Thanks again guys - have been you tubing like mad.... should have made notes though - find myself watching something already viewed 3 hours before. Lost in a flurry of info about leaking bits, spring centre posts, refilling through holes.... So - I am going to list all your suggestions and start again lol - this time will make notes .. on the plus side got diverted to looking at kicks in the middle of it all - bought 3 from evolv (version1) so am further forward on one front! Back after some more review watching

Just bought 3(!) from evolv direct : www.evolvapor.com/shop.php - the original kick is about halfway down the page. They charge $19.99 +$1.50 p&p per item - comes to just under £13 per kick

Thanks dave - that's great! Will look at the genuine evolv only then. I have only one mech mod at the mo - plan to have 2 (using 18650s) for when the govt clamp down. Preparing for the day when my beloved VTR stops working! - yep backups for backups etc Found the version 1s on sale for about £12 - will look around further just in case, but it looks like a good price especially compared to the kick 2. Then comes the decision about how many to get; min of 2 for sure - but spares? - then spares for spares?? - eeek. Prob stick with 2 - by the time I need to replace them the kick 3 will be out and the version 2s will be cheaper

Hi all Looking at getting my mech mod protected, so .... As I vape at no higher than 9 watts would the kick 1 be jus t as good for me as the kick 2? Do they last long? - are they a once a year or once a month sort of expense - or do they last forever? Are any of the non evolv kicks worth looking at? Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere many times - I tried searching for awhile here but keep getting a "can't connect to server" message which is weird as I can read new posts ??? Thanks

Super-Shiny- doh - sorry to get you explaining that again - I actually posted the wrong link - it's the unprotected ones I have! Think I'll go back to bed and start the day again! Out of interest (I am currently using the unprotected ones in my VTR - relying on its built stuff to protect me) could I use the protected versions in the VTR - or would the doubled up protection mess things up? Not a biggie - It's just that I plan to stock up on batteries soon and it would be nice if I could just buy one product. Thanks

This is a really interesting thread - I'm just looking for tanks to go with my first mech mod and like all that's been said here. In an ideal world I'd spend serious money to get the best - not just in vaping. However this isn't situation I'm in financially lol, so have to consider alternatives. Conversely, I don't have the skills or knowledge (or inclination tbh) to fix issues with cheaper stuff just to make them work like they should. Its from this perspective that one of erik514's posts here struck a chord. The one where he's comparing designer label stuff vs cheap knock offs etc. It's his 3rd option that put me in meerkat mode i.e. Not high end, not high-end variable quality copies, but the "buy a pretty good shirt without the famous label that will look good, fit well and will last for ages for about the same price as the knock off" option. He recommends the AGA t-2 as a good example of this. Are there many RBA's in this category that people could also recommend? (thinking £20-40 mark I guess) Or do you feel that the high-end priced bits are actually the only ones that deliver the goods and just happen to look nice as an added bonus? Thanks
