are adulterating toothpastes and toothpowders with high quantity of nicotine. TOOTHPASTES antismoking ads ” Out of the 24 brands of toothpastes studied in 2011, seven brands – Colgate Herbal, Himalaya, Neem paste, Neem Tulsi, RA Thermoseal, Sensoform and Stoline – were found to contain nicotine,” said Professor S. S. Agarwal of DIPSAR, which is affiliated to the Delhi University and is funded by the Delhi government. ” Colgate Herbal and Neem Tulsi, also a herbal product, surprisingly had 18 and 10 mg of nicotine, which is equivalent to the quantity found in nine and five cigarettes respectively,” Prof Agarwal added. ” Out of the ten brands of toothpowders examined, six – Dabur Red, Vicco, Musaka Gul, Payokil, Unadent and Alka Dantmanjan – were found to contain nicotine. Payokil was found to have the highest 16 mg of tobacco, which is equivalent of what a person consumes after smoking eight cigarettes,” he said. ” Vicco was found to have used tobacco consecutively for three years in its toothpowder, while Dabur Red resumed mixing tobacco in 2011 after stopping it in 2008,” Prof Agarwal said. The findings were, however, strongly refuted by the manufacturers of some of the dental creams and toothpowders named by DIPSAR. According to the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003, tobacco cannot be added to non- tobacco products like toothpastes and toothpowders. Section 7( 5) of the Act lays down that every tobacco package should have nicotine and tar contents along with the maximum permissible limits, which is not being done by these toothpaste manufacturers. Moreover, as nicotine and tar are carcinogens, the manufacturers should mention them among contents along with their permissible limits on the packages to help people make an informed choice. Prof Agarwal said that he has now written to the Union ministry of health and family welfare, drug controller- general of India and Delhi drug controller about the rampant tobacco adulteration in toothpowders and toothpastes. ” Addition of tobacco is banned under central excise but it is still being added; do they forward it to the drug controller- general of India? Nicotine action is believed to be responsible for the drug induced feeling of pleasure and addiction, said Prof Agarwal. His toxicology results here: www.hindawi.com/journals/jt/2012/237506/Quite surprisingly toothpaste manufacturers strongly deny these results to be valid. Just to clarify i seriously would not personally attempt to vape toothpaste and do not recommend others to try.

always easier to add than take away, i've used 15% vodka to VG plus 50ml Vodka for me, however got told off by wifey as vodka is hers. She reckons i ought to use my whiskey. tried to explain that using a good malt would just be criminal. Good luck don't forget your flavouring will dilute it down a bit more too

any recommendations on where to purchase Nic base in the UK?
Ordered some vanilla custard, Cherry and Strawberry with cream Capella from the Frogster (very helpful he is too) going to continue experimenting with mixing 0 Nic 100% VG initially to keep costs to a minimum then hope to progress to making low Nic juice.
Also plumped for some of Frogsters ready made raspberry truffle to give to the good lady wife (should divert the "are you seriously buying more vaping stuff!" discussion and solve the what to get for Valentines dilemma)hence also getting delivery to the office, new take on the phrase "Stealth vaping" methinks!

Ok, went to Boots at lunchtime purchased the VG, no deionised water so as you said Chrisde just used VG and flavouring, 50/50 was waaaay too runny 60/40 the consistency appears to be getting there. sorry just could not resist but after a whole half hour of steeping (i know, how impatient am i?) i had to christen a clearo with it.
Verdict: loads of vapour, normally vape ready mixed juice heavy on the PG. It is sweeter than I expected and the Vanilla very subtle and delicate after taste, though does need to be stronger tasting but then it was a cheapo from Lidl and no steeping. However I like it!
thanks to all for your input and as for mixing? my journey has begun!

PS - Distilled water for automotive use is NOT 100% safe for vaping. noted, new revision to trial mix: Vodka 10% to thin VG or deionised from chemist. now let me just test the quality of that vodka, sure the wife has a bottle round here somewhere

thanks for the calculator link, bookmarked. not expecting great results initially Perpetua just fancy a bit of a play whilst keeping costs down, will try with some other flavourings over the course of time, also have to give my better half some time to get used to me mixing, she must love me a lot as she worries about me using nic, so the no nic option puts her mind at rest. though i'm sure she will be happy vaping home made juice when convinced of "savings" so a recommendation for a good black cherry flavour will help me in my quest

Thanks Vic and Perpetua, 10% car shop water to VG, then 50/50 with that and the Lidl flavouring, first foray into the world of mixing here i come, worth a couple of £ in experimentation me thinks ???

I've tried the supermarket strawberry and lemon, they actually put me off the idea of mixing until recently, I found that I needed nearly a full bottle to get any flavour at all. what quantity did you make up? may revise my plan and just use it 50/50 with Vg as the flavouring is in PG already
