I think it's a great idea, I have had a go at recoiling a Protank with 'some' success it would be great to have somewhere to go for simple instructions and a list of things needed all in one place!

You're most welcome Sal, that's what this forum is all about I really can't trust myself to add things to a FT cart, otherwise my OH would divorce me on the grounds of squandering funds! I have Protanks now too, and love them. I wasn't too sure about the metal tips to begin with, but I quite like them now. How I will feel about them in the middle of winter is anther thing entirely!! Hahaha there are distinct advantages to being single!! Trouble is it means I have no one to rein me in and save the bank balance I just tried a new juice in a clean CE4 with a plastic tip, and I really didn't like the tip, in fact I think it makes my mouth sore now which makes no sense! Maybe we need to invent a device to warm the metal drip tips in the colder months,we might make a fortune - or not

Hi loobiebloo and welcome, I'm new here myself and can echo your post entirely, I have had so much fantastic advice, no one has ever made me feel silly for asking the most basic questions. As I've already said before, I feel like I have joined a big happy family here! I am sure you will very soon feel exactly the same

Hello again! After my first thread asking for advice on upgrading from CE4/Ego, I decided on a Vamo and this is what I bought link Thanks chykensa (except I can't get the drip tip to stay on the DCT but that's another story I guess!) Glad you are pleased with the Vamo, Sal, I still love mine! You have had plenty of advice on batteries, and I too use the unprotected Panasonics from FT, so nothing new to offer! I have found that not all drip tips are equal - it might be worth trying another one in the DCT as another make might fit a bit more snugly. You can pick up plastic or anodised aluminium ones from many vendors for 2 or 3 quid. Hi chykensa, yes I am very happy with my Vamo and am very grateful to you for giving me the link, I would have faffed about making my mind up for ever otherwise! I've put a couple of stainless steel drip tips in my FastTech cart that i hope will fit a bit better, I must admit that since using the Protanks I really don't like plastic tips at all! Thanks again for all your help Sal

i got these[there 18350] with my little old vamo back in December and there still going strong, when i finally get to order something from FT i will get some more, yes i stil use em stacked occasionaly!!! but they also come in very hand for some other mods i have reason not used FT,start with few bits next its near on £100,so not hit the buy button yet lol......when Robby finally gets back must give him a slap www.fasttech.com/products/1420/10003762/1271001-icr18350-18350-3-7v-900mah-rechargeable-lithium FT £2.88 each 2@ £5.66 ukcabin £5.49 each Thank you andy01424, are those the size batteries I would need to use the Vamo without the middle bit? I know what you mean about Fasttech, I should never have looked at that site, I spend hours looking through thinking 'that looks cool' and before I know it there is £50 worth in my cart! The worst of it is that I don't even know what half of the stuff is yet, though I am learning fast Sal

Glad we could help in some way, like you say there is so much to learn, I've been vaping for about 19 months now and am still learning. Regarding your reading of the ohms for the head that sounds about right. Getting that indicates two things, 1-the head is connected to the Vamo ok. 2-the head does not have a short, if it did it would read 9.9 The only reason I suggested ecig Cabin was you could get the batteries in a day or two rather than the 2 weeks odd from FT Thank you again , it has been working fine since I last posted so I'm very happy That is very useful about the ohms reading too, I didn't know that a short would read 9.9! I have two batteries, that came with the Vamo so I hope I'll be alright for a while, it was just that I thought if I was ordering from FT anyway I'd get some more. It is very useful to know somewhere good here though in case I need some fast! Sal

@ sal First thing is that your links are not working. Regarding fasttech batteries they do some very good 18650 Panasonic batteries which will suit the vamo www.fasttech.com/products/0/10001980/1141100-panasonic-ncr18650b-rechargeable-3400mah-3-7v These are unprotected batteries which is what the vamo requires as the mod itself has inbuilt protection. Protected batteries are only for mechanical mods that have no inbuilt protection. Fasttech don't do any decent 18350 batteries , only rubbish ultrafire and trustfire (the fire gives you a clue!). The sony batteries that came with your kit probably are genuine sony as not all sony and panasonic batteries are marked as such. Regarding the protank, gapy360 is right about the loosening off of the tank probably causing the gurgling. Regarding not getting a draw when screwed down , do you mean that the draw is impossibly tight or that the atty is not firing? If not firing and you have tried it with a few heads this would indicate a connection problem between the protank and the 510 connector on the vamo. If just an impossibly tight draw then I am at a loss unless the airway is blocked somehow. Hello @freefromsmoking Thank you for the link, that's 2 votes for those so I shall get them I think as there are a few more things I want to try from FT! Thanks too for explaining about protected batteries, makes sense now. Re the Protank, at first i wasn't getting any draw at all! I think I must have made a mistake putting it all back together as it seems better now. There is so much to learn but thanks to all you helpful and lovely people I feel as if I am getting there Many thanks again for taking the time to help me

It's possible that your particular pro tanks air hole is being restricted on the vamo. With any bottom coil device the airflow affects how the juice wicks. If its restricted, or if you do a fast draw, the air speed increases, faster moving Air has a lower pressure than still air. As the air in your tank is still, it will have a constant pressure. The reason this matters is because it is that difference in pressure that helps to push juice Into your wick. So if you are getting flooding there are a couple of things you can try. If you can reposition things to allow fora the maximum airflow then that should help, The other is a slower lighter drag perhaps even not fully sealing your lips around the mouthpiece. Hello markm, thank you for all those great explanations and tips, it makes a lot of sense and is a great help to a newbie like me! Sal
