ervi when you swapped the button did you just prise the hard one out or did you remove the top to pull the clip out?

I agree about the top section being a juice hazard, I've run a little silicon round the top, let it set before clamping it back down. Tiny o-rings on the screws and I feel a lot happier now, though none of my tanks leak I do get a little condensation.

If they're the ones that have no wick on the outside there is a guide somewhere, but I believe it requires you to drill the holes out.

Best advice I can give is to get yourself a unicoil, can be rewicked to death quite easily. By the time it needs a new coil You'll have done your homework and will be ready.
