My OH doesn't know she has been nic free yet. She went nic free at the same time as me and hasn't noticed. She has been reducing along with me, but I didn't want any psychological influence in her vaping. She has continued to vape but said nothing, so all is well so far for both of us. I'll tell her in a few weeks once the nic is well and truly got out of her system. I do think that slowly reducing was the key in our success, but everyone is different and everyone is on their own journey. I'm just glad I am finally free of the grip of nicotine but more importantly the smoke that used to go with it. As for taste. I think the juice has tasted better as the nicotine has reduced. Gone is the peppery back taste. Just smooth flavour.

I guess I'm a creature of habit. I have stayed with one flavour, lime, since the beginning, That's not to say I haven't tried other flavours, I have, just none that really made me go wow I like that. So stuck with the tried and tested. The same goes with sub ohm and high ohm coils. Just not my thing I suppose. I have loads of atties I will never use again. One day I must dig them out and pass them on to others.  |

Everybody is different, and as PHE keep saying vaping is 95% safer than smoking so most of us are already 95% better off regardless of our nicotine intake. I'm not sure getting rid of nicotine makes it any safer, it just means one thing less to put in the mix, and one thing less to be addicted to. Which is after all why we smoked all these years. After three years, vaping is now a habit, but one hell of a lot better than smoking. So we should all be proud of that.

I got down to 1mg, then 0.5mg then 0.25 mg and then finally 0.01mg before going to zero. I took nearly a year going from 1mg to 0mg as I saw no reason to rush and possibly fail.

Thanks everyone. It was never my intention to get off nicotine when I started vaping, but to get off fags. That worked and so the next goal was nicotine. I'm in no rush to stop vaping, that may happen, but it's not a specific goal. In my book vaping is probably doing me less harm than the beer I brew, so I don't have any problem vaping.

It has only taken me three and a bit years, but I can now say I am finally off nicotine. I have been vaping zero nic for a month now, and not even noticed it to be honest. I started on 30mg back in 2014 and gradually reduced the nic until in mid January I mixed my first batch of zero nic juice. I started smoking at about age 12, so it has taken nearly 50 years to get rid of the nicotine addiction. Thank you vaping and the help on here and other forums.  Now all I need to do is get rid of the shineyitis addiction. |

I'm not talking about the financial aspects of smoking on society, but on the individual smoker. I'm sure there will be some die hard denyers, but to me the cat is out of the bag. Smoking is bad for your health. There is a real negative to vaping from a HMRC perspective. There is a loss of around £40 million each years as the quoted 20,000 switch to vaping. As that figure is compounded that adds up to a serious loss of tax revenue which needs to be replaced from an alternative source. They probably would have liked to tax vaping, except it would not look good taxing a life saving alternative to smoking. PHE took the wind out of their sails when they announced that vaping was 95% safer. The reduction in NHS spending will reduce over time, but the fact remains that some of us long term smokers, now converted vapers will get some health related illness from the many years we smoked. So the savings to the NHS will be down the road, but the financial loss to the public purse is immediate. |

I'm all for prescription ecigs. Not that it would help me as I have already quit tobacco. We all know the high health cost involved in smoking, so getting that down must be financially better for the NHS. Yes people are spending over £3000 a year on smoking, and would possibly pay about £100 on ecig prescriptions, but how much are the NHS saving on the cost of cancer drugs/treatments and other smoking related health costs? The government don't need to go down the prescriptions route though, the best thing they could do is repeal the regulations in March 2019 on Brexit. Make it easier to vape, and get decent vaping equipment, then even more than 20,000 will switch to vaping each year. Anyway well done PHE for such a positive report.  |

I don't know this company, or have ever used them, but I am told that Elegomall are actively promoting and selling vaping stuff to under age children. So one to avoid.

This is a great unit to put in your pocket and head to the pub. With an extra battery and a bottle of juice it is a great unit to take to work. Being only 2ml is a bit of a drag, but these are the time we are in.

This is a new offering by OBS into the All in One market. The OBS KFB
 On first appearance it looks like many of the AIO’s on the market. It is slightly bigger than the Joyetech AIO, but has a few innovations I think people will like. I certainly do. First off it is a top fill, so no need to unscrew the top like many of the others. All you do is lift a ring and fill. Close the ring and off you go. The tank capacity is 2ml. It also has airflow control from very tight to reasonably free flow. Unlike all the other AIO’s , the OBS KFB uses a replaceable 18650 battery. The OSB KFB uses 0.3 Ohm coils and there is no adjustment to do. Just fill, set the airflow and vape.  So how does it vape. I used 50/50 juice and was quite impressed with the taste. Clouds were quite voluminous, so not a stealth vape machine by any means. I have been using it for about a week and not noticed any drop off from the coil, so how long lived I don’t yet know, but impressed so far and I’m using a custard. It is quite noisy though, with a hearty rasping sound as you inhale. The coil is easy to change, just grip the airflow ring and unscrew. Unscrew the coil from the top cap unit and replace.  The fire button gives a nice click when pressed, and a bit wasted does light up when pressed. However you can’t see that bit as usually your thumb would cover it, so not sure why it lights up, but that’s designers for you. You can switch off the unit with 5 rapid click, and it will then flash amber about 3 times. To switch on you press 5 times again, and it flashes again. So safe to lock and put in your pocket or handbag. The good or bad thing depending on your point of view is the battery. Unlike most others with fixed internal batteries, the OBS KFB uses replaceable 18650 batteries. Again good or bad there is no usb charging option. So the battery must be charged out of the unit. Personally I prefer that option, and should be safer, plus assuming you have a decent charger, charge the battery fully. It also means that you can take extra charged batteries with you if needed when out and about. The only down side is that there is no means of checking the battery level. Having said that, it is an AIO so you can’t expect all the bells and whistles of units with lcd screens and costing twice as much.  For the money it is a great vape and worth considering as an out and about vape which is easy to put in your pocket. Check it out at Heaven Gifts HERE. |
