Thanks Perpetua, you've told me something I didn't know. Discontinued? That's a blow as the Vivi Nova is the only tank I've ever used since I started vaping. Can you or anyone else recommend an alternative that's just as simple and easy to use/clean etc?

I always pay for all my ecig purchases on the net with PayPal. Always have done and never had a problem.

Another inexpensive mod with a big fixed battery and good performance is the Athena Smart-40 available from Vape-it UK for £25 but only in pink. 4200mah, floating 510 pin, atomizer resistance 0.5ohm-4.0ohm, adjustable 7w - 40w. Also available at Fasttech with more colours for £27 if you don't mind waiting. I've recently purchased an Athena Smart-30 for £22 from Fasttech. Charged it up Monday evening and started using it Tuesday morning. I've used it all day every day this week and it's still showing about one third of the battery is still to be used. I reckon I'll get approx 6/7 days use from one charge. Can't grumble at that

a 510 to ego adaptor may be a temporary solution?? you may have one bundled with the mod? failing that one or 2 soft rubber washers to fill the gap between the mod and atty base might be all you need to stop the gap from nagging at you to screw it on further ... Thanks, makes sense that. I'll give it a go.

After faffing about it does appear to work as long as the tank isn't screwed down too much ie, very lightly indeed. Screw it down too much and the firing button locks up. Weird. Thanks for your suggestions anyway. Much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply, however the problem seems to be that the pin is too far up rather than too far down, ie, if I screw my Vivi Nova down too much the battery just locks up. I think I'll need to try a different type of tank cos I only use Vivi Nova's.

Hi, not posted in a while but have recently purchased one of the above from Fasttech but I'm struggling to get it working properly. Does anyone know if it works with a Vivi Nova tank cos it ain't working very well with mine. Also when I screw the adaptor in it doesn't work at all. Any info will be gratefully received :-)

Tried all the flavours but now use half Menthol and half Flu Cured mixed as an all day vape.

Thank you for all your congrats for myself and good wishes for my wife, it really is very much appreciated. Just an update re my missus. Today we spent the afternoon at the hospital in the fracture clinic where, amongst other things, we received the results of a check they did on whether my wife had osteoporosis (brittle bones) and unbelievably, to me, we were told she doesn't have that condition. I had convinced myself that that was the reason she'd suffered two separate breaks in one week. So it seems she really was just unlucky after all.

Twelve months ago today, and after 40 odd years as a smoker, I packed the fags up after discovering e-cigs, and I'm happy to report that I haven't had any urges whatsoever to go back to the dreaded weed (not that I haven't been tested on occasions).
The latest 'test' occurred about a month before Xmas when my wife fell down a flight of concrete steps and suffered a compound fracture to her ankle. As I attempted to help her off the floor I noticed that she was sat on her foot, which was lying at a 90 degree angle to her leg. It was a complete break and the bone was sticking out through her skin. It was a truly sickening sight. An ambulance was called - later followed by another two ambulance's after the first paramedic called for assistance – and between them they eventually (after three hours) managed to get my wife off the ground and into the ambulance and whisk her off to hospital where a team from the Trauma Unit was waiting. She was operated on within an hour of arriving at the hospital and has been in plaster – and bedridden of course - since that day.
Apart from the injury, the most worrying thing was that whilst the paramedics were attending my wife they were becoming concerned that that they couldn't feel a pulse in her lower limb and I was warned there was a possibility she might lose her foot. I was stunned and in shock. Thankfully however, as they got her into the ambulance, one of the paramedics managed to get a pulse and I was able to breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Just to add a footnote (no pun intended), exactly one week prior to my wife's accident on those steps, she had tripped and stumbled in the hallway at home and – putting her hand out to cushion the fall – she broke her wrist, which required an operation. Now, all in all, thats what I call bloody bad luck and a terrible end to the year 2013. The good news is, despite all the panic and worry involved, I have still not had a cig :0)

Does anyone know if you can buy a Lanyard for an MVP? After having mine for about seven months I've managed to drop it twice this week, which has resulted in two knackered tanks. How about we do a deal? You cover the postage (£1) and I'll send you one of these in the colour of your choice, gratis? The only other condition being that you post your opinion by the end of the month? cheers raid. I'll take you up on that offer if you don't mind. That lanyard looks ideal.
