15 minutes ago seniorphil said: I've been frantically opening batteries(from here on refered to as batts and meaning a laptop battery containing 6 18650s) this afternoon as penance for helping myself to the remainder for vaping. A little update, as we've been working our way down the boxes we've been getting a few dud cells amongst the ones we've tested. The maximum was 1 dud 18650 in a batt, it averages out to about 8% duds among 300 batts at the moment. The duds still work we're just being quite zealous in our rejection policy. In the following list I have taken the liberty of bumping up a few people to 2 batts to over allow for the duds. Anyone who wanted 2 and now wants 3, please feel free to copy-and-paste the list with amended amount. If I've missed anyone, apologies, or your just adding yourself again please copy-and-paste and add yourself and your requirements.(anyone who amends the list so the handles work will get automatic entry at the pearly gates) teethcv- 2 Sony batts dagl- 4 batts ruffdog- 2 batts+grommets delivered via ronaldo express ronaldo- 2 batts spikey_fridge- 2/3 Panasonic batts+Luer tips DiscoDes- 2 batts+ Luer tips chrisjw- 2 batts clairea- 2 batts Di- 3 batts jeffc- 2 batts @djs- 2 batts @pep- 2 batts anubis - 2 batts (there on Sat) Thanks Petebigmatch 2/3 batts if poss please ( there on sat) apologies again if I missed you, I am doing this on my mobile. You could say 13:30 to 14:00 at the bar to pick up your freebies , that way you've got it all done in 30 minutes and you can enjoy the rest of the day doing what you want to do.I'm sure everyone else would think this is the fairest for you too.

You can buy raffle tickets at the venue. 5 per person @ £2 each I'm glad they have limited the tickets....stops me spending £50 on wasted tickets! Lol
I've got little to no chance of winning, as per normal , the last time I won a physical item on a raffle was when I was a teenager, and that's a distant memory , lol BUT if I did it would be either one of two options the first being it would be drawn for a specific item that I don't like ( e.g 10 gallons of custard juice ) , or it would be first come first served and I would win the last item, which NO-ONE wanted. Anyway , I'm still going to enter , just on the off chance.

What happens when people ( and they will ) mod these devices to basically burn the tobacco because the hit isn't there, then it's the SAME as smoking, if not worse as they don't have ant filters.
Governments want to allow this and ban vaping , it's ALL about the money , and things like this coming out and nothing is being said is only making this more obvious. It seems as the governments, tobacco producers, pharmaceutical companies etc etc etc think we are all 5 years old and believe everything they say.
One of my favourite saying is "Stupid people only gauge intelligence on their own level" , while the rest of us are sniggering behind their back.

Just another shabby NON report and just peoples opinion with NO facts attached , what a surprise.
Is it me or are we ( as people , not ex smokers ) just taking things on face value and believing everything we see on television and we're bringing up our children to do the same.We should be bringing up our children to think for themselves and find out the REAL truth about E-Cigs and anything else for that matter.
This is a news channel and should be dealing with facts, not what people think and it's the same with any news story on this channel and the other news channels too.
These people are supposed to be well educated , so why do they lack the common sense to read up on a subject before talking about it especially as one of them is a vaper , you would have thought he would have been advocating E-Cigs to the hilt not just stumbling through something he actually uses.

You can certainly put me down for 5 , preferably 10 at Vapefest. Andy Will do, I am camping Friday and Saturday and will be propping up the bar on the day. If you come across anyone from London, they'll be able to point me out. Or will THAT be you ? lol
I only have the one day to do all travelling and the Vapefest itself and I'm in West Sussex, so it's a 405 mile round trip , I'm going to fall into bed when I get home.
So as well as seeing you I have a dripper to get if I can find one I like , maybe a mod , if I can find a Vapefest offer and 6 million juices to try.A lot of fluid intake is needed for the flavour testing but unfortunately nothing alcoholic . I'll be wearing one of the chrisjw badges so hopefully you'll see me.

It feels like I'm at work, because I can't understand a word of at least three quarters of them say either, kind of like a busmans holiday.

Or if you you want a 26650 DNA30 with that layout StiG HeliX, looks lovely, I don't think he has a price or started a list yet, definitely high-end and probably too nice to take to work, too big and prob too pricey for me.
Just to let others here know , that the Stig Helix is going to be sold at Vapefest for around ( please don't quote me on this ) £289 and there are going to be VERY limited numbers , around 50 total for all the combinations. After Vapefest there will be a list or 2 or 3 going up on the thread above for people wanting to order them.
I've only put up this info so others don't have to troll through 23 pages of the thread , lol

That is lovely, but as you said , high end and way to pricey for work and it's way to big for my hands.I have really small hands for a man , as I can always find gloves that fit me in the winter as no-one else buys small , lol. This is one of the reasons ( which I didn't say earlier ) why I liked the Kato ( size wise ) , as you can get a 18500 version. I also think that's why so many MVP's are sold, because they're not big in the hand and a LOT of women buy them.So if you had the hybrid of the Kato and the VTR I think it would also be attractive for both sexes not just for men.Add to that the styling of a Kato , because for a woman it has a LOT to do with looks. That reminds me, how the hell did I ever get married , lol.
One other thing that I forgot to mention earlier in the specs of a mod I would make , would be to have a floating/spring loaded or adjustable firing pin.
If I had the equipment and skills this is the direction that I would be heading , having something that is not frilly and to girly for the guys and small and attractive for the girls.

It's maybe an idea for some company out there to come up with, but here is my idea.To start with a simple way to put it would be a cross between the Kato mod ( or clone ) and a VTR.
Have the VV and VW with the same control on the top and the fire button on the side like the VTR but slightly higher up nearer the top, as a few people have said it's a little low or just needs a lot of getting used to, THEN have the looks of the Kato and the ability of the Kato to have larger tanks like a Kayfun etc and have the option, like the Kato to have an 18500 model as well as a 18650. Other things that I may want to add which neither has , is another SS or aluminium ring half way between the top ring and the 510 connector to add a bit more tank security , an ego connection or a small adapter so the tank is still protected. The last thing I would add would be a pain but I'm sure someone could come up with something. That is , if your using an ego style tank, they're normally a lot thinner , so having some kind of removable internal ring to the top ring or somewhere near the top of the body to brace it from excessive sideways movement so it goes round the smaller tank and keeps the tank sturdy.
Surely I would have thought with all the comments and reviews of both, someone hasn't come up with a hybrid of both, which is basically what I'm saying.
Why should mods be them VV/VW or mech be attractive as well as versatile. Mech mods have the looks and the VV/VW mods have the versatility, just combine the best bits.
I should have put a patent on this design, lol.

Vtr would be your best option tbh. They can take a hell of a beating. Also I beleive having the tank inset into the device is a unique feature amongst commonly available mods. It offers great protection. I dropped mine so many times while having a glass aerotank in it and not one time did it smash. Battery llife is great if you use the right battery. I use sony vtc5 2600mah and itll last me all day and more. You can use flat top or nipple top its not fussy. If you do go for ot make sure its a v2 with the fixed 510 not the spinning as they are known to have problems. They are a heavy peice of kit but you get used to it as many a member will attest. I must admit that's the direction I'm going towards, BUT there is one thing that maybe a concern which I've only just thought of.I currently use either a Protank 2 with a V2 air controller or Mini Protank 2 with V2 air controller. With the latter I know I'm looking at a small 510 to EGO/510 adapter which is fine , but for both ( seeing as the VTR connection is now fixed and not able to be turned ) I a bit worried that when I put on either tank that the airflow controller will facing the side of the mod.I say this because I've found that when I attach these tanks I seem to close off the airflow then I look to see where to adjust it to.If the air hole is pointing to the side of the mod then I won't be able to see it and the older moveable one meant it could be turned to suit , also if it is pointing towards the side of the mod it could restrict the airflow ??? .Anyone with these combinations care to comment please ?
I'm also holding off on buying something for another week for several reasons, first I may win one from your competition ( I got more chance of finding a Dodo ) , second I may win one at Vapefest ( same chance as above ) and lastly I'm hoping that a vendor or two might have a Vapefest special package deal which will make up my mind, plus I can have a look at a VTR and see if the airflow controllers are visible.

Is there such a mod that's similar to the VTR ?
I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the VTR I'm just wanting to look at options. My work is mainly on building sites as I'm a plumber and I want to get something that's a bit more rugged than the V1 spinner that I use for work.I'm always very wary of snapping a tube type of mod or ruining the threads because of potential movement in my pocket, or if I leave it about getting bashed with tools etc.
The thing that really draws me towards the VTR is the way that the tank is on the side so there is a lot less chance of any sideways type of movement and the tank is semi protected with it being on the side, equally with that I like the variable wattage and voltage that it also offers.I know it isn't a high VV or VW mod like say the Vapor Shark but for me it's plenty as I like a cooler vape at about 7.0w to 9.5w depending on the time of day and my taste buds. I have seen the Kato mod and the Microstick mod too, but these are mech mods with no protection ( battery wise ) and no VV or VW , which I would prefer.
Is the VTR on it's own with these features or have I missed something somewhere, is there something else I have missed which I should be looking at ?

I've wanted to go to a south east meet since I've been vaping, but unfortunately my wife works all day Saturday, so by the time she gets home and I would get there, then the time of the last train I'd only be there for a couple of hours MAX. Anyway , consider this a free bump on me and I hope it's a good day for all those attending.
