If the thread has gone too far and even the airflow controller will not work you could get replacement heads for the Vamo from StealthVape. I have not linked to it as they are showing OoS at the moment.
If the 510 thread goes west on a VTR then creeks and a lack of paddles springs to mind!!

On Pauls' Photo thread (part 2) ... the Mod in the outdoor shot. What is it? I've seen it before but just can't remember what it is

I have a Vamo in SS and it was my first 'proper' MOD, it's been dropped, kicked, dunked in a horse trough, fallen down the stairs with me and generally abused. The screen cover is so loose it falls out (must order a new one) but it still works. I also have a Z Max (Sigelei, tele, sloped top) which I just cannot get on with. Horses for courses I guess.

Just read a good review on the site and thought of something I saw a couple of days ago ... How about Troy Mini attached to a MODI think I could live with that combo

I am an 18mg chain vaper and my ADV is a commercial RY4 Deluxe with a Caramel Cappuccino in the evening. I have never found anything else that I either like or can identify the 'supposed' flavours. However recently I have been having a minor problem ... every now and again whatever I do (change atty, change coil or juice) nothing hits the spot. and I find myself thinking about having a quick fag. That would be a bad thing!! I tried mixing some time ago but, again, nothing I did tasted anything like I hoped it would. Annoyingly (very) one flavour I enjoyed immensely was a Dark Cherry that came with the SkyCig kit that got me into vaping in the first place. NO!! I am not going back to those. I think I have probably spent more on juice than I ever did on fags and am becoming very very frustrated. Knowing my luck I will find a juice that I can enjoy but costs more than Pluid and I cannot afford that sort of cost on a regular basis!!

Contrary to popular belief, some low quality (cheap) stainless steel alloys will show oxidization (rust). Just leave inexpensive SS cutlery in a dishwasher for a while and you will see rust!!

Thinking back, I don't think you could get the DNA screen anywhere close to the aperture in the VTR body. It may be possible to cut a new one above the VTR switch but to be honest it would look pretty ugly. If mine fails again and I cannot repair it I would consider two options.
1. Find another dead one and try and cannabalise (sp?) it. 2. Gut it, possibly fit a pair of 18650's in parallel (may have to drop down to 18500's) or just stick with a single 18650 and turn it into a straight Mech Mod.
It's a heavy old beast but I like it because of the 'protection' it gives to the atty, I've dropped, knocked and generally abused (maybe not quite the right word in the present climate) mine from day one and the 510 thread problem was my own fault.
If I had the dosh, I would without doubt, get a Billet Box and the Billet Bridge.

Sorry to hear that ... Maybe mine was just at the right time to get each connection ... However, it's worth the wait, I'm getting more flavour and clouds than with my Kayfun 3.1 (Clone) in fact I may let it go to finance a further Xplora !! I loved mine so much I bought a second one, and I'm so glad I did. I tend to use mine with my copper stingray, but you're right - the flavour and clouds are just great with them, plus guaranteed no leaks and so easy to maintain. Have you tried it as a dripper? That's this evenings treat, when the kids are delivered to their Scout camp and everything's quiet except for some Rock / blues vibes
