So what is the general consensus about which is the "best" iStick to buy? 30W or 50W? I'm not sure how long the iStick lasts (there's another question) but I'm thinking of buying a backup/second iStick? 30W or 50W please???
ps: Has anyone had an iStick die on them yet?

Thanks for all the replies and advice guys! Yeah I "think" I have the 20W and the lowest I can get it is 3.0V. It seems to be settling down a little now! I have to admit that despite being a tad aggressive, it's by far the best thingy I've used so far in my new life without the stinkies! Very satisfying indeed!

Hi guys,
My new iStick seems a little bit aggressive! I'm not sure if I've got it turned down as low as it can go. Can someone who uses an iStick please tell me what the lowest settings are? By that I mean precisely what figures I should see in the LED display that will confirm I've got it turned down to its lowest? I'm not very technical so keep it simple please!
Regards, Mike

Is it from a UK vendor? I think you get a 12 month warranty under sale of goods act if it is? Yes a UK Vendor and the site I bought it from are stating the 1-3 month life expectancy. If that's what they are saying, then I don't think I'll have much of a chance getting a replacement!

Hi guys, I really like the Kanger Aerotank MOW and bought two so I could have one in use and one charging. I have the tanks sitting on top of the Kanger EMOW 100 Mah VV which I also really like. One of the batteries packed in today after just under 2 months use. I started thinking/looking into warranty periods and was shocked to read that the batteries have an expected lifespan of only 1-3 months! Is that the sort of battery life expectancy that most people are finding? Think I might have to start re-thinking my set-up!

... and returning to the original topic for this post, I just wanted to confirm that the single coil is giving me a way superior vaping experience than a dual coil!

chykensa ... with the "closely wrapped" Kanger coils, is it possible to squeeze and heat the coils and effectively create a microcoil out of these? You might be able to, but I suspect that the wire is quite thin, and therefore more springy and uncooperative At the price you are paying though, it's worth a try! You may then find that the resistance is too low. Best thing is get yourself some .25 Kanthal and have a play before you need to, that way you relieve the stress of getting it right so you can vape! I've got some 25 Kanthal (got something right lol) thanks chykensa so will be giving it a go soon!

I think what you're after are Pre-Coiled Welded Wires - NR-R-NR 33 AWG / 1.8ohm / 30*30mm(You should be able to cancel your order for the ones with wicks as they've not been despatched yet - maybe the same for the Kanger coil heads.) I looked carefully at that. They aren't actually "fused" together but "tightly coiled." That's how they're described in the drop-down menu and if you look closely at the photos, they are just tightly coiled as opposed to "lightly coiled".

Thanks for the help and comments guys! I'm sure I'll have some fun (as in stress) at building "something"! Whether it will be "vapeable" remains to be seen!!! Watch this space!!!

To my knowledge mikemichelle Kanger don't manufacture "microcoils". The stock Kanger heads are open coils wrapped around a silica wick, whereas a microcoil is a 'closed' coil where all the wraps of wire are touching. These are then wicked with usually cotton wool or rayon (other materials can sometimes be used too). It is possible to but pre-made microcoils both in the UK and also from the likes of Fasttech, but most of us wrap our own microcoils, which are the coil of choice for most rebuildable atomisers or RBA/RTAs (the 'R' stands for 'rebuildable'). It's an easy mistake to make as the Kanger coils are so closely wrapped that they do look a bit like microcoils, but they aren't. Having said all this, it is worth trying a proper microcoil, maybe from Virtual Vape at Virtual Vape - they are quite easy to install into a Protank single-coil head, and once in, will last for months with a dry burn and re-wicking every week or so, which you can easily do yourself. Give us a shout if you need links to tutorials or video clips showing this procedure, and move your vaping up to the next level Hi chykensaOh ... I assumed they were "welded together" as per their pre-coiled welded wires with wicks. I've just ordered a bunch of these! I thought they'd be pretty much the same but apparently not!

The problem with all the manufacturers' coil heads is how much they vary in quality/effectiveness, even between coils in the same blister packs. If you're lucky, you'll receive 30 superb heads that'll each last a week or two (depending on your juice and usage). If not, they could need replacing every day. Yes, sady I'm beginning to find this out myself hence I'm going to have a go at making my own!

Hi djsI'm comparing authentic manufactured Kanger microcoils as in Dual Microcoil and Single Microcoil. And for a pack of 5 we're talking $6.63 (£4.31 dual) and $3.74 (£2.43 single). In fact I ordered 30 of the singles and with the bulk discount they cost about £0.43 each! That's to tide me over while I start making my own!

Hi guys,
I'm still quite new (been on the vape just 2 months now) but just wanted to share what I've experienced that might be of help to other newbies.
I mainly use a Kanger Aerotank EMOW with 1.5ohm dual microcoil. Yesterday I tried using it with a single 1.8ohm microcoil (which came with my Protank 2) and found it was much better in every way!
I'm definitely going to stick with this single 1.8ohm microcoil (which is quite a bit cheaper than 1.5ohm microcoil on Fasttech - that's if you're not in to building your own). Maybe some of the more experienced guys on the forum care to comment?
