Just taken delivery of my new Ithaka. What a toy!
Since it's my first time out with a rebuildable I decided to just follow Imeo's video on youtube for a single coil setup, mainly because I had no idea what all the parts did lol.
I started unscrewing a few things (like you do) and ended up with a stainless steel mess on my table ???
Anyway, after following his video to the T, I got myself a proper smoke machine. I was a little worried one of my coils was touching another but it actually looked neater than Imeo's so carried out the first test (without filling the tank). Dead. Then I remembered the centre positive pin needed to be screwed down a little to make contact. Vapour! Yeahhh. The excitement then grew to anguish as the Provari gave an E1 error after 1 second. A quick look at the manual suggested I had to switch voltage down so set it to 3.3v and a cloud of vape bellowed in to the air.
Screwed it all together, filled the tank with Grizwalds arctic lemon and p*ssed myself with excitement from the throat hit.
/goes to change pants.

I inserted my thing with a nipple, it seemed to like it My provari is up and running. Cheers everyone. Mev I didn't know these CGR18650CH could have a nipple, that's where the confusion is then. D'oh. You live and learn.

I thank you again for your advice guys.
I'm picking up the feeling that I should stop being typically Yorkshire and go to VE lol.
In fact, I'll drive there now. Only 20 minutes away.
Cheers.

You guys must be the most helpful on the web, and most definitely the quickest lol. I have an order in with Fast Tech at the moment and they may update my order. Are any of these batteries any good? www.fasttech.com/category/1420/batteries

Many thanks for the replies I forgot to mention that I cleaned the positive pin with isopropyl and cotton bud this morning. I wanted to make sure I did what I could before posting. I also cleaned the thread on the bottom cap (which was really dirty) as that can cause a problem. So wrong battery. Nuts!! Can anybody point me in the right direction for a decent/best battery?

Perpetua Wasn't sure what section I should have posted. Thank you I purchased it from an AAEC member, just waiting on his reply, but I assume he wouldn't send it broken. DiscoDes Thanks for the information mate. So are these CGR18650CH's flat top? If you type that battery in to Google, it is a highly recommended battery for Provari.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a terrible time trying to get a decent PV. First I get Vamo issues and now this.
Just purchased a second-hand Provari V2 and unfortunately I can't get it to power on. There is no flash of red from the button upon battery insertion, 10 presses isn't doing anything. Completely dead.
I have tried 5 different fully charged CGR18650CH's but to no avail. One of these batteries is brand new.
I looked around and noticed these batteries are highly recommended for the Provari so I assume they are a nipple top and not a flat top (as they look flat but with a nipple).
Also, I can only find one case of a Provari not powering up and this was because they guy was dropping the battery in, which made the positive pin move up. Now I don't have any rattle with a battery in but this screen is definitely not central in the window. It also looks like the red light inside the button is slightly off-centre. Is anybody else's like this?
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Steve.

Sorry, I can't find the part 1 on the forum. Guess you can send all the videos in MP4 to the oceanheart1988@hotmail.com, and please let me know your email address, so that I can remind my boss of replying to your email. Hi Legendgadget, I just received confirmation that you will be sending out a replacement. It seems you don't need email 1 of 3, although I can send it again? I can't thank you enough as I thought I would have to post it out to you.

My boss has talked to the factory, and he was told that the "02" error may be caused by the damage through shipping, or it was a result of misoperation when you put the batteries into the vamo.
When your case is the latter, the "02" occurs when you put the battery/batteries and press the biggest button on the body at the same time. The "02" is the PUB number of the manufacturer. If the vamo can't work properly after the error, you can restart it. If the vamo still can't work after the restart, you can ask us to change it for a new one. Hi, Thanks for the reply. Please read my post above. Also, the batteries have never been inserted incorrectly. It's something I have made sure of since Li-Ion batteries can be dangerous if used incorrectly. As you can tell from the details I have sent you here and in my emails, it's a lot more than the 'O2' or 'Lo' error. Can you confirm you have received my video's? Cheers. Steve. EDIT: I have just had confirmation from SunOcean that you have received my videos. Unfortunately you are still addressing either 'O2' issue OR 'Lo' issue. As above, you need to read my problems from day one. Here is email 1 of 3 in case you missed it....
Hi,
You asked for a video of my broken Vamo. I have had to split the video in to 3 parts. This is part 1.
I have also posted my problems on: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com. Nobody has a solution to my problem.
Unfortunately the Vamo no longer displays ‘02’ error code. It just displays ‘Lo’ battery now, even with fully recharged batteries. This is shown in video.
Here is the story so far, IMPORTANT……
1) Got the Vamo and it wasn’t firing all the time. 60% of time it fired, 40% of time it didn’t. Was getting a little hot when firing.
2) A few days and the Vamo was getting extremely hot. Burnt my fingers on the case!
3) A few more days and the Vamo was extremely hot AND it kept shutting down with ‘02’ error.
4) TODAY the Vamo will not fire at all. Just a ‘Lo’ is shown.
My Details:
Order Reference: ZFOWVVDIC- 03/23/2013 Product: VV650 VAMO V2

Hi, Thank you everyone for your help. Apologies for the delay, I was just recording a video of my faulty Vamo. Had to split the video to 3 parts and reduce the quality to get the clips to under 6mb. They have been sent to oceanheart1988@hotmail.com as requested. I can no longer get the 'O2' error. The extreme heat must have killed it. I now just get 'Lo' on the screen, this is with 4 different fully charged batteries. I have demonstrated this in the video I have sent i.e. you can see my charger and the charged batteries, each one is taken out and placed in Vamo, all with same result. Legendgadget. Thank you for your help, much appreciated. It's important for you to know that the Vamo has had problems from day one. Please read my emails I have just sent. This is not just about a 'Lo' warning on the screen. The Vamo was extremely hot until it ceased to work at all and wasn't firing all the time. Cheers.

Mono, Its the weekend, you might get a answer tomorrow when they are open. Does your wall planner look like this. Never give up, hang in there, fight for your rights. That would be really funny except I'm also waiting on resolution from VaporBreak in regards to my broken Vamo. Go on then, I couldn't help a small smile. Not sure about my attitude if I have to wait as long as monomach however.

Get some .2 kanthal or ni-chrome, that'll give you a good coverage of the wick inside the ceramic. If you'e going for dual coil then you need a mechanical mod and I'd start with two 2ohm coils for an over all resistance of 1ohm. will be quite intense on a freshly charged battery but is a good starting point Many thanks blakey. Was getting lost in the many wire variations people use. Purchased some 0.20mm kanthal A1 5m from eBay. £5 delivered. The A kanthal is much cheaper but it seems A1 is more stable at higher temperatures. I'm going with dual coil as recommended and will be using the Ithaka on my Provari and Vamo. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can pop my re-coil cherry

My Ithaka is on the way, and my first step in rebuildables. Jumped in at the deep end Just looking at wires.co.uk and noticed they have a few different types. What size/resistance wire would you guys recommend for the Ithaka for dual coil? Cheers.
