How's your other half, jaysey? All well? Has he stopped coughing yet? (G.A. for a heavy smoker = *serious* irritation of the lungs )

Hi smokebelch, welcome to the forum £6 (inc P&P) sounds too cheap, TBH. The main problem with these cheapo starter kits is the battery. You may be lucky, it might last months and months, but (IMO) you'd be better off spending about £20-25 on a pukka kit with 2 good batteries. You need 2, because sod's law says that your battery will run out just when the cravings hit you!

Hi arasben and welcome - sounds like you've got your vaping paraphenalia well sorted, judging by that list

chill36 - don't worry, you'll love it. And I reckon you could buy EIGHT from FT for the price of that rather gorgeous looking Viggo.

Crazy? - maybe. Since when did the old maxim 'the law is an ass' cease to apply? We may well disagree with the laws/regulations that apply here but we have to abide by them, until they are changed. The last thing we need is inappropriate and draconian legislation of our little vice. (Again, IMO)
We both agree about the simple fact that vaping is the best way of stopping smoking (by far!) but I hope you can see why I think the vendors of e-cigs and -especially- e-liquids should steer clear of claiming this, at this time.

OneDay - I think we would be very unwise to push for the promotion of vaping as a 'cessation aid' as we run the risk of getting mired in all the rules & regulations that the producers of patches, gum, sprays and those silly plastic dummies have to endure. We all know vaping works far better and we're not shy of telling smokers how well it works, how to get started, and what to avoid. Word of mouth is ultimately better than any advertising, IMO.

Bad luck, ady Best to spend a few quid more & get a decent battery. Torchy's opinions about cheapos (on any of his eBay listings) make good reading: the man knows his stuff, for sure. He says you should never buy a battery with 'fire' in its name for use with an e-cig

I bloody love PTFE tape, it's so versatile. Shame it's so expensive Another of Willy's Hints & Tips: If your drip-tip is a bit loose, try wrapping PTFE tape round its end. I even use it for plumbing Anyone remember Viz's Top Tips? My favourite was: "A handful of wasps in an old cigar tube makes an ideal emergency vibrator" That is just so wrong, on several levels...

Hi meeee, I have had the same problem with my Aerotank, and even worse with my Ithaka clone. A strip of PTFE tape sorted them both out. Obviously, trial & error to get the resistance just right but as I very rarely change the setting, it looks like being a permanent fix. I just scraped off the excess with a scalpel so it's invisible. Job done

VTR for me, despite the weight. Very easy menu & controls and really rugged.

Congrats on your first month snow - no mean feat, and worth celebrating. Nice write-up as well. Don't be put off making coils because of the blowtorch - don't tell Super-Shiny but I never use one when making my coils, and I use RBAs and RDAs exclusively, so I make a fair few! Something for the future, not something to worry about now. Just keep doing what you're doing and enjoy it. Agreed - I only use my torch when making 'compressed' coils. (My new ceramic-tipped tweezers from FT are the canine's testes for this job, BTW) Normally I just heat the wire red-hot with a common or garden cig lighter ( left over from my stinky days ) before starting the coil. It takes most of the springiness out of it and encourages it to stay wrapped close to the wick.
