Looks like a fully and easily rebuildable version of the stardust design: Wow. I want. And I was hoping to stop spending on hardware for a while at least. Sigh.

Sometimes the old tastebuds do go funny as they recover from smoking tobacco, it happened to me, but it doesn't last forever, so I hope they come back up soon.

What is probably happening is that a dying carto has (in the cases you describe) higher resistance than normal as it dies. So increasing the voltage makes perfect sense. But where that voltage comes from doesn't matter, electrons are assumed to be pretty much identical wherever they are. If it works with a passthrough there's no reason why it shouldn't work with an LT.

The other thing I've just noticed is the red strapline on top of the banner. It doesn't quite work there.
One possibility is to put it immediately below the banner image on a single line. I would try a nice script font, white on black.
On the technical stuff, I think we all have our own methods. Back in the days when I had patience, I used to skim manuals first just to see what was available, then dive in, but each to his own. You seem to be getting results.

I like that better, but it's always a matter of taste. It feels more assertive, without being brash. Very nice, I do love a clean design.

Yes the actual fonts are fine, I like them and I'm quite fussy about stuff like that. Tahoma is fine, and I might try Verdana as a close alternative. I would just try whatever font you use one notch larger for the main text. I agree that people can change this themselves but I think the default should be as readable as possible on standard settings. Very minor points though. I was lucky enough to learn typography from a master of the art, so I'm a bit of a nerd on the subject.

I like the clean design, it's certainly presentable enough already to be used.
For the blog, there are a couple of design things you might want to think about, but they are mainly matters of taste.
The first is the typeface you're using. Given that vapers have a wide age range, some of them will have imperfect eyesight and I would say you could usefully increase the point size of the default text (headings etc are fine) a little to cater for them. The contrast between text colour and background is great, so it's not a massive problem, and it can be adjusted by users, but on my default setting the point size needs a slight bump up.
Second is the quantity of blank space at the margins. You might easily use a wider format to accommodate a slightly bigger point size, and still leave enough room for decent margins. It depends what you want to use the margins for, if anything. It feels a bit like a thin ribbon of text when using a browser in a landscape format.
Nitpicking I know, but those were my thoughts. Generally, as I said, I like the look of it.

I didn't vote for them because I haven't tried them, but I suspect Imists aren't getting the love they deserve. I've seen perfectly respectable and sane people who find it difficult to choose between them and Visions.
Possible reasons: slightly higher startup cost, it's a bigger commitment to try one out, and there are fewer outlets so you're likely to be tied one supplier with limited stocks/spares. Not sure how ongoing costs would compare. One of these days when I'm feeling lavish I might try one out.

I know Jerry but i couldnt resist LOL ...i dont remember that bit to be honest but i gotta say i much prefer baseball to cricket any day ...whenever i go to the states i always go to the batting cages ...great fun Since you are familiar with baseball, Gordy, I'll explain what he did in baseball terms. He hit a fly ball to deep left field. lol. I don't think that is acceptable in the game of cricket. Translation: He cut it to deep square leg. Perfectly OK in cricket. It's fairly similar to baseball, in spirit anyway, but with more cake.

They suit me pretty well, better than cartos and roughly the same faff level. They're far from perfect, but I think everyone has different requirements and preferences, things they are prepared to tolerate or not. I've not had a serious duffer yet, but it may just be luck.
I don't mind them being a bit technical, as long as they vape well and have reasonable cost of ownership. But to avoid their techy side, you can just chuck them away as soon as they start playing up. It's only skinflints like me who want to make them last for months.

How to put back together:
Screw the mouthpiece down as far as it will go without over-tightening, then unscrew it by a full turn.
Using an attached battery, line up the top of the central column/cap & washer with the bottom of the mouthpiece, pushing it up as far as it will go. Rotate it as you look at it, to make sure it's properly centred.
Unscrew the battery without disturbing the alignment of the column. Replace the bottom retaining ring. Push it down onto a hard surface to push the ring as high as it will go.
Screw down the mouthpiece.
Check that the central column is making a seal with the mouthpiece and properly centred. If it's not aligned properly it will leak, so start again if this is the case.
Overtightening the battery can also ruin the alignment.
Dry hits generally arise because either the wick isn't wet or the voltage is too high.

If the centrepin bit of the adaptor has a notch in the top, you can screw them up or down to adjust the height of the centrepin. It might help to raise it. From the female end (because the screwdriver I've got handy will fit that end) I'm "unscrewing", ie anti-clockwise, yes? Well that makes no difference so I'll try the other way. I see that you can screw the pin in the Stardust itself too. To be honest I've no idea which way it goes, I've not had to do it, but it's worth playing around with to see if it will make contact somehow. It sounds like a contact problem. Basically with an adaptor there are two electrical connection points, batt to adaptor and adaptor to device. You seem to have lifted the battery pin so... Hope it works.
