I am currently enjoying mechanical mods. I have a Roller (superb!), a KTS Storm (a bit fragile but very good value) and a Dream Draw Tube (very sturdy). I use them with high capacity Panasonic batteries and one of these: www.safercigs.co.uk/Short_Stop/cat705284_1592634.aspx for peace of mind. I also have a Sigelei flat top telescopic (VV/VW) which is brilliant too. I find I tend to use the mechanical mods with genesis type atomisers - the variable voltage/wattage devices suit my silica wicked atties (and Evods/Vivi Novas) best.

I'm old fashioned and I was bought up to believe that people are more important than things. If I'm in the middle of a personal transaction (where I'm dealing with another human being) and my mobile rings I deal with the person first and the machine takes second place. That's simply common courtesy. Of course I'm old, and I cannot understand all these people who seem to need a mobile in the same way as a fighter pilot needs his head up display - they seem incapable of walking down the street without some sort of electronic assistance! I do a responsible job, and I sometimes get important calls on my mobile - generally about 2 per year.... Everybody else has much more important/eventful life than me - they constantly get urgent and vital calls that they simply must take no matter what the circumstances! I don't envy them though

Firstly congratulations on giving up the ciggies! When it comes to smoking, it seems the 'experts' are best avoided. A recent poll showed that 40% of GPs actually believed that nicotine is a dangerous carcinogen - in fact recent studies show that it's on a par with caffeine and alcohol (quite innocuous except in extreme toxic doses). The whole of the NHS it seems is now only interested in statistics. The patients' individual needs no longer matter - only the particular NHS Trust's place in the league table. They need you to tick ALL of their boxes or they don't get points on the scoreboard. As far as they are concerned there is Only One Way (official NRT products). Now that we know that nicotine is not a deadly substance it's rather interesting to watch the behaviour of a lot of healthcare professionals and anti-smoking pressure groups. You might think that, now there is a far safer way for people to take nicotine, they would turn their full attention to getting cigarettes banned from sale - but no (not for a moment!) they much prefer to attack vaping (the safer alternative). They seem genuinely furious at the idea that we can have our cake and eat it (take nicotine through ecigs without killing ourselves). That says a lot about them and their real motivation - so much for the Hippocratic Oath! I wish you Good Luck in continuing to avoid tobacco - personally I think you should feel proud that you no longer inhale cigarette smoke, whatever route you used to get to that place! I tried conventional NRT and failed. If you wish to follow that path then I wish you good luck - but remember if you are not smoking cigarttes that is a huge victory in itself. Nothing else really matters

Tres Bon!
Tells it like it is - this nonsense is nothing to do with public health, and nothing to do with medicine. It is all about mega corporations worried that they might loose their cosy cartel arrangements and actually have to cope with some real world competition! They were all asleep at the wheel whilst vaping developed, and now they can't cope with the new commercial pressures. The one thing these guys can't tolerate is a successful market that they cannot control or dominate!
It also lifts the lid nicely on the pressure groups who claim to be so worried about smoking - they seem to contain a large number of behavioural fascists who believe we must all conform to their definition of 'normality', no matter what the cost. The concept that 'if it looks like a cigarette it is a cigarette' is no basis for public legislation, and only a moronic politician could think that it is!
I still think this whole nonsense will end in a court of law. Nicotine isn't a medicine - the only thing it 'cures' is a craving for nicotine.....

Many thanks for the info and opinions - much appreciated The Spheroid seems to be very popular and well thought of. They also seem to be very hard to get at the moment! I think the Spheroid is now firmly on my 'to do' list, as everyone I have spoken to says they are a brilliant vape. In the meantime I think I am going to buy my mate's Taifun because the price is very good, and I can sell it on again if I don't like it. I sounds as though the Taifun is at least in the same league as the Spheroid, and I like the fact that I can stick it on an ego battery for work. Thanks again for your help and insight!

My dog seems to enjoy the smell. She is definitely not put off in any way by vaping. It seems she is particularly enthusiastic about Egg Custard Tart flavour!

Looks very handy But I don't understand the '5 rapid clicks on/off' feature if it takes a removable 18350.... that can't work can it? ego board just a bigger battery I think its the board that would be the weak part and spoil a nice mod Thanks - that makes sense now I was assuming it was a mechanical mod like the Dingo....

Yep they only want our money. The 'caring about health' thing is just a front - if they really wanted us to live to be 100 they would do something about pensioner poverty and care for the elderly....
As has already been said this, unfortunately, sets a precedent - how long before the other European governments jump on the bandwagon?

Can anyone help me with opinions/user experiences with the Taifun 'spheroidalike' setup (it seems to be called the 'cotton tank' on the website).
Basically a mate has offered me a secondhand Taifun/cotton tank at a very cheap price (I couldn't buy a secondhand Spheroid for that price!). He's selling it because he now only uses mesh (genesis) style atties. It's in mint condition with a nice drip tip and blue foam etc.
I tend to use an ego battery at work, and I think the Taifun would fit nicely - but if it's a significantly poorer vape than the Spheroid then I would be better off taking my Lavatube to work and saving up for a Spheroid. Scott Bonner's review suggests it would work OK with an ego battery and seems to imply that it is broadly comparable with the Spheroid in terms of flavour and throat hit At home it would be used on the LT or mini Provari (I think it looks nice on Scott's Provari!)
Is there anybody out there who has used both the Spheroid and the Taifun? If so what do you think - bargain basement Taifun or more pricey Spheroid?
My mate is on holiday for the next week, so I have some time to think about it!
