Can`t help you on the k simar but why not get a mech ? much less to go wrong and there are some quite sturdy ones available. Ive not turned my vamo on since I got a decent mech.
Ive gt a nemisis clone doing bugger all if your stuck for something to use while you find what you want next. Its not the sturdiest of mods but it works. Had to squish the locking ring a bit so the threads are now a bit tighter than they should be. Your for nothing if it helps ?

Ive just got a kayfun and 2 quartz tanks from fasttech csmith10 . The quartz tanks seam crap . They are very very fragile, broke one already just pushing it over the orings. And the worst bit the tank no longer screws together. The quartz tank is just held in place by the friction of the orings. Bit of a pull or nock and the top of your tank will drop off which is pretty useless. Wouldn`t waist your money unless you never intend to take your kayfun out the house.

Spoke to Doris earlier, the top caps we have ARE the upgraded ones!! the old ones didn't have the 'button' in the middle, the atty poked through to connect Maybe thats your trouble then ? My 4nine is an infinite with the original style top, Worked bang on from day one. I had to use 2 magnets on the battery but they came supplied so it was no hassle. Done a bit of fiddling with it now (shortened the top cap thread, shortened the tube, switched the magnets on the battery for a 6mm x 2mm one) and the result is a .94mm switch throw with the perfect weight . I didn`t really need to faff as it was usable out the box.

Q Get a thinner magnet for the bottom of your battery . Its also essential the the positive pin on the atty is protruding past the 510 thread to avoid shorting. If the top cap wasn`t very thin most attys wouldn`t have enough thread length to contact the battery. If your atty compresses the battery so far down there is no switch movement at all your atty should constantly fire ?

I don`t know if its possible to easily remove every component and switch so its just a bare shell ? If it is easy just mix up a mild caustic soda solution and dunk in the black ally parts and it will remove the anodising and black dye and leave you with a raw silver finish. The finish will be flat but ally is easy to polish Yeah you say that until I'm left with 26 bits of wire and a smashed circuit board with bits of glue these look nice Any electrickary would be your problem , I take no responsibility for spare parts Removing the finish is easy though Much easier if you can but the colour you want and at the price I`m sure they will sell well and soon be out in every colour the other clones are Its just can you wait ?? lol

I can`t be bothered to trawl through their forum to find if a product is good, If your site allows reviews they all should be posted (as long as they arn`t rude etc) , Any company that only lives good reviews is a pretty shitty company. The discussions button is right next to the reviews button. No need to trawl. Awesome, Just left a rubbish review in discussions

It's usually the discussion threads on FT that point out issues. I've seen bad reviews, but heard that it's difficult to get them posted. Ive had good and bad from both fasttech and focal. Clone kanger tanks from both are great, You struggle to tell the difference in quality from the original. 2 mech mods (one from each) Both utter cack , The mod from fastech feels good material quality but suffers on bad threading so is nearly useless (I only have one tank thats doesn`t fall off) The mod from focal its just a flimsy piece of cack and again suffers from bad threading but this time on the lock ring. China is like a lucky dip, sometimes you win , sometimes you loose. Some things are 1/3rd the cost of over here, somethings about the same. I think UK sellers try and avoid the cack as they know it will comeback, China sellers just seam to care about low costs and really for £5-10 probably don`t get much sent back by the majority of buyers as its too much hassle for a few quid. Fastech won`t live a review if you slate a product which is pretty grim Not tried with focal as the mod I bought was on special and I can`t find it listed now. You take your chances with any china seller and if 2 out of 3 items work your still usually quids in . So far Ive had 3 mods and only one is any good so Ive about broke even on that one.

Glad you all like it , I`m pretty pleased with it Being a bit wider makes it a lot easier to grip than my 4nine clone. Its now going to be my new work mod. Defo don`t want to get into the selling malarkey decoy, too much stress. Whats the idea then ? I`m thinking maybe a side button for a future project . maybe for an 18500 batt or a skinny one thats really light weight, or both but any idea thats interesting to make will be good if I have a use for it and materials at hand
