Thanks enjay, I have ordered a mandrel now and will also need to order the needle recommended to see if that help, they are not torched but held in the flame and pressed. Guess I will have to keep trying. I tank once I get the mandrel I can be more certain that I am using a 2mm circumference to begin with! A 2mm drill bit is only a quid or two from local hardware shops, you could get one for your own. As for the ohms, if I'm aiming for about 1.8ohms I'm happy with anything between say 1.5 and 2.1 or so, I don't think you'd notice much of a difference between them. You know you can use your device to get the coil red hot, release the switch then squeeze with your tweezers too. Works as well as anything else. But yeh, I think I'd take the thing apart and check the wires are firmly held, also check the coil is off the deck and not catching at all. Most coils can be rescued with a bit of fiddling.

The coil can end up warped if the bit isn't a tight enough fit or the coil hasn't been torched but it doesn't matter, need to figure out why your ohms are changing though, that's not right. Juice makes no odds as the wire is just the same, maybe a bit of a loose connection on one of the wire screws?
As said though the ohms are fine for vaping at that level.

Couldn't wait any longer so I have used the wire and wick that came with my Squape and built my very forst coil!! I made do with tools that were hanging around, I really just wanted to get the feel for it, wound the wire on a jewellers screwdriver, the wire is very thin guage so I knew I'd need to have a good few turns, I lost count but stopped when I thought it felt right, put it into the Squape, managed to thread some wick through (not easy because the coil being of thin guage was flopping all over the place, measured the ohmage and I got 5.5ohm... oops, a little high, still lets see what it does, AND IT WORKS OK it takes a second or two to warm up, but I am now vaping on my very first attempt at a coil This has taught me a few things: 1. I need to stock up on the RIGHT materials for the job 2. Its not as hard as I thought it was 3. My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be But all in all I'm proud of myself tonight Nice one. A handy thing to remember is thinner wire equals higher resistance, think of it like water through a straw, the fatter the straw the more water can get through quicker and easier. So thinner wire means less wraps to get the same sort of ohms as thicker wire. Vape on!

Thank you so much everyone for the welcomes, wow that's pretty special. Well I guess I have made it through my first day :-) I went for a cool beer after work with the missus and I,be not had a cig since about 8am. And I have not caughed all day. It can't be this pleasant to do it . can it. :-) I will keep you posted although I expect this may be a common scenario lol. Hmmmmmmm when should I try this watermelon flavour,? Keep it real Back in my hole. Tobes Lol I love seeing the daft look on peoples faces when they realise vaping actually works, had the same look myself at one time

Thats what i thought, so in theory i have made a years worth say for one tank ugh...better get vaping fast so that i can try some lower ohms! You need a dripper lol, you can bang a coil in it minutes and try it out, loads of room in some for all sorts of coils, wonky and straight. Anyway the fact you made a coil makes me smile, I love it when people have a go. I got a flippin genesis within a month of starting vaping and spent hours messing with it before I eventually got it to work right but now I can bang out the perfect coil in minutes every time. It's so worth learning to do imo

I vape anywhere I can get away with it, usually cloud the place out at home which does annoy the OH but hey ho, can't be superman ALL the time. Sneaky vapes in shops if possible with the kayfun, I like the challenge lol.
Studies have shown that anything passive is so insignificant they can't even measure it so kids can hang out if they like and I'll carry on vaping. I even explain to friends kids what I'm doing and why, they're not stupid, not until they're adults then they might be but as kids they're generally pretty bright.
Most non smokers like the smell of caramel and toffee so I never get complaints.

I have now noticed that more than a few times - I let smoking friends or colleagues try my vaping gear - generally the protank ( what else is new ) - now some of them, and some of which are heavy smokers coughed a lot with a 'OMG - that is strong' - more coughing to be followed - and I am vaping now on 12mg however others really like it and have no problems what hubby and I observed : those who smoke, like we used to smoke - having the smoke first in the mouth before inhaling it - are fine with vaping - those , who inhale directly into the lungs cough and cough has anybody else observed something like that I was vaping one of those aspire bdc things for a bit and my mate who's a smoker took a draw and coughed like anything, recently he took a big cloud from my kayfun and didn't cough at all lol. Same juice, same strength. Go figure

nice and cheap too Yeh, it's a superb dripper for the money and looks ace on the nemesis, air flow is easy to adjust too and there's plenty of room for set up and juice.

one of you crazy mo fos help me please not daft low say .5 upwards ooh and a nice cheapo dripper reccomendation with them little holes in the posts aswell thanks Get one of these attackoftheclones.co.uk/index.php?id_product=35&controller=productThey're awesome, set it up with dual coils of your .32mm wire and it's just superb. Personally I'm running dual parallel coils at 0.2 ohms but less wraps = higher ohms. Parallel coils are just the wire doubled up then wrapped so a 5 wrap coil looks like a 10 wrap coil but has half the ohms but twice the surface area.
