I'll step back and apologise. There's a couple there with fitted plugs. I'll always doubt authenticity from China

Abit of concern over on UKV too so I linked this thread across there. I skimmed the ukv thread. Someone mentioned the D4s on FT. I can't find a single one listed as 'Authentic'. I could be blind tho

I'm sensitive to PG too fraser, I know how bad it can get, and how down it can make you feel. I'm at 80%VG (can only get my concentrates in PG atm) and if I overdo it the pain comes back. I really do feel for you. Can be frustrating at times - almost enough to send me back to the tobacconist

An Update (from AJC I assume): One faker company has made a mistake on the box. How many haven't? I know what it takes to become a dealer for a company such as Nitecore. So they have signed up to clarify matters, we really could do with them here. Chrissie, jess can we get them in pronto?

If this ESF org are a respected outfit you'd think they would get their facts sorted before slating a respected product, they may have updated it now but the original alert suggested it was a defect with the genuine article. Mud sticks after all And no I don't own a Nitecore. That's it. They're not trusted, certainly ain't good at giving the advice. Rapex database is more trusted, however in this case they have dropped the same bo**ock. ESF have just copy-pasted the info.

They are fakes. An addition to the site has been made on Nitecore's behalf. The fakes are identified by the mains lead. Genuines have a full brass earth pin as required by BS1363, and the plugs are fitted by hand. Fakes are supplied with a moulded plug. The genuine leads do have a moulded strain reliever fitted, because it's a universal fitting for EU/UK/USA plugs. If you can remove the plug with a screwdriver it's genuine. Those who bought from FT? I'm worried now cos no 'Authentic' in the descriptions and clearly moulded plugs on the leads. Although the alert shows a lead with a red fuse holder, it has been confirmed that ALL genuine UK Digichargers have a plug fitted seperately by hand. Those with genuine D4s can now relax. Everyone else has fakes!! Needless to say Nitecore will not be exchanging ANY units. Di, any way you could add the fake bit to the thread title?? I'm sure the V2 i4 is safe enough glen. The V1 was recalled in 2011 and no alerts since Oh, and thank you Di for bringing this to our attention

I'm not 100% sure on ebay, but as it's a safety recall then surely the goods sold were not fit for purpose? Or even 'dangerous goods'? I suppose that is time limited though. I also wonder if Nitecore - being who they are - might do a receipt free swap?? Boy am I glad I bought direct from Nitecore

The 'recall' notice is quite poorly written, also surely it would affect the D2 as well, sounds like another maker trying scare tactics, I have contacted Nitcore asking the question Good move. In the database it's described as 'creep causing thansformer wires to short'. No sign of that possibilty in mine so could well be a hoax. Hoaxes don't generally make it to the database though.

Nothing from Nitecore UK/USA - as yet. Not saying there isn't a recall, would just expect some word from Nitecore themselves.
We don't even know if this affects genuine chargers or fakes.
This item is on the recall database. Strange we hear nothing from Nitecore themselves.

Another example of how to get into trouble Ripshod ? You got that right striker42As I said: Be careful when googling. There's a lot of bad results turning up - 'apparently good' information from bad vendors. That first battery really is a shocker though. 6 Amps!! ETA: What really is shocking is the number of unprotected ICR batteries being peddled out there. That ain't gonna end well

Seriously?? First (LGDBM11865) - 6Amps <<<<<<<<<<<Unprotected ICR!!Second (Samsung INR18650-30Q) - 15Amps Third (LGDBHE41865) - 20Amps Fourth - (LGDAHD21865) - 20Amps <<<<<<<<<<<Unprotected ICR!!Fifth - (LGDAHB61865) - NOT RECOGNISED!!The diamond in the rough here is the LG HE4. At 20Amps and being safer chemistry this is the only one of the five I'd recommend anyone uses. The others are good for torches though
Vape safe!!
The whole survey is sponsored (65%-ish) by batterybro. com employees. Who ironically claim to stock the Sony VTC5. Avoid like a rash!!!!
