If you're not prepared to shell out the cost of your own kit then you don't deserve to succeed. If you can afford to smoke at today's prices then you can certainly afford to vape! If they are not prepared to commit then they probably won't succeed.
If I'm honest I think spending quite a bit of money on vaping helped me to commit to it. I've even had vaping Christmas presents now - so going back to smoking is unthinkable.
Tell them to put their money where they want - tobacco or vaping - there is no such thing as a free lunch.
I don't have a very high opinion of any employed person who would sponge off a Pensioner! Tell them to grow some, develop longer arms, and open the (probably bulging) wallet!

Smokey's NemSemProCaraDingo (fitted with the Improved KayTaiIthOid) I've been searching but I can't find this on Fast Tech - could you put a link up please. Unfortunately (due to its requirement for multiple stacked 26650 batteries) Fast Tech will not be carrying the NemSemProCaraDingo. They estimated delivery time by China Post at approximately 9 years

I've been vaping for fractionally less than a year, and it seems to me that innovation has largely been driven by the 'enthusiast sector' of the market. In effect it is 'men in sheds' and not large corporation who have led the way. Personally I find that an attractive proposition, but inevitably in a young market we have not seen companies committing to massive R & D to generate innovation. Given the current uncertainly surrounding the future of vaping it would be a huge gamble to spend serious money developing a truly better refillable device (just in time for the politicians to potentially ban it).
If the market is left alone and allowed to grow though I'm sure it will happen. For many years all car engines used a carburettor - nowadays sophisticated computer-monitored fuel injection is favoured. It took plenty of time and R & D investment to bring that innovation. Unfortunately the 'big boys' (who could commit to serious R & D if they wanted to) will only invest in cigalikes because it suits their business model and experience.
I think we're still in the early days of vaping. If you look back to the early days of air travel (or even motoring!) you will see the difficulties and inconveniences that people had to put up with. Nowadays we can jump on a plane or get in the car and it's comparatively painless. If I think back 50 years I can remember my father (a hi fi enthusiast) building speakers roughly the size of a wardrobe to get the sort of sound he wanted - today I get a far better sound from speakers a fraction of the size. It's called progress, but it takes time, investment, and the prospect of a flourishing market that will appreciate and buy the 'better mousetrap'. We don't have that prospect right now. Until a clear future for vaping emerges it will be the men in sheds who continue to lead the way. Consequently the 'best vape' will involve a good measure of user involvement and input.
As I approach the end of my first year of vaping I am using rebuilables all the time and enjoying them immensely. I have had to learn to adapt my vaping technique, but it was so worth it! Vaping is different from smoking (and much more enjoyable in my view). Like many others I have good days (when my builds go well) and not so good days (thank goodness for the Spheroid!) but I have no great manual dexterity. If I can do it anyone can - if they want.
I'm probably non-typical, but I actually believe that the 'fiddle factor', the 'having to learn how to do it' element, the actual challenge of having to learn how to set these devices up and get them working properly has helped to take my mind off the rather singular fact that I'm not smoking the normal 30 to 40 fags a day....

I'd also commission a new state of the art rig - Smokey's NemSemProCaraDingo (fitted with the Improved KayTaiIthOid) would be an awesome device capable of changing juices instantly, and would also incorporate a bright neon solenoid-operated digit to give the good news to the anti-vaping lobby.... It would of course cost a fortune and be delivered in designer-distressed bubble wrap

Like Shiny I don't really have a favourite, but my personal Oscar nominations are: Mini Provari (18350 mode) and Spheroid Semovar and Kayfun 3.1 Just GG with Kick 2 and Ithaka (dual coiled) 69 mod and Zenith dripper It may be wishful thinking, but it seems to me that each of these has a 'certain something' and/or suits a particular juice exceptionally well - or perhaps it is my deep subconscious desperately trying to justify the regular attacks of shinyitis to which I am prone

For me personally - no! But I don't need one.... I have a Provari mini and a Semovar. I know the DNA20 is supposed to be the dog's danglies, but I never seem to go over 10 watts (sometimes much less) so I'm not convinced it would really benefit me. I know some cloud chasers are vaping at 17 watts or whatever, but, unless somebody succeeds in convincing me that DNA20 set at 10 watts is better than say the Semovar's Nivel chip at 10 watts then I'm out! Actually I'm getting more and more interested in mechanical mods having recently experienced a mate's Kalafan with a low resistance coil. The flavour was as good as anything I've experienced so far.... Slightly shocked though that the parts for that mod cost £130 (I would have guessed much less!) There again that Kalafan is just a tube with a bottom switch (and I think that cost well over £100!) so value is perhaps very subjective in vaping.... When I smoked I never bought an expensive lighter, but vaping is a different ballgame it seems

These Pannies are the best and longest lasting batteries I have used. I use them in mech mods with a fuse and in electronic mods too.

It's gotta be good that at least one European nation has stood up for common sense and broken ranks. As I see it Italy is actually being honest about vaping. The government needs the dosh - so they're taxing it. They also see the health benefit - so they are allowing public vaping with minimum restriction. Obviously in an ideal world you would prefer no tax on vaping, but that's probably too much to hope for.... ETA: Maybe Silvio has shares in Liqua - Bunga Bunga juice anyone?

Generally to walk more and drive less, loose some weight, cut down on alcohol (except on Jan 10th when I celebrate my first non-smoking year!), and do more home mixing I may even try to resist buying shiny stuff .... although maybe that's a bridge too far

'Still Open all Hours' sadly proved that even a great actor needs a decent script to work with (which he didn't get). Mrs Smokey and I try to have a few unwatched DVDs for the Christmas period. Apart from Downton Abbey we have not watched at all except for the news and weather.
