+1 for the Vamo, I have the v2 and love it. Re the vw/vv, go vw everytime as once you know what wattage works for you you can change atomisers and not have to worry about changing the voltage to get the taste if they have different ohm heads. You'll need at least 2 18350 batteries each, on average mine lists me about half to three quarters of a day, an 18650will last all day though, but it is big in this mode. Currently I'm using a protank on mine. I'd also suggest going for the SS rather than the black chrome as some peeps have said it wears easily, although I like the used look!

Ok, so time for some advice please, I gave this a go at the weekend and initially when I checked it on my Vamo it came out to 1.6ohms then when I test fired it it dropped to 1ohm which was too low for the Vamo to fire. This was both dry and with eliquid on. I figured I needed to test fire it to ensure I had good glow on the coils. I noticed the kanthal glow up the positive leg and it dropped almost as it reached the SS mesh I think that is what is known as having a hot spot. Try some of Todd's videos on you tube, he doesn't quite explain it all, but he covers a lot of it. Hope it helps. ok, he's not working with protanks, but it does cover some of the carry on with coils. Hopefully someone else will know a lot more and rescue us both soon! Thanks mate will try some and see if that helps

Funny enough I am thinking about getting one of these for when I go to the states in December rather than taking the Vamo/protank. I want something that is lighter/more discrete for when we are out and about. Good to know they are as good as I had thought.

I had my last planned stinky on 31 jan 2012. I had been talking to one of the guys on our fishing syndicate at our xmas meal in 2011 and he told me about his ecig tank set up and mentioned totally wicked. Went on their site in Jan purchased an ego-c with two bottles of ejuice, 5ml in tobacco and mental. Felt a bit of a prat the first day smoking it but found I didn't crave fans. But the 10ml ran out quicker than I expected. Got in touch with another site he suggested for juice and they got it to me next day but I did buy a pack of 10 to get me through. That was about 6th Feb 2012 and I have not touched a stinky since. The second site kindly sent me a fog 10 device to try out and it was so much better as the tank was bigger, then got a twist battery and then 3 vivi novas that lasted me for a year. Decided to treat myself on my "anniversary" to a protank and then a Vamo as I wanted to rewick it myself and needed to check ohms and all that. Last month I moved into the rba arena with a Magneto and rsst which I love. I have one issue in that my missus still sees this as smoking no matter how I explain so still do not vape openly in front of her (it's a respect thing!) so mixing juices is a no no. On the positive side I have helped "convert" 5 peeps to vaping so spreading the word at any opportunity! My biggest worry for the future is the attempt to legislate on ecig, as I do not know what I would if it came in. As said before its the mechanics of smoking/vaping that I enjoy. Good luck to all starting on this journey stick with it and it will pay dividends

Did you fold over the end of the mesh or just roll it straight up? Figure it's easier to ask you if you have done it rather than making the mistake myself! And did you use a flavour wick? I know Jim said he didn't but interesting to see any different views Well, being a left over stub from RSST wicking, I had to just roll it a little harder to tighten, around a pin as I said! If doing from scratch I roll them around a suitable former, like a needle or something, drill bit even, just to get it started, then roll it in between thumbs and fingers to tighten it. Can't believe I'm telling you this, I did not know what vaping was 10-11 weeks ago! LOL I did it as Jim explained above, not a straw but left a small hole in middle. Hope it helps & good luck. I know I only did my first mesh wick last weekenf

Just a question as I am mulling this over, is there any issues with shorts with the mesh touching the metal head? Got thinking about this after watching Mr busardos cleaning the taifun vid

Sounds good advice I will try that next time I recoil, it could be that I sort of chain vape that it gets quite warm. As always this is a learning game so advice is always appreciated!

Glad we could help in some way, like you say there is so much to learn, I've been vaping for about 19 months now and am still learning. Regarding your reading of the ohms for the head that sounds about right. Getting that indicates two things, 1-the head is connected to the Vamo ok. 2-the head does not have a short, if it did it would read 9.9 The only reason I suggested ecig Cabin was you could get the batteries in a day or two rather than the 2 weeks odd from FT

Hi Sal, for batteries I have been getting mine from ukecigcbin. I have the Efest 18650 and 18350 (red ones) both button tops, I also bought a Panasonic 18650 last time which I am very happy with. I run a protank with my Vamo and haven't had any problems. The protank has air channels in the base so airflow shouldn't be. A prob if it's screwed all the way down, if you have unscrewed it slightly maybe it's not making a proper connection to the mod so the coil isn't heating up causing you to get juice coming up I would double check that the head is properly screwed into the base and you get a resistance value when you hold down the right button. Not sure if that helps but let us know how you get on

Thanks for this info, I have been wanting to try non-res/res wire for my protank due to thescorching or the gromit issue to this info is very timely, and the price looks really good. Out of interest how long is the res wire part? Just so I can compare to the amount of wire I'm wrapping at the mo. And it cheaper than buying a wire joiner,

If you were having issues with Wicking is it possible you wrapped to coils too tight strangling the wick? If that was possible you could try laying a needle or straightened paper clip along the wick when to u wrap it. Because when the juice hits the wick the wick will expand slightly, I might be way off but it's worth bearing in mind.
