I don't want this to turn into yet another boring clones versus genuine thread as the subject has been covered to death on far too many occasions - I am simply stating that I have made a personal choice. I received my FT Squape (PMMA version) yesterday and it when straight into the bin in disgust. One solitary air hole in the 510 connector that was less than 1 mm in diameter and with two shallow air channels neither of which even reached the 510 connector ... resulting in an impossible tight draw. The roughest threads that I have ever encountered in a clone rba. Pmma inner tank that fell out into my hands and which would never have been air tight. All in all a piece of $hi£! Why did I not simply return it to FT you may ask? .... Simple answer is that this is FT and I finished forever ... in fact this is me finished with clones full stop. There are some decent clones about and I have bought, and still use, a few of them myself (the Nemesis mod and the Ithaka rba clones are particularly good) but it is the luck of the draw whether you get a good one, a mediocre one or a rubbish one. From now on I will be saving up my pennies to buy the occasional genuine mod or atty rather than every clone that comes along. At least that way I will end up with some decent gear that has been machined to a consistently high standard and performs as it should straight out of the box. RANT OVER

Non clones aren't guaranteed either unfortunately. I bought an rba from a reputable vendor a while ago. It was advertised as full stainless steel, After a couple of rebuilds the supposedly stainless steel parts in the build deck were looking decidedly brassy. The vendor was excellent and offered a refund straight away so it worked out in the end. I don't really care if things are brass or not, I was annoyed that I had been sold something that wasn't as described.

Its not always clones that have problems, I mostly buy genuine mods / attys and even then then can have machining problems. I had a spheroid that the top hole for the drip tip was not drilled quite deep enough by about .5mm so any drip tip I put in it never sat properly. so it's not always the case of you get what you pay for.

When it comes to mods i don't mind a clone as it's just a voltage feeder to the atty, as long as it is a good one at doing the job and safe doing it i am fine....BUT when it comes to the voltage hitting a atty that is a different subject. I have been myself though numerous clones and i cannot praise enough the genuine ones, they just simply work. I got piss** off with trying to make a clones work 100% so just opted for a genuine and will never look at a copy again, the genuine ones work and no faffing around involved so that will do me. Costs more, hell yeah but way worth it in the long run.......i ain't bought anything since i now have three nemesis clones adjusted with a few genuine parts and three Spheroids....i am at peace with vaping, i am now in heaven when it comes to vaping, the mod works and the atty works. What more can i ask for

A lot of clone makers are happy to make crap and FT are happy to sell it on for them. There are some very good clones out there, but also there are some nice stainless steel or chromed brass paperweights. I have nothing against clones at all but I always expect the worst with them and then it's a nice surprise if it's a good one

Both - FT in this particular case but clones in general. Also is this not something a drill could cure? This is the point I am making - why should I be expected to do the manufacturer's job for him. Irrespective of how cheap the item is, it should perform as intended straight out of the box and I am just fed up with having to tinker with clones to get them working as they should.

My squape from FT should be here during the next week @yinyang, thing is I only read the reviews after I ordered it! I've already mentally consigned it to the bin I made the no clone atty pledge about 3 months ago when I got a completely useless kayfun off vapourbreak so I've got no excuse for ordering the squape, I think I was bevvied when I ordered it!

What more can i ask for I agree with you about the Nemesis clones Super-Shiny - I have bought a few and every one of them was faultless. It is the RBAs that are hit and miss.

That's what I mean, FT seem happy to sell bad ones but other vendors where you often pay a bit more tend to sell better quality. Also more chance of getting a fix or refund if keeping it local.
That's how it seems to me anyway but could be mistaken.
