I just zap mine in the microwave for about 5 seconds (you just want to warm it slightly, never boil it) this warms up the VG making it less viscous so it mixes better, then shake it vigorously for 30 seconds. Leave it for about an hour and then have a vape If I don't like it on the first vape, I'll usually leave it for one week in a cupboard and try it again, tbh though I don't think I've ever liked a DIY after a week that I didn't like on the first vape.

Thanks Greg Yep must have been the leads.. didn't have any paperclips, so I shoved a bit of copper wire in there & when I worked out it needed to be insulated & I couldn't be touching it (took a while haha), then eventually it settled at 0.6?.. think it's a half-bit of speaker wire.. that sounds about right doesn't it? Great, I can just replace the leads nice one! Ok so see if I get the leads sorted.. then what am I actually looking for when I'm testing bits of the mod?? I'm guessing that: 1) I don't want current to be flowing through the outside of the mod, so if there is no beep when I touch the outside & also the centre pin then that's good? 2) I want there to be a good potential difference through the battery, so test probes on either end of battery set on 20V, if about 4V that's good? 3) What other measurements can I take and what sort of values should I be wanting if everything is working ok? Or otherwise, does anyone know of a good site / thread about such things? I'll keep on looking myself, but not found much yet.. I.e. when I was testing resistance before, not sure whether I was looking for a high / low / no value etc... Thanx Nice one sounds like it's just the probes, get them to replace them . 1.) Yes, you shouldn't have continuity between the body/tube etc and the centre pin. You would short the battery out. 2.) Yes, fresh off the charger they should read around 4.2v, I normally feel vapour production getting less at about 3.5v so I switch for a fresh one. Maximum discharge is usually 2.5v. P.S If you ever have access to a soldering iron and want to mod the XL830L so that the LED back light always stays on while the unit is switched on. I posted a quick guide here a while back.. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/21038?page=2

Not having much luck are you purkle, I'm sure you'll get it sorted soon though You don't get an instant reading for ohms btw, it's normal for the display to count down a bit until it settles on a number, but having said that, 77?'s is far too high for just the probes, mine displays about 6?'s then goes down until it settles on about 1.5?'s It sounds like you've been sent a wonky multimeter or the probes are bad. Did you get XL830L ?

It's normal for cheap meters to read 1 when the probes aren't touching anything (mine does too).
Set it to the lowest ? setting (200? usually) and touch the probes together firmly, if it still displays 1 that's not normal.
Have you got the black probe in the "COM" port and the red probe in the "V?mA" port?

Still unable to use codes. Ft support suggested typing the codes in (like I hadnt tried it already) and now seem to be ignoring me Keep on at them mate, also (if you haven't already) start a thread in the "order support" forum.. www.fasttech.com/forums/order-supportOne of the staff members should help sort it out , maybe try putting "[Sufie/Geek]" in the title of the thread.

Both batteries have been in charging for at least a couple of hours now (no sign of life), tested both of them again using the beep setting & also the 20V setting, both read zilch. peanuts. ummmm, oh dear! gutted..sorry to hear that purkle. Maybe Torchy will replace them, worth a shot. Edit: quoted wrong post

One other thing to check, looking at the piece in your fingers in the first photo the top of the pin has a head like a nail, then looking at Adams photo of the aerotank base the central positive pin is recessed, perhaps as you screw on the atty the "nail" head is connecting to both the atty recessed positive pin and the outer negative pin and shorting out. Do you have any other attys to try we're the centre positive pin on the atty is proud of the negative outer part of the atty 510 connector ? Good thinking Greg, purkle Is the firing pin of the mod quite large? similar in diameter to the outer part of the aerotanks 510 connector? On a positive note UKECigCabin have got £10 off their sigelei mech mods at the moment (might be a discount code on the forum too somewhere) www.ukecigcabin.com/product/sigelei-modI like the look of #10 looks like a Roller/Dingo.

If it was me I'd leave battery A in the charger for an hour and then test the voltage again (mine didn't register any LED's at first either) don't leave it unattended though, just in case.
If battery B had vented you would know about it and it wouldn't have come through the drip tip because the bottom of the AeroTank is sealed, it would have spewed horrible gas from the vent hole on the mech mod (does it have a vent hole?)
Does Battery B look damaged in any way? bulging, splits or holes etc.
Was probably just the coil/wick burning because of the short.
See how you get on with just leaving Battery A in the charger for a while.
The loose, wobbly center pin has probably caused this but without having the mod in my hands it's hard to know exactly what's going on.

Hi purkle sorry to read you're having problems. Check the bottom of your aerotank and make sure the pin is central with space all around it, like this..(best to always do that before screwing onto a mech mod) A couple of times I've screwed the coil-unit in too far and it's pushed the pin out a little bit, and it's touched the side giving a short, like this. If that's ok assemble the mod and check it for a short, set your multimeter to "continuity test" (when you touch probes together you will hear a beep) Touch one probe to the tube of the mod and the other to the firing pin, do you get a beep? As for the battery, what charger did you get? If you got the Nitecore have you tried just leaving it in the charger for an hour? then check the voltage of the battery and see if it's gone up at all. When I put my over discharged 18350 into the Nitecore, it didn't look like it was doing anything for ages but eventually it charged back up.

That's what I thought Perpetua but they sell Ekowool as well (they're one of the official Ekowool distributors for the UK) , so I guess it must be different somehow.
The picture is the same for both Voodoowool & Ekowool though.

Thanks for the heads up Toots, was going to get some in my next order. I really like the Capella stuff so I'm a bit surprised tbh. Maybe try FlavourArt? I love their Peppermint @ 20% with a few drops of Menthol
