Hi guys, thanks for the help over the weekend.

I used juicemeup and managed to make up 30ml at 30.09mg, which i then used to make 5x10ml of juice with VG and flavour (10%) - I'm using the Hangsen flavours from Misteliquid which recommends 5-7% for DIY so maybe I've over used the flavour a bit (although I did only do 5 individual flavours rather than any fancy mixing).

Anyway, my question is what now? I know I have to let the juice steep but for how long exactly? Are we talking days or weeks? And when is the best time to try out the new juice to see what it tastes like and if I need to let it steep longer?

I'll be honest I got a bit impatient last night and tried some in my Evod and it was completely tasteless!

The problem is, I took it upon myself to add 10ml of the 10mg PG to the remaining 40ml of our 18mg USA mix and I think I've ruined it! I had been using that as a base with the Hangsen flavours at 5% which had been ok but since I added the extra 10mg to it doesn't taste the same

I know DIY can be hit and miss but I was hoping to make the USA mix last until the new juice was ready to try rather than buying in some more pre-mixed!

Will that calculate the ratio of 54mg 10mg and VG and flavour so I can mix like I was planning?

Want to end up with an 18mg mix

Just received my order of goodies to give my first DIY mixing a go and LT Ecigs have messed up my order!!

They've sent me a 54mg nic base which is what I ordered but instead of standard PG they've sent me a 10mg PG base.

Is it possible to use the 10mg to dilute down the 54mg (I've got VG too) in a juice recipe or will I have to wait for the standard PG to arrive next week?

If I can't use the 10mg in a DIY mix, I've got 40ml of 18mg USA mix left over, can I add the 10mg PG to this to make it last a bit longer?

The other thing I wanted to ask is about the flavour concentrates.

I got some Hangsen flavouring from MistEliquid which I am using with their USA Mix 18mg as the base.

There is a subtle hint of the flavour in with the tobacco base but am I right in thinking that using the same flavours with an unflavoured base will give very different flavour results?

I’ve been using fizzy cola, red cherry and coconut and my wife has been using a mix of RY4/Virginia so think I will give these a go in the unflavoured base first.

I've read the stickies, I've downloaded the calculator and I'm 99% sure that I know what's required!

Had a good look at the vendor list and found that Postmodern seem to be well priced and everything in stock (without having to order everything from different suppliers) and this is what I've got in my basket:

Apart from the flavouring is there anything else that I need to do some DIY juice making?

Now, once that lot arrives and I get some flavours it seems (forgive my ignorance) very easy after that?

Enter all the amounts in the calculator, stick the right amounts in the dropper bottle, steep, test and vape?

Is that really all there is to it?

I've checked and double checked Des - definitely not damaged.

The heads on her Evods are now only a couple of days old as I changed them both to be on the safe side; the 2 I'm using are about a week old but like I say I'm not having anywhere near the amount of issues that she is.

Does the 3mm wick sit on top of the factory sent flavour wick or do you take this out completely and just put the 3mm over the coil?

Whilst we are still vaping and keeping off the stinkys we’ve had a couple of frustrating vaping days and starting to wonder if we are doing something wrong!!

The main problems still revolve around the evod’s and this is what’s making me think it’s us because everything I read just says how great they are – I can’t believe that we’d be unlucky enough to end up with 4 dud ones!!

My OH is having the most problems – full tank leaked in her handbag yesterday (this was her fault though, some how lost the rubber grommet on top of the wick!!), lots of gurgling and juice getting in the mouthpiece. After the bag leak the spinner decided it wasn’t going to work but luckily I’ve managed to fix that!

Yesterday she was very close to buying fags but she’s got so in to vaping that she didn’t want to just give up.

The main issue I’m having is that the throat hit reduces after 2 or 3 draws unless I crank the spinner right up on the voltage.

I’ve checked all the evod heads, the wicks, seals, rubber gaskets etc etc and everything looks fine to me. I’ve filled them up correctly, I’ve cleaned down the centre tube after filling to ensure no juice in there, tightened the head up and not over tightened on the battery.

The problem is that nearly every day I get a phone call to say her evod is leaking and in some cases spitting out juice down the mouthpiece, things that very rarely happen to the ones I am using.

So, is there a technique that you’re supposed to use when vaping? I watched a youtube clip last night that suggested long gentle draws (it said so you can’t hear yourself sucking through the air holes if that makes sense) so I’ve left her to try that as I noticed she was taking short and hard draws like smoking a stinky.

I’ve started the day doing the same and it has improved the TH issue and I seem to be getting it on each draw now.

And finally, when we started vaping we both vaped about 1 ½ evod worth of juice but yesterday I got through 3!! Is it normal to start vaping more once you get started? I feel like I never put the thing down when I’m at home because it’s so easy to sit in front of the tv and vape away.

I’m working on the basis that 3 evods of juice is still a lot better than 20 roll ups!!

Sorry for the long ramble but we are so determined to make this work and need a bit of guidance from the experts!!
