kittyvape mine dump juice randomly too, I've decided they are quite fussy about their wicks....it does sometimes get right up my wick! Still love the tanks though, just wish they didn't have little niggles

I had major issues with one of my sub tank minis, same problem, ohms jumping all over. I bought a new V2 base which seems to work ok after I had tried everything. Then yesterday my V1 started playing up recoiled it, ok to begin with then leaping ohms once more, took it apart, redid the coil, test fired it, then discovered the coil screws had become loose? Tightened it all up and so far it seems to have settled down. I did contact Kanger who seemed helpful to start with, but I've heard nothing since, but generally the tanks seem to be playing nice now. Yesterday's frolics made me wonder if after the coil has been fired a few times, if the screws work a little loose? Just wish these things would do what they we supposed to.

So, some progress. The problem air flow base is the one that came with the subox kit tank. The new white subtank mini airflow works ok. I have tried swapping pins etc etc but it still cause the ohms to jump around, so presently is a white tank with silver base. Decided to try contacting KangerTech and got a nice reply from a rep asking for a photo of the authenticity sticker on the box, and who I bought it from, suggesting that they would arrange a replacement. So I've sent the photo and details, but pointed out that I hadn't contacted the vendor (myepack) about this as it really isn't their fault. So, now I wait and see if anything happens, I will let you know. Not too bothered really, all three sub tanks are working with rba decks and I've finally got the right size wire to make coiling it simpler. Still the occasional leak, but that'll be down to my wicks I think. As for the tanks, I love them, and the subox too (which I dropped while out with the dogs and managed to put a couple of small scratches on it but nothing broke ) Love being able to change batteries on this mod, makes life simpler for me at least.

The part the coil screws into, joining the tank to the base, one with air holes in it. And no, never a stupid question, there is no such thing here

Thank you phatfil I'm sure you're right and it's something to do with the pin on the base. I've moved it about, removed and replaced it etc but it's not helped, not tried a different pin yet, the other bases are in use. It does the same with occ heads too. The original one I got with the kit is worse than the second white tank base I got, but still not as good as the replacement air flow base. Thanks for the offer of a loan, but I think I will head to fasttech, see if they have any white sub tank mini air flow bases and buy a couple, can manage with what I've got till then. I'm slightly relieved really, thought I simply couldn't recoil the rba bases and it put me off recoiling the occ heads. But I've just redone 8! Occ heads, all to 0.7 ohms, all tested on the v1 air flow base, so I now have a few spares, a bit more confidence and I no longer want a pack of rolling tobacco and some papers! (Was looking likely at 2.30 this afternoon )

Curious to know if anyone else has this problem? i have tried and tried and better tried coiling the rba bases for my two white subtank minis, one came with the kit, the second one I bought, both with V2 rba decks, both with the V2 airflow base and BOTH of them have shorting issues. I have made coil after coil after coil, using wire, twisted wire, twisted/ribbon wire, have snipped, wiggled and nearly chewed the ends off at the deck etc etc and nearly, well, all of them have been variable in use, they start at 0.6ohm, jump to 2.2, 2.8 even 9.9! Stop working, fizz, jump, sometimes settle then jump around again. so last order I bought an extra airflow base as well as two extra rba bases, just in case. so today, new wire.... 0.42mm Kanthal A1, recoiled the newly (this morning recoiled) rba deck, tested on the original airflow base, 1.2/2.2/fizz etc so out of interest fished out the spare air flow base and whoop whoop 0.6 no jumping, fizzing sillyness i also have a V1 subtank bought from classies on here and no issues with that rba or airflow base so I'm concluding that the airflow based on the white subtank minis are a bit, well, suspect. does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I can do? Should I contact myepack? Or Kanger? Or just buy another silver airflow base? I'm very sad about this I like my all white tanks.

Does the original rba deck fit the new subtank subox kit tank thing? Cos I seriously do think my subox subtank is not playing nice. It needs a new deck, new airflow base probably but I can only find the original type ones, not the newer ones. It does settle down, sometimes, but is a bit too variable so I think I need a new rba base Am confuddled

Thank you peeps, very kind of you all. And myepackHave spent nearly an hour and a half trying to coil and wick the sub tank mini deck (v2) v1 was a breeze, the wire thatguy suggested, one coil made, fitted, wicked. Lovely. Second deck, 6 coils made, tested, deck screws replaced, faffed, messed, got mildly cross, finally just went with it, same wire, 4 wraps round .3mm, = 1.5/1.6ohms? No blummin idea why, think the deck must be faulty Jumping around all over the place!u edit.......now settled at 0.7ohms

Brilliant Chrissie an amazing achievement, and thanks to that first step, with out of date (now) vape gear, you were motivated to help others do the same and so this forum was born, and because of this forum, many, many people have been able to make the switch, and enjoy doing so, probably living longer in the process.

Tried the pancake wick, well my version, and it leaked worse, but they do prefer to be vertical, and now I just wick as per general instructions, with plenty tucked down the chimney, if you see what I mean and it seems to work ok. But vertical seems to be the key

Off to visit aged mother in a minute....have recoiled subtank deck...again...and the ohms jump about when fired, was at 1.4 when made, then shows 2.0 then when fired goes to 1.5-1.8
does this mean it's shorting somewhere? And is it dangerous and should I stop using it until I've replaced it? Am struggling and off till tomorrow very soon.
