What annoys me is the people who thought it was fab for stopping using patches last time for 5 month seem to think this is a cheat!!! Hi Jaysey, I received the same laughs & criticism from smokers 5 months ago, ironically 4 of them are now vaping themselves. I'm still working on the others, but glad to report that momentum is definitely building. I suspect the vapers will make-up the majority within the year.

I've just noticed that Jason is selling the innokin MVP at the bargain price of £44.95.
Dilemma, do I grab a bargain or wait for the MVP-2.
Is shinyitus finally catching up with me!

Hi and welcome Arron, By the sound of things you will be away during the 2 month stage where many of us go through quite dramatic changes to our taste buds. Consequently the best advice would be to stock up on many spare clearomisers and a great variety of juice flavours, especially some menthol just in case your buds refuse to respond to anything else. In the meantime, lots of experimentation with small juice samplers will give you an idea of what flavours to stockpile in advance. Finally, many thanks for keeping us all safer, and please, please do NOT plug your charger anywhere near that big red button.

Hi Ben & welcome to AAEC,
My own experiences are pretty much identical to many other vapers. I smoked for 30 years and had wanted to quit for at least 10 of those. I had tried patches, gum, mints & inhalators but failed miserably every time.
I tried vaping and have never touched a ciggie since, giving-up really was very easy for me.
The only difficulty I faced was at the 2 month period when I found myself craving tobacco flavoured juice instead of my usual fruity ones. Thankfully this difficult stage only lasted a week and soon passed after realising those tobacco juices tasted like sh*t in comparison.
After 5 months I still enjoy the act of vaping but I'm finding that the nicotine is no longer that important to me. I'm currently vaping my first freebie bottle, namely some "Chocolate" flavoured juice from Health-E-Vape, it's only 4mg but its doing the job very nicely. In terms of health, I really do feel fantastic for giving-up the stinkies, and my wife is certainly appreciating the better smelling version of me. Finally for the cherry on top, I've saved over £1000 in 5 months!!
Unfortunately big business, the EU, Governments and the world & his wife seem to have it in for vapers, so I now feel I have a duty to spread the word to other smokers before its too late.

Welcome to AAEC Jay The clear plastic thingy is called a "clearomiser" but terminology or fancy hardware isn't really that important. What is important is that you've finally discovered an exciting alternative to tobacco, and quite frankly you should congratulate yourself, we'll done!!

I would also suggest pressing the button 5 times - I know it sounds obvious but it caught me out once before.

Best buy was my 1300 mah vision spinners, they last all day & I love em. Thankfully no seriously bad buys, except maybe some blueberry cheesecake juice that tasted of vomit

Welcome & congratulations Richie, you'll find vaping far easier than rolling your own, and hopefully far more tasty as well.
Although the transition to vaping can be quite easy I would recommend following other members experiences to prepare yourself for the various stages some of us have gone through. For example dramatic changes to taste buds and possibly even tobacco cravings after a couple of months, thankfully these stages are quite short lived and relatively minor compared to all the positive benefits.

I've noticed that juices from particular vendors have a habit of turning black in a clearo (possible due to food colourants or flavourings) , additionally some citrus flavours have the habit of frosting a clearo in a similar fashion to dishwashers frosting glasses. I now tend to avoid artificially coloured juices but can't resist my citrus juice.
For cleaning I soak my clearos overnight in a glass water with a denture tablet, it always brings them up shiny again :-)

My juice consumption has remained about the same since starting to vape, roughly 3 to 4 ml per day.
My nic has decreased during this period though, I started on 18mg and now vape 8mg or 10mg depending on the vendor.
If I manage to get down to 4mg then I should beat the proposed regulation.

As smokers we learnt to appreciate the effects of passive smoking on others around us, and I would like to think we were generally responsible. By bypassing anti-tobacco laws e-cigs now offer us a degree of freedom, for example many pubs, clubs, restaurants & work places allow vaping.
Thankfully I'm fortunate to sit amongst understandable colleagues and can discreetly vape at work every now and again. But, I'm also well aware that if I produced huge clouds of vapour then it wouldn't be too long before our HR team compiled a new vaping policy that would send me outside to the smoking shelter.
So I guess sometimes its better that we don't over politicise the issue and just accept that we're in a better position than tobacco smokers. At the moment indecision is working on our behalf, whereas forcing a decision may result in a decision we do not wish for.

Hiya you pair. Hopefully you'll find giving-up the stinkies as easy as many of us. There's a world of new flavours to experience, you'll save bucket loads of money and you'll both feel & smell far healthier for it too. Enjoy!!
