NiChrome is a nickel chrome alloy. Kanthal contains chrome, aluminium and iron. Kanthal is favoured for its reduced expansion under heating so keeps your coil shape. I've also read it has a better flavour. I have tried both and this seems to be true, although I am not happy with my SS (stainless steel) mesh wick. I have read that 500 grade SS mesh wicks better and improves taste. I'm still having problems with harsh taste and low vapour production (currently waiting on some silica wick, apparently this produces better flavour according to some users.)
It takes a while to learn how to build a tasty set up. I haven't achieved this yet with my RSST atomiser, still use eGo-C and vision V3 while I learn how to do RBAs (rebuildable atomisers) properly. I have a feeling that the single piece of mesh supplied with my RSST is pants. Or I haven't oxidised it properly or something. It's gonna take many builds to get it right!
There are plenty of YouTube vids showing a variety of techniques - get stuck in and try them all. You'll eventually find something that works for you. Vapingthings.com supply taster packs of wick and wire so you can try lots of set ups before committing.

Just reading this. Has anyone tried it? I'm gonna have a bash since I'm not too keen on using the mesh wick (although it's probably user error). Can anyone see any potential problems with the above technique, or anything you peeps would do differently? |

Hi, I have been lurking around your forum for a few weeks now so thought I'd better say hello.
Thanks for the collective wisdom here, I've learned a lot since I started vaping in early April (IMO knowledge is the most valuable thing we have - but I'm a physics teacher so may be biased). I had been fed up with the stink of the stinkies for around a year prior to my first vaporiser and was over the moon with the range of flavours and mods available (I am a huge nerd so quickly got into mixing - I still suck at it). I never really smoked that much, just one or two on an evening, but have noticed a big difference in lung performance while cycling (I also quit cars two years ago).
