charliehorse - when you put in a new coil, rinse with boiling water first, gets rid of any primer left on the coils When cleaning at home, a soak in some vodka or some warm water and baking soda does the trick, especially when changing flavour with the same coil. Only trouble is you can leave it too long with just one clearo, you will need something to vape! Glad you have begun your vaping journey with success

Despite his humorous criticisms, I am with teethcv on this one. Get some aspires! Get a couple of decent clearos to go with your nice VV kit. Certainly don't buy more Evods! I have an Evod and it's alright, don't get me wrong it does vape pretty good, but it is just pretty good compared to an Aspire ET-S or Aspire Vivi Nova though. I will probably use it when my coils run out and I start recoiling them all, but must say even using ego style batteries the flavour from the aspires is just awesome. I think with a good vv battery I need buy no more except for juice and coiling supplies

Woo hoo! Sitting at work having a thoroughly shite day when the posty drops a package on my desk... Aspire mini nova-s in ss with an evod 1000mah vv in purple! Hubby is most definately in the good books! What do you make of the mini nova then? definitely a winner with me as I said. For future reference, having tried most of them now, it is a great example of the quality of all of the aspire clearos.

charliehorseWelcome to aaec. I too was a roll up smoker! Glad you have decided to give vaping a go. One battery will certainly be an issue if you switch to an electronic cig full time but see how you go. Nice quality gear to be starting with though! This really is the friendliest forum around, everyone here has helped me on my journey so far. Anything you need to ask, no matter how silly it seems, just ask! Usually someone can help or point you to someone that can. Hope to see you around the boards

I also second the Evod kit - everything you need to get you started except from the juice and for the money it's a quality bit of kit. I used something similar but very overpriced... Then I found this place and my knowledge of what I was actually looking for and how/where to get it grew rapidly thanks to the time and advice of friendly members. I acquired an Evod battery and clearomiser separately (same setup as the recommended kit will be) and although having moved on to other tanks, it is a cracking vape. I too used a vapestick years ago after my mum gave up using it and gave it to me. I still had it when I got my kit and it had sat gathering dust for about 2 years. Anyhow I charged it for use just once and must say from personal experience, the vape from an ego/Evod style set up is miles closer to a cigarette. The vapestick got binned after 1 use (considered donating but it was falling to bits and batteries were useless). Wow what a ramble. I guess what I'm trying to say is just move on from the vapestick ASAP, no need to wait. Buying it wasnt a waste of money if it led you to this forum. Stay on the case of finding something that works for you, make it an immediate aim and you will quickly find what you are looking for. There is a bit of trial and error involved but everyone who has been there will help you along the way. Once you find what works it's all sweet and if you are determined there's no going back. In 3 days time I'll have avoided over 1000 cigs

jamesrd I have a couple of tobacco juices that were sent to me from another member this week. They aren't to my liking so I would rather someone got the use of them if you would like them. Like many others I generally don't use tobacco flavours, I tried this couple to see what like and just didn't enjoy but if you are just coming off the cigs they will probably be quite enjoyable. When you get your Evod kit or something similar, PM your address and I will forward them to you for free

Seen a good few tutorials and reviews of the BDC heads done with single microcoils and the vape is supposed to be cracking. Looks straightforward enough aswell, just slightly harder to pull apart than the Kanger BC heads. I'm gonna be giving it a go in a few weeks or so, I'll let you know how it works out if you don't beat me to it only disadvantage I can see is because it is all housed inside, need to use silica instead of cotton. Doesn't bother me though! I have a few Kanger heads I can try with micro and cotton to compare, but I enjoy the aspires enough to carry on with silica. ~there is a video on YouTube with an Irish bloke who builds an ET-S single nano coil using cotton, this is the method I'll be using when I give it a try. Got a link?

smithyjulesYou know I'm saving up hardware for the apocalypse, right? The Mini Nova is the only clearomiser I am/was actively looking to get rid off. I gave 4 or 5 of them away last year and kept one for nostalgia. For low-power vaping, if you don't mind swooshing and still getting dry hits, they are OK. - - - In the overall scheme of things, I am staying well clear of dual coils and concentrating on finishing my collection of cheap BCCs and RDAs. (cheap BCCs for work/out and about.... rebuilt, mostly....) ~should be easy enough to recoil the BDC's as single micro coils, I've kept all my old ones for this very reason! I can't say I'm overly concerned about the apocalypse, firstly it's probably a couple of years away and a lot can change in 2 years and secondly I'll happily buy outside the EU if needed! smithyjules I also have an aspire mini nova. Not the stainless version but that doesn't affect the vape. Much the same, slightly less tight draw than the CE5 and can squeeze a tiny bit more juice in there (0.2ml). It's great, I use it every day unless I'm cleaning it. Plastic drip tip too so not metallic issues. Looks the part on an ego or Evod battery aswell. Uses a 510 rather than ego connection so if it doesn't come with one make sure to get a beauty ring so it sits flush. Looks like a space ship landed in the wrong place without one haha. Fab advice thanks! Can I ask where you got yours from? I've only used myepack for things so far and can't find them on there. As mrsmac has said, I think ukecigcabin is your best bet. Sure they have a discount code for AAEC aswell? csmith10 the aspire ET-S is my favourite of the bunch, i have a glass one that and the full size nova are cracking. That said I still have days where I use the mini nova all day.

smithyjulesCant send links as using my phone but check a website called steamgunk. They have the CE5-S which is the same as the CE5 but with a stainless steel covering (looks similar to your evods) available in a few colours for £4.25 Also may be worth checking the vendor discount thread to see of any vendors selling them offer a forum discount. I think at £4.25 for the stainless version, even without discount it's about as good as you will get!

smithyjulesI would say +1 for your hubby's choice of the Aspire BDC CE5s (the ones linked to). Even with the batteries your using, this was my next step up and a massive difference to my flavour and vapour production. I still use them with egos now and am quite satisfied the 1.8ohm heads are perfect for ego batteries! They can be recoiled although a little more tricky than the protank heads, but the life of the standard coils is pretty good. I get between 10-14 days per coil unless using a very dark juice then I get perhaps 7-8 days. They are simple to use. Like everything they are not without flaws, come up against a few problems but nothing that isn't fixed in a jiffy. If set up right they are leak/gurgle/hassle free and provide a great vape. My only advice is shop around - you will find them cheaper I'll try find you some links. if you ever decide to get them and come up against any issues PM me and I can probably help. Seem to have got the knack for keeping them working perfectly at all times

Everyone's Friday night vape gear puts mine to shame! Haha Just using a couple of 650mah egos and a 1000mah Evod. Rotating between... Aspire Vivi Nova with menthol, Aspire Mini Nova with grape, Aspire ET-S Glasso with softmint and Aspire Mini Davide with Cherry Cola. Still considerably better than my Friday nights with a CE4 and one flavour!

I've got some 10ml mystery mixes done at 18mg too if they're any good to ya? Reason they're a mystery is because I took them to Portugal with me and they leaked a bit in flight, so the labels are worn off. Definitely fruit of some sort though...I think. Free to a good home if you send me a pm with your details. Hey thanks to everyone for their offers. Besides my initial question being aswered I have recieved several offers of juice both in this thread and in PM. I hope no one has taken offense if I have declined their offer. I have only accepted from a couple of people. I very much appreciate everyone's efforts to help but to accept from everyone would be greedy and im sure there are plenty others in my boat who could use the help so please understand that the offers were declined with the same kindness they were offered with you guys are all great, the community spirit on this forum is second to none.
