Hi ancienthermit. Cartomisers are older technology now. Most of us started off on them but few now use them. the ones you have chosen are amongst the best and a good buy if you decide to go that way. Why we don't use them anymore is that the filler material heats up as the coil heats up and the flavour of your juice can be affected by this. The way people combat this nowadays is to use cartomisers in a tank, where they are constantly getting a flow of juice and avoiding the taste changes that occur as your cartomiser material drys out during use. Once clearomisers came along, we started noticing flavours better. Yes, some say flavours are muted but I'd ask - compared to what? Muted compared to direct dripping, use of rebuildables but other than that they provide a great everyday vape. I mostly vape fruit flavours and never had a tank crack until 15 months in when I made a particularly potent home brew!!! They really are the best way to sample flavours as you describe. If you like a warmer vape, go for top coil ones like CE5's and iClear16's. If you like a cooler vape go for a bottom coil like an evod. Look after them and they will last longer than a regular cartomiser and give you a cleaner flavour. I also found them less fuss than filling a cartomiser - was glad to get rid od having to wait for juice to soak in, filling with syringes, condom method, etc. What a faff. Clearomisers - unscrew and fill. Done. Good luck on your search!

I have to to say that this is my favourite part of the forum and I'm really grateful that there are those of you more savvy than me in terms of social networking and accessing blog info, etc as I just wouldn't be up to speed without you. The information you have shared has inspired me to be politically active for the first time in my life and because of you I have written to MPs, met with my MEP and spread the word. So although I have not posted about it, I'm sure you have affected others in this way too. I have been able to discuss the situation with people from all walks of life that I meet in my daily life and often it's these discussion that spark off a bigger groundswell of opinion than anything else. So thanks for giving me the info to be able to do this. It makes me think about a certain you tube vid I watched a couple of years back which demonstrated quite well what a ridiculous situation we have put ourselves in by supporting statism but it always reminds me that we as the many do indeed hold the power, if we want it, over the few who try to place stupid controls on our lives. Thanks again to all of you who contribute to this part of the forum.

I don't use FA tobacco's but their other flavours I've been mixing at between 8-10% for quite strong flavour. I think the tobacco's are generally recommended at between 5-10%. I know some nutzilla fans that mix that at 7%, so that might be a good starting point? If you're totally not sure, John will answer an email with guidance for each flavour. Percentages used to be on the site but I can't see it now either. Edit - make that from 2% for tobaccos- some of the ones you have chosen are very strong. Pre mixes like nutzilla are basically steeped blends that are ready to vape.

Please let us know how you get on as this problem, if vaping related, it should be easily fixable. I think everyone's given you a plan of action: 1. Try a different juice brand. 2. Increase the VG content of your juice. 3. Try a bottom coil clearomiser, like an EVOD. 4. If you get into building coils, build you own with kanthal instead of nickel wire. (every thing you put on top of a battery has coiled wire to heat your eliquid). Good luck sealover1, keep on with it - you will find the right thing for you - you don't have to suffer. Now you've made such a great start, don't give up on it. And as the forum says, its the cigs you don't smoke that matters, not the ones you do.

If my battery died I'd be worried! Why do most of us have back ups in that case? I could happily wait a few hours if I had to. (and have). I don't go out loaded with backups, though I have plenty at home. Horses for courses an all that!!

Lol. Too right. I remember going cold turkey once and flipping out in a pub then searching for the nearest ciggie shop!! Now, I'd just shrug my shoulders if my battery died-wouldn't bother me.

That's my favourite coil size - great flavour, warmer vape, slighty harder on battery life but I think it's worth it. Give it a go and see if you notice any difference!

Could it be something to do with nickel wire in your coil? What set up are you using?

Mmmm...interesting take on the addiction thing. I always say I'm addicted to nicotine but I think I might start rephrasing that as others do correlate addiction to something that's bad for you....

Brushed finish between 400-800 grade depending on how brushed you want it. Just did my fourth AGA-T today by hand on my battery drill. Took about 10 minutes and this involves removing the knurls too. That looks fanatastic - I'm glad it can be done - got some wire wooland graded paper now...just waiting for my aga to empty of juice....it's gonna break my heart - got a cracking coil and wick in there at the mo!!! But that's definitely the finish I'm after! Great to have inspiration to tinker from you guys!!

Yup - black O rings not the old red ones- vaping on it now - did the 'hold it by the drip tip and shake' test and it stayed on fine - even on the svd which is heaavvy. Oh good, thank you One last thing from me - be careful with the dual coiling. Dual coils tend to give sub ohm vapes and you need a mech mod for that. It's likely the Vamo won't fire below around 1.3 ohms. Practice single coils first and then read some of the threads here in the rebuildables section - the guys here have tried everything and have some great tips and videos to share - just ask on there and you'll get the help you need. Good luck and hope you like the attie.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump - there are some great comments already, people have shown real restraint in the face of a total prat. It would help if some more comments could be left though. The more the merrier!

I got mine from ivapour elixir. ....never liked it very much I must say. i.m.o. it's more of a full on vape machine than something to test flavours on, so I'm firmly in the 306 atomizer camp now. a while back, I got an octopus and fell for exactly the same deal a 2nd time. DJS - must learn from experience..... +1 for a 306 if you just want to test flavours out.
