I wonder how intense the flavouring actually is though Ausfost, additionally some of these inexpensive essences can lose their flavour quite quickly in the way we use them. You'll have to let us know if you're going to buy and test some.

purchased the vanilla, will probably make up some 0 nic just to have a go (never done any D.I.Y) heading off to boots for some VG and the car shop for deionised water tomorrow will let you know next week after a bit of steeping, any guidance on a basic recipe gladly accepted, planning on just doing a VG mix with 20% flavour, 20% Deionised water to thin? don't want to have to order and hang around waiting for PG. impatient i know

I've tried the supermarket strawberry and lemon, they actually put me off the idea of mixing until recently, I found that I needed nearly a full bottle to get any flavour at all.

Don't expect a good result at 20% Ausfost . . . you'll be struggling I suspect to get a true vanilla flavour coming through.
If you're really that impatient, Neilsen Massey Vanilla Extract that some supermarkets stock would be a better option.

If you're happy, then that's fine Ausfost . . . but don't be put off mixing if you don't get a great result, there are considerably better flavouring options, easily available to us.

I have used supermarket flavourings, and they are not strong enough to be of any use.
PS - Distilled water for automotive use is NOT 100% safe for vaping.
Automotive-use manufacturing criteria does NOT require that regular distilled water be packaged to prevent contamination. In other words, it might go in the container sterile, but the containers do not need to protect the sterility of the contents.
Ask Mark Green of VaperScene....or find his video on making e-liquid.

thanks for the calculator link, bookmarked. not expecting great results initially Perpetua just fancy a bit of a play whilst keeping costs down, will try with some other flavourings over the course of time, also have to give my better half some time to get used to me mixing, she must love me a lot as she worries about me using nic, so the no nic option puts her mind at rest. though i'm sure she will be happy vaping home made juice when convinced of "savings" so a recommendation for a good black cherry flavour will help me in my quest

Read a post somewhere that stated Distilled water from car spare shops (thing Halfords had released a statement) was not fit for human consumption, so i reckon we should not be vaping it.
and the general consensus was that that deionised water from a chemist was what we should be using or even boiled water.

PS - Distilled water for automotive use is NOT 100% safe for vaping. noted, new revision to trial mix: Vodka 10% to thin VG or deionised from chemist. now let me just test the quality of that vodka, sure the wife has a bottle round here somewhere
