I personally like the Davide over the Protank for the look of the thing. Davide King is the BDC version with the option to top fill. Aerotank airflow ring fits it too.

Can't believe no one's mentioned this: try some VG-only juice. I have some "Pancake" and "Tennessee Cured" both 18mg and both VG-only and there's almost no "throat hit" compared to the usual 70/30 PG/VG. Still a nice buzz though If 12mg isn't really cutting it I'd recommend getting some 18mg and 24mg of something basic like VG-only RY4.

If you have a removable drip-tip, remember to give it a rinse too!

Also try the Hangsen RY4, a favourite of mine. I don't think RY4 is one of those that can be really great, otherwise it wouldn't really be RY4

Forgot to mention I also got the iTaste VV, version 3 is actually VW as well. It's about the same scale as a standard EGO, 800mAh and probably the lightest VW battery possible but not the shortest.

I have vape-mail! The Lava Mini from Pink Mule is only £14 This comes out about 1cm longer than the Cool Fire 1. It is a bit "plastic" but that also means it's A LOT lighter than the Cool Fire. Only VV but you do get a resistance checker. Choice of Plastic Black, Naff Silver and Alan Carr Red. TBH, it's a tidy little thing As a complete contrast I also bought this spinner, totally mad awesome, man! Actually almost the same diameter as the Lava but over a centimetre longer again. Nice capacity though but I'm wondering what atomiser I can put on it to do it justice!

Funny, I've been looking into this subject on and off since I started vaping! For minimum height any tidy 18500 mech mod (kick+18350) will be the shortest you can get. Having said that, I've just compared my Sentinel (actually pretty big top/bottom caps) and it doesn't size up well to a Cool Fire 1. Bear in mind that's with a flat 510 connection on the Sentinel and EGO cone on the Cool Fire 1 so they did a really tidy job there! Kick vs fixed 8.5w? Hmm... up to you. Historically your first choice would be a Mini-Lavatube but the current versions are rubbish You can't rustle up a 14500 mech/kick combo so this means you'd probably have to get a mere VV-only 14500 mod. Honourable mention here for the Swig, even though it's really taller and the same diameter overall as the Cool Fire 1, it feels so light in the hand. Amusing dial around the top for setting voltage, I think it's based on 1st generation iTaste gear. The only other comparable device I've found is the Robust Lambo Round but I've not got round to ordering one yet to compare to the Swig, still only VV If you can get by with some minor VV control there's always this:

I gave up in Nov '13 and I didn't realise how unhealthy I was! After about a week it felt like some lead weight had been lifted from me. It's not a feeling you can really "sell" to people, especially not the young I don't want to get too political, I save that for UK Vapers, but the outcry against e-cigs is purely about money and has absolutely nothing to do with public health or "will someone think of the children!?" I've tried tempting my grown up daughters with e-cigs but they're not really impressed by them, they're too young to feel any dramatic health benefit and don't smoke enough to see a cost saving. One thing's for sure: ban e-cigs and all the kids will want one

Something to consider: everyone b*tches about filling the 3.1s and jamming the things, so over engineered, IMHO. Shock horror! There's the KF Lite If you have a 3.1 you're happy vaping with you might consider getting a cheapo Lite and just steal the base off it, for instance: KF Lite in Matte from FT is £9.92 but you could get the PMMA one for £7.62 and throw away the plastic leaving you a steel base to swap out your 3.1 base. I'm doing the same with my gold plate Trident: busted the centre pin and just buying a PMMA version for the base

Mini-Protank 2 or Davide seem to be the top dogs, single coil style. Although I have a soft spot for the VapeOnly Mini-BCC, £5.95 from 'Cloud9'.
Dual coil is a choice between any Aspire BDC you like the look of, the Kanger Protank 3 and Aerotanks and maybe the iClear 30 'B' variant.
I'll add an honourable mention for 'UK ECig Cabin' to the above list. Used them a few times.

Sometimes a shaking the bottle every few days may aid the steeping process. YMMV, jury is still out, etc.
But any juice, even if it's supposed to be pre-steeped is worth leaving if you're getting that sort of flavour.

Stick at it! I think I "got over" analogues after a month and a half. Weird thing is, after getting bored with fruit and sweet flavours I went on to tobacco style juices, a good RY4 or Flue Cured Leaf is my all day vape now! You might want to keep two completely different flavours tanked and ready and swap during the day. I've been quite happy with RY4 (sweet to me!) and the Flue Cured for the last month. Now I've swapped out the RY4 for Gold & Silver. Ofc, I have some insane micro-coiled widget full of Jack the Ripple when I get back home Variety is the spice of life! If all else fails one hit of 36mg RY6 should do it

AGA-T2... let's be frank: it's a b'stard of a device. Still, if you can get it working you can do anything! Someone else said exactly the same on ECF
TBH, I gave the SS rope one go but the effort to cut the bleedin' stuff is too much hassle. Mesh you just need scissors I got a 1m length and used my wire cutters on it to make some 4mm lengths, but might give up if I can't get them to work I too am vaping on some Aspire BDC devices, my favourite is a Davide King to which I've added the Aerotank airflow ring: The Davide King 'ell (Obscure homage to Terry Pratchett!) Davide King has the all in one top which I don't like (I think the Protank I was the same), I prefer straight tips mainly, although I also like the 30s tipsI dunno what you have in the pipe-line but all I can suggest is stay away from the Squape clones for now. I got one of the first ones and it was terrible. Having said that, if, and it's a big if, you can get it working, micro-coil and cotton it and it's awesome. Fogger, KFL, KF 3.1 and a 91%, just to test my skills, oh and a Fogatti Hybrid, that may be fun have also been looking at the Quasar Gold (need something to go with my Brass mods) and the Squape, but not the clones, if all else fails, I'll just some plated by m-vapesYeah, I know what you mean with the Davide drip-tip but you can actually use any drip tip you like, just need the original to open the top for filling. As it is I prefer curvy tips to straight ones anyway so I'm quite happy with it. KFL, KF3.1 and 91% are all basically the same base with respect to wicks and coils. Most ppl prefer the simpler KFL (3.1s have the issue of the fill valve jamming occasionally.) Fogger would be something different to all the rest and the Foggatti looks to be a tidy piece of kit The Quasar just looks like yet another Trident style dripper, not that that's a bad thing! Bust the centre pin on mine somehow but before that, with dual micro-coils, awesome vapes

Hey Bob, AGA-T2... let's be frank: it's a b'stard of a device. Still, if you can get it working you can do anything! TBH, I gave the SS rope one go but the effort to cut the bleedin' stuff is too much hassle. Mesh you just need scissors Regarding Silica: just try standard, Ekowool, VoodooWool, etc. see which one gives the best performance. The only thing I'd say you can get wrong with silica is strangling the wick (easily solvable using a pin.) I don't think the vertical nature of gennies suits micro-coils although plenty have done it. The Kayfun-style, bottom-coil devices are so much easier to work with in this respect. With mesh the best performance was from making mesh over silica: a thin silica core wrapped in mesh, with a tail to soak up all the juice; waste not want not If you stick with mesh-only then try not to roll it too tight; you want a little "staw-style" centre. A perfect, loose spiral would be the ideal but difficult to make! With the air hole I found mine to be fine but these not being some Greek or Russian thing with serial numbers the quality varies. Don't be scared of enlarging the hole if you feel you need to. Hell, some people dual-coil and end up drilling a second! I too am vaping on some Aspire BDC devices, my favourite is a Davide King to which I've added the Aerotank airflow ring: The Davide King 'ell (Obscure homage to Terry Pratchett!)
