haha thanks guys - I guess the "fire" named ones are a no-no then going by both of your responses!
Luckily I'm getting the Vamo from Fasttech (something like £22!) so I'll get batteries from there too

Hi all I've decided to bite the bullet and buy a Vamo V3 from Hong Kong as the price is so good at the mo Can anyone tell me if these batteries would be ok? LinkyIs there a maximum Mah it can use? Or anything else to look out for? As quite a heavy vaper what sort of time can I expect from using an 18650 battery? Thanks Steve

On this subject, could something like a Vamo or any other VV mod have a socket fitted to accept a mains adaptor?

maybe put a vamo board in your mod with a direct input for voltage... could keep it nice and small too. Mev - only saw this afternoon you can buy a Vamo board. So, would just have to connect it to a 510 connector at one end and a socket for a mains adaptor at the other? Obviously in a case of some sort) What sort of power would the mains adaptor need to give out? Sorry for all the questions all. Trying to get my head around all this

Yep those are the passthrough's I've been using up till now testdruif.
I pulled one apart when it broke down before - if anyone wants the one I've just broke just for a look inside let me know and I'll post it.

Thank you guys testdruif - that looks good to me. Can you tell me if I wanted to buy a vv board, and instead of connecting it to a battery the power was delivered by a mains adaptor (like the phones used or cordless phones etc) could that be made to work? Cutting out USB altogether I mean?

Hi all
With all the parts I've seen available I've been thinking about having a go at making a mod of my own.
The thing is, I really like using my VV USB passthrough indoors when I'm at my computer... but these don't seem to last me long. I've been through 3 since I started vaping at the beginning of Feb.
Would any of you experienced builders know how easy it would be to build a VV mod that has no battery of it's own, but a socket to plug a 6v mains adaptor etc into?
I'm not even sure, maybe something is already available?
Thanks
Steve

I had my last ciggie on 30th Jan.. .sometime in Feb I started having a funny feeling in my chest in the mornings on the way to work, walking up escalators etc. As usual did some googling and found out many people experience heartburn after giving up. (never had digestive problems so didn't even know what hearburn feels like) This went on for a few weeks, getting a bit worse each time.. till I decided to see a doctor. The last time I'd previously been to a doc was about 2004 as I never get ill. Anyway, cut a long story short, I was referred to hospital for a few tests, had an angiogram a couple of weeks ago and apparently I need a triple heart bypass!! Have been referred to a consultant at King's College Hospital, which thankfully have a good reputation for cardiac stuff. Now, I know I smoked for a long time, and although like all of us I have had the odd takeaway etc but by no means have I had a terrible diet.. but still in shock that I'm having to have this done at 43 years old, and with no prior warnings/feeling bad etc before Feb! Anyone who has given up smoking should definitely be thankful they did..

Thanks all for your input, some good advice for me to look at.
I will also look up how to make a hybrid wick and give that a go!

Hey all I've spent the past week trying out making SS mesh wicks for my Igo dripper, with varying success. Sometimes, it seems I get really foul, sharp tasting dry vapes which burn inside my nose a bit.. but when I look I have enough juice in there. Is it better to roll the wick tighter or not so tight? Is it down to the coils being too tight or not tight enough etc? Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance Steve
