I'm brand new to Ecigs, after researching all the different brands I plummed for Vapestick, I've had it for four days now and I must admit I like it except for the battery which doesn't seem to last five minutes, I will obviously have to buy extra batteries. I've noticed on this forum that it is mostly juice which is discussed, I know absolutely nothing about these, could someone explain to me what these are and how different they are to ordinary ecigs and anything else which might seem appropriate. I've been smoking for 60 years and have tried to pack them in on numerous times without success but I now feel with the ecigs I really can once I get over the first smoke of the day which I still seem to need. I'm male aged 75 and live in Durham in the north east of England where the sun rarely shines. thank you. James

Welcome jamesrdGood luck with your switch to e-cigs. If you find the batteries poor and refills too expensive (or not very good) we can help you find alternative products. I gave my Dad (same age) a kit which seems like a normal plastic cigarette and has it's own recharging case, which you pop the battery part into and forget about it between puffs. Cheaper and better than Vapestick in my opinion. Most of the big brands over-charge in all honesty. E-Lites are the worst at £3.99 per refill. My dad pays £1.00.... that's a huge difference over time. (as in, thousands of pounds.....) How much do the Vapestick refills work out as?

Hi jamesrd and welcome. Have a read through here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/28309/pics-vids-get-started-abbreviations?page=1&scrollTo=513677. It might help you understand it all. I think you probably have a cig-a-like vapestick which don't last long at all and are very expensive. The juice we talk about is e-liquid which we use in the refillable kits. Most people soon get used to the larger size and I would suggest an ego size kit might suit you better. The battery last much much longer the higher the mah the longer they last. It is a high layout cash wise to get but they do last a long time and actually work out much much cheaper in the long run. Anyway have a read through then come back and we can suggest kit that suits your budget. Now I have my kit sorted I spend around £2 per week on juice and I was a 20 a day smoker for more than 50years. Good luck on your journey

greetings and welcome to AAEC jamesrdCongratulations on starting your vaping adventure. As has been mentioned in the above previous posts, the majority of us have progressed from the most basic unit (and comprativly expensive) onto a range of more versatile pieces of kit. Please do have a read that of the link that babs so kindly gave you, then when you are ready just ask away about anything vape related. I promise you that no matter how trivial your question may seem to you, nobody on here will be dismissive in any way (we all had to start somewhere). For now, have a browse through the link and at other posts. But above all, Enjoy.

Hiya James and welcome to AAEC forum, hope we can help you with any questions you have! We do talk a lot about our juice, mainly because there's a huge choice out there beyond 'fag flavour' and its one of the most fun parts about vaping, experimenting with e-liquids.
Many of us now use battery and tank systems so you can fill up your own and swap and change about. I generally have 4 or 5 favourite flavours on the go! Even in tobacco flavours there's 100's of choices. Most people have an all-day-vape (ADV) but then a selection of other juices they like and buy testers of others to try out, as vaping is so cheap in comparison to weekly smoking costs it means that you can have some disposable income to use and many of us become vaping hobbyists
Then there's the shopping......thats one of my favourite parts! Shinyitus <<when you cant resist new batteries, tanks, eliquids.... you might find yourself developing a new hobby too

As others have said welcome jamesrdBelieve ronaldo is not too far away from you if you need someone in the flesh to help you out (when he has the time) Vapestick sounds ok for a very light smoker but as you've said the battery is pants.... Next stage is a decent battery (get two - on on charge whilst you're using one) - someone can advise though if you're ready for it myepack do a nice beginner kit quite reasonable myepack.co.uk/kits/evod-starter-kit-ss.html which you just need to get the mains charger and like some juice (e-liquid).... They also have e-liquid on the my epack site to save confusion. I've checked the cheaper ones on the starter kits and they don't have two batteries. So really not that much cheaper I know it may be above your budget but it's upto you Jane

hi and welcome jamesrd congratulations of having started the vaping journey - and to do it in here is even more fun - as said before many of us use tanks, which can be filled and we often have more than 1 flavour at the go - also at the beginning tdon't buy too much of one particular flavour as your taste might change and again : just ask ask ask - that's what we do in here
