Hi, new member here, just thought I'd check in and say hello.
I'm new to this whole vaping mullarkey, been a smoker for 30+ years, roll-ups for most of that, I'd tried an e-cig a few years back, cartridge type, but didn't stick with it very long.
But, I'm now married (to a non-smoker), have a step-son, I've been increasingly aware that my ridiculous habit impacts not just on me, but also on those around me, especially if it mean I'm not there for them any more.
Then, with the recent views expressed that vaping removes 95% of the harm, I thought it was time to give this a try again.
So I got thoroughly confused by the internet, eventually buying an ego-type that probably isn't the best or cheapest, but that said I now haven't had a cigarette for 5 days, and I can't remember when that's ever been achieved before! it's not perfect, but it's about doing the job.
While poking back around the internet again looking at where to get juice from, and what's available, I stumbled across you guys and have been trying to absorb the advice here from this really welcoming and helpful community you seem to have.
As I say, I just wish I'd found you a week ago... I've just now ordered an iStick 30w and a Nautilius Mini, as this appears to be the consensus view of a good place to properly start, and now I can't wait for them to arrive!
So, thanks for the advice, your previously expressed views have been really helpful, and no doubt I'll be back over coming days and weeks, there still seems a lot to learn!

Welcome TallPaul70 lovely to meet you and I'm sure you'll love it here, everyone is at hand to offer help and advice and it looks like you have gone for some excellent kit, you cant go wrong starting on an istick and mini nautilus and don't worry about all the information available, you absorb it in time and it'll make your vape journey easy. I did similar to you (as many of us have) you start off just seeing if vaping could work --- and then discover that its easier to quit than expected especially with help to hand

Hi Paul and welcome to AAEC congratz on the 5 days, and when you get the istick and nautilus yu wont look back. over 6 months for me now and not touched one cig after 35 years of 20-30 a day. the only thing you will sadly catch a disease called shinyitis and you will want to upgrade again soon ive got istick30/40/50 and want a more powerful mod now nautilus mini, full size nautilus, subtank mini, ONE sub tank (that is crap) and a new freemax starre pro subtank. it never ends. oh, and £800 of juice. enjoy your new freedom from the stinkies.

TallPaul70 well done on quitting, i quit after 27 years smoking with an ego device similar to what you've been using but the kit you've ordered will change the game no doubt about it, much better experience when you have some decent gear, once i got some better gear smoking never even crossed my mind again.

TallPaul70Well done on the first 5 days, 5 months will have passed before you know it, I was like you, married a non-smoker, promised I'd give up etc etc, took me a further 19 years to do it, tried every method but then found vaping, the ONLY thing that works, a 41 year habit has now gone and I'm around 18 months into my vaping life

Welcome TallPaul70A lot of us quit using eGo type e-cigs. They aren't the bad guys on the e-cig scene, that honour goes to some dubious brands selling plastic placebo sticks to the unsuspecting... as you have probably worked out. Most people upgrade, regardless of where they start... I doubt you've sunk the kind of money some of us did... and besides... if you have quit, then well done!
