my ego came with a bottle of tobacco flavoured but I'm keen to make a break from that to differentiate this habit from the old one. So, lots of small bottles to experiment, I've seen it mentioned (and it makes perfect sense) that my preferences may change over coming weeks as my taste buds re-adjust to not smoking, so changing often seems advisable. I hated the tobacco flavors when i first started and was draw more towards the custards and fruits, but as time passed I started to find them too sweet and sickly. I found that by adding about 1/3 of a tobacco to 2/3 of a custard type both were more palatable. Now I make my own and mostly use a Vanilla Butterscotch Custard that has 1/3 Virginia in it. Your tastes will inevitably change over time...So go with the types of flavor you prefer and 'sample and see'. There was a stage I went through were I added 10% anise to everything I made, but I went off it kinda quickly.(I wonder why)

I was expecting to hear of leaking mishaps with the monster, because of the large channels, but I'm sure that can be overcome with wick experimentation "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!" Definitely....My first needed just a little wick to just cover the top of the channels, but the other needs a bit more.(still trying to find how little I can get away with)

Yes alexthebear it does get in depth. I now use a 60w VW mod as it has the power I want and a bit more. They are also very consistent with power output. The Mech suggestion was just a go to work on building site mod that would survive most things, including being dropped into a buck of water or cement and washed and cleaned. It would be a shame to spend a lot on a really good Mod and destroy it within days or weeks. There are cheaper options that have temperature control and are able to use kanthal, nickle and titanium wire, but being cheaper there is probably little chance of updating the software for the next 'fad' in wire material that comes along, but being cheap, a new more up-to-date one could be got when needed. The IPV D2 is new out and had very good reviews. Its small, easy to carry in pocket....has 75w of power....is temp control and can use all 3 wire types that I mentioned...can be found in UK for £40ish. Another that I am going for is the eVIC VTC 60 Mini. Looks fab...small...60w power TC and can use the 3 wire types. Its only just been announced for preorder so may be another month or more before they get sent out. very cheap at £25 from China. Better pics if you google it. Just ask If you need more help.

Still waiting for mine to land, but the other one arrived today (Normal channels, but 2 x airholes & airhole screws), so will be giving it a bash tomorrow. "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!" Ive seen these but went for the 'shotgun' sized holes. As you and chykensa have(or will have) both you can do a comparison to which you prefer.

Sorry for the delay Grandad To the bottom of chimney threads should do it For step by step This is what I do. A pinky width of cotton rolled and end pinched to thread coil. Tapper the wick ends by cutting at a 45o angle, and brush down using a finger so the thin ends dip into channel. keep wick fluffy and cut off excess tight to the chimney threads. After the good trim.... Eye how much to trim off the ends (going down to the bottom of the chimney threads should be enough) may get away with lot less. Lift the tail up and trim. Attach sleeve with wicks still dry and use small screwdriver to bring the cotton back to the channel and let screwdriver tuck in to channel, both sides and tuck in at top so the cap will clear without moving cotton again Just Prime the top and screw on cap...assemble and fill...you should get air bubbles rising until wick is fully soaked

Was going to stay out of this discussion as I had no DNA experience to offer advice. But I was tagged so did a catch up on what was being said. I'm back to the VW side, now that there are plenty of decent high wattage mods out there, but Mechs are fairly bullet proof. If I was working on a site, I would definitely use a Mech at work, something like the Osmium. Very tough Derelin shell that has a Bakelite feel to it, only not brittle. Would come out fairly unscathed if someone accidentally stomped on it with their size 11 steels. The main difference is, the heat up time of the coil gets slower as you lower the Ohms of the coil. A mech will deliver power equivalent to the remaining battery voltage, so as the battery voltage drops the power to the coil drops with it. Its not as drastic as it sounds, but it does increase the time it takes the coil to heat up, and the vapor does noticeably start to drop off when the battery gets to around 3.6V remaining. The twin 18650 Mechs like the osmium last all day and night with a couple of Samsung 25R's, and still have around 3.8v when you finally go to bed. I am liking the ability to increase the power a little past the Mech norm on my new VW mod and cant wait to try out TC with Ni and Ti wire.(not splashed out a lot as I want to try first and see) Maybe a DNA will be on my list soon as well.

It just needs a few seconds between tokes to re-juice the coil, but this may just be down to my wicking. Yeh I think a bit of fine adjustment how much wick dips into the channel and how densely its packed would improve flow. Im in the same place with the replacement base, having just figured it needs more wick than the original. Looking at them both there are some differences that may indicate a different place of manufacture. forgive the slightly out of focus pic(left monster replacement...right monster full) Ignoring the fill screw as that is one of the bits I swapped out. The number could be a part number indicating full kit and spare base. But the style and depth of the engraving are very different, which is odd, if they come out of the same factory. Apart from the bottom I see no difference. So for me, I think its more a case of having got the first one running perfect, I kept doing the same on the second one for a couple of days, wondering why it wasnt behaving the same. Going to wick again when I finish this tank and start reducing the wick to see if I find a sweet spot.

The second monster I got was a bit more temperamental than the first and was leaking on me when kept upright. I was wicking it just the same as the first, but it didnt behave the same as the original monster. No obvious difference that I could tell in channel depth etc. I spent 2 days re-wicking it every tank full, changed out all the orings, changed out the complete chimney....everything. Finally thought sod it, Im just going to put more wick down the channel. Problem solved. Not leaked since. Talk about going round the houses to diagnose a problem.

Welcome to AAEC TallPaul70 The ego probably wasnt the best thing to buy, but I did the same about 18 months ago and it got me off of cigarettes for the first week or so and did its job. The istick is a much better investment and should last you a good year or so at least. As for juices, its a matter of taste really. Some like to stick to tobacco flavors, others prefer the desert flavors, like vanilla custard, some like fruit flavors or menthol or aniseed. I used to get my juice from LT-Ecigs He has a lot to choose from and reasonably priced. I still use them for the odd concentrate now that I make my own. Keep up the good start.

I new you wouldnt last long robby. Be careful with these 15 day pre-orders, the last one I had from ft on the original evic-t went on for 5 weeks before I cancelled the order Closely followed by a subox mini that I cancelled after 4 weeks. Tell me about it, my D2 ordered on 29/7 has just been put back another few weeks or so(not going to cancel now, sod it). I will get one of these new TC mods..... Someday. BTW you can get Englishish subtitles on the video. You got to love those sub titles..... ''thanks on all points to you markus, my voice is lost, its like an officers distributed clock''....WTF
