And to think that when growing up, I looked up to adults and authority figures as being the pinnacle of logic and intelligence...

I agree that the price is pretty steep, the juice was not the best choice and it's questionable whether a VTR is the right kit to sell to a new vaper. The reason I didn't elaborate more on those points is because I didn't want them to detract from the main question about what I thought was the most important concern, which was battery safety. Personally, I think it is profiteering but I can only go on hearsay. Would have been a different outcome had I been there. Yes, she said the price stung and it's rather hefty but she is not unhappy with it and is content to keep it as a ''at home'' device. We all know that the VTR is a good mod/doorstop/knuckle-duster/ emergency make-up mirror (apparently). I've provided her with links to trusted vendors and she'll be getting a vv Spinner for out and about, some decent juice and a good quality charger (thanks igual, VapingBad). The battery is a re-branded Samsung, which ties in to the naming and shaming that has been suggested. I'd rather not point to a specific address, as I wasn't physically there to witness the exchange but suffice to say, on a general note, this company has been known to be litigious against criticism and is known to be devilishly pricey. I know it's infuriating when things like this happen but I guess the best we can do is try and nip the bulls**t in the bud when we see it but at the same time avoiding witch-hunts, which can quickly get out of hand. Anyway, I've waffled on enough. Thanks for the great feedback and suggestions.

Now, feel free to call me a numbskull but the advice given to a friend of mine doesn't sound right, to me. She had been dithering about trying vaping instead of the cigs and, probably unwisely, stopped on the spur of the moment, at a certain b&m ecig store to buy some gear and start vaping. Well, £100 lighter and armed with a VTR, 1x 18650 battery, 1 x single bay usb charger and 30ml of 1% nic juice, off she went. Read into the price what you will, vendors can charge what they want and if someone is willing to pay then so be it.
My main concern is not that, but it's that she was told to buy a specific charger and told to only charge the battery from a laptop. To enforce this, she was also shown photographs of burned out wall chargers/adapters and told that this could likely happen if she used anything else besides the laptop. I only found out because she called me asking how long the battery would take to charge, as hers had been charging for ages but charger wouldn't turn green. Possible crap charger aside, I was under the impression and also from what I've read, that charging from a PC and, especially a lappy, was a no-no. Best is to have a high enough output usb wall socket adapter with the correct, regulated cable for the device/battery, no?
Do you think this is uninformed, erroneous advice to give or is it erring on the side of caution, thinking that perhaps, if something did go wrong, the lappy would fizzle out rather than the battery explode or burn? As I said, please correct me if I'm wrong but it just sounded rather bizarre information to give a new vaper.

Now, this is a long shot. Has anyone tried the ROK Classic Tobacco juice? Reason I ask is that, strangely, it is my favourite tobacco flavour and I'm trying to find something similar that isn't as pricey. To me it tastes like a sweet/caramel/toffee tobacco and I've tried to self replicate it but not really getting it right. The closest I've tried is Griz's Caramel Tabac but that's a bit too harsh for me. The ROK tobacco has, for me, a nice sweet note and is very thick for a 70/30 pg/vg blend. Maybe it has extra ingredients to thicken and sweeten it like that, I don't know, I'm not that adept at mixology yet. The problem is that the ROK juice only comes in 10ml bottles and at a fiver each, gets pricey when ordering 30ml or more, so no incentive to buy larger quantities. Delivery charge is also towards the upper end, so not great when ordering small amounts. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for a sweet/caramel/toffee type tobacco juice, I'd be very grateful. Thanks. One exception.....Manabush. I do have a stash of it and it holds a special place on my taste-buds.

Malwarebytes can be a bit sneaky with the wording when installing. Try uninstall and re-installing, paying close attention to the options. Here are some other programs you could try if you want to. CCleaner --- great for cleaning junk files, uninstalling other programs and annoying toolbars, enabling/disabling startup programs. CCleanerSpyBot S&D --- same as malwarebytes, just not as fast. It does have a nice feature where you can immunize your browser from malware/spyware. Spybot S&DHitmanPro --- again, same type of malware remover, quite powerful. It's a 30 day trial but good if you just want to use it once or twice to remove some nasties. HitmanProGhostery --- a browser addon that prevents redirects, trackers, beacons, popups etc. I find it invaluable and is easy to enable/disable as you see fit. GhosteryAVG --- free antivirus. AVGAvast --- free antivirus. AvastWhen installing anything, always keep a close watch at every stage. Even reputable companies will try and slip a sponsored toolbar or browser offer that are easy to overlook and require you to uncheck the boxes to opt out. I remember a couple of years ago, my wife's pc ground to a halt. She had 11 different versions of the Yahoo toolbar

You could also try using syringes with a blunt needle to transfer juice from bottle to tank. Just pop off the tip of the juice bottle for easy access and away you go. I use them when I get thick juices that come in stubby-nosed bottles and afterwards just rinse them out with warm water. They are also handy for measuring out the same exact amount of juice every time.

Thanks for the heads-up, will give it a go. I'm the same, I like to mix a bit with tobacco's and coffee's but find some are really overpowering and either too sweet or have too much of a burnt sugar edge to them. It's quite bizarre actually, the smell of freshly made caramel ejuice makes me want to heave and I can smell it on everything but after a week or two steeping, it mellows considerably and then I can't get enough.

When I told my doctor I'd given up smoking and was vaping, she said to me in a patronising tone "oh you don't want to be using those e cigerettes - I've read reports and they kill people". I was gobsmacked by her attitude - not even a "well done" for stopping smoking. Next time you go, take a print out of this.

I've just had a delivery from them and also got an extra 10m free. I agree, very nice gesture am I'm extremely grateful. Included in the package was a pamphlet with a link to this site vape-atomizer-meshSame group, looks like it's vape tailored.
