It's a clone, not a genuine spinner - if that bothers you. Anything on fasttech listed as <product name> style blah blah blah isn't genuine. Still its cheap!

My name is Dave, and I'm a Fasttech buyer, there it's out. However... I do have some concerns about their quality control, they're cheap as chips and the final product shows. There was an atty resistance tester I got off them that broke after a week, turns out the 510 connector was held on not by a washer and nut but completely by a blob of glue. Not a problem with a dinky little resistance test device. However I also bought one of their Hana Modz clones, using it but I won't leave it on the PC to charge out of sight, and remove the atty overnight. Those concerns notwithstanding, you can't beat them on price

There are load of perfectly good electronic products there like the Nitecore chargers, Sony & Panasonic Batteries etc. Been pondering on a Hana clone as a backup (not just FT) and just cant be sure of the circuit quality, just ordered the box form FT and gonna put a real DNA in it. When the quality control is off with a mech mod or an atty it's easy to spot & fix. My ohm tester is stuck together with hot glue, but its quite accurate, not broken and I think the sell hot glue guns to Dave Tease-smiley

Agreed VapingBad, I normally steer well clear of far Eastern clone makers when it comes to electronics, but curiosity and a full set of cat lives led me to get the Fasttech Hana Modz clone. Working in telecomms for 20 odd years I'm aware that leccy can kill you VERY easily, and small devices are more dangerous as they look so dinky and harmless till... BANG there goes your hand I'm very ocd about batteries for that reason. AW IMR, Efest black and red, and Torchy-sourced Sony 18650s I'm ok with. Oh and on batteries, the FT clone comes with one, a purple Efest. ronaldo would have a point of view about using one of those things

I am OCD (would not put it quite that way) about batteries and how I charge, use and store them as the present a very small risk that can have very big consequences that are easy to avoid. Eg got 2 new chargers and kept a spread sheet on voltages & amps drawn from mains against time until I have faith in them, then went on to record another 80 odd battery charges (V before, charged & charges + 24 h and timing) so I have data that I can use to tell if anything is amiss easily. A lot of people would call me ocd or odd, I prefer safe and in the know. And I still don't charge unattended.

I trust AW IMRs in particular having tested one to destruction inadvertently, shorted it out in a jacket pocket on keys and the top blew off and let off a bit of a acid and quite a stink, but didn't over heat or thermally overrun. If that'd been a cheapo ICR I dread to think what the result would have been.

To summarise then : FT metal is weaker than other brands (the FT Hana Modz clone I got is much lighter physically than the Cana Modz Cloupor) and they have crap engineering, awful QA, they have a pile em high mentality. FT electronics are to be avoided if you don't know what a 30W battery can do to your hand or face. Or have good life insurance. FT however are cheap. Safety first folks

I wouldn't go that far most of the non electrical is fine ("cheap" so not always a high standard of finish, cleanliness or durability) and SOME of their electrical stuff is OK, just be careful out there. I have had well over 20 FT orders with only a few duds, which they sorted, it just takes ages. I will be ordering again and again and ...

I've got these coming LINKY and they are genuine , I either got one as a mistake or a freebie before and considering Kanger's QC isn't the best , you could probably get a better product if you chosea non genuine tank.
Just a pity they don't seem to do a geniuine Protank 2 Mini and a mini airflow controller V2 as I would be ordering those.

I'm just going to answer my own question here , but FastTech do do authentic Mini Protank 2's BUT I can get them cheaper in the UK , I don't quite know how they are, but I'm pleased I can and I'll slowly but surely change my EVOD's over to Mini Protank 2's.
