@ foxy.. Thanks:) and yeah, I noticed if I stood it up I kept knockng it over and ended up getting mad lol.. got quite annoying in the end.. shame they dont make some kind of stand for them.. @chrissie, Thank You.. and yeah, it sure a lot less effort than an ciggy type Jemima.. hehe, I bet that's fun to watch, you will have to blow giant smoke rings and see if you can train him to jump through them eheh Roz & Grizwald, Yeah, I noticed even after a day of puffing and just trying to clear the atty it still has a strange oily (smelly welly) type of taste/scent.. I switched to one of the boges Cartomisers and it was fine so it must be the primer.... I might try your method Griswald of boiling it etc.. Tom. "it will hang about for ages like a cheap horror film " LOL!.. mannn I love all the slogans and classic one liners in this forum, I've used some for my fb status lol, heh..I'm gonna start a tshirt buisiness.

Hi Foxy:)
thanks. and oh yeah I love the way it emulates smoke and I love to watch it float past the light etc, and you answered another question, that's one of the things I was worried about.. I saw the thick vapor and thought ooh noo my lovely freshly decorated room etc, and remember what it used to be liked when I smoked analogues etc... Phew!.. thanks for that!.. I remember moving into a house where the previous owners had smoked constantly for what looked like 40+ years.. OMG!
And yeah, I'm loving the vapor from the Riva.. with my ecig I liked to kind of just let it hang out of my mouth and puff on it hands free, but not so easy to do with the Riva haha.. but what an upgrade to my cigalike.. oh aye!..
actually while I remember, can I just ask, is it best to store it horizontal, or standing up etc?..
Thanks
M

Hi All..
I got my Riva this morning!.. whooo hoooo.. anyway, when I fired it up it first tasted weird a bit nasty, and the vapor smelt like old wellies..eww.. then I rememeber about primer fluid etc.. so blew out the atty and just puffed through a cart but blowing the vapor straight out without inhaling etc..
(literally just trying to clear off the primer) anyway.. the vapor is smelling much better now and smelling like the ejuice, but the vapor seems to linger for ages just like analogue smoke and sort of drifts slowly around the room.. kinda scary just how much like tobbacco smoke it is (but without the smell etc) I don't mind it, it's quite funky it emulates smoke so well. just wondered if this is normal as my normal as I never noticed it so much with my 510 cigalike..
is this just the mix of the ejuice or do you think may still be some primer oil in there etc?
I don't want to inhale yet until I know all the primer is gone
(but loving the vapor output of the Riva and the feel of it)

Thanks Gordy! and yeah, I'm going to leave it to dry properly.. be interesting to see if it survived the drop as well as the water.. hmm, I cleaned the atty a bit as I worried about vaping any chems that may of been in the mop bucket lol..
interesting like Des says that the electricals can actually survive water.. I guess its the stickier stuff that really messes them up.. hmm
Cheers!

grrr... I dropped my 510 cig type in the mop bucket and there was a bit of water in there..
I fished it out quick as I could and put it on the radiator on low to try and dry it out.. but when I put the battery in the charger it just flashes, and when I draw from it, it lights up but doesn't heat up the atomiser.. (strangely the atomiser still seems to work)
do you think the battery is goosed? should i just bin it?..

Way to go Karma!.. You did great, quiting smoking (nasties) is certainly not easy. there are so many different aspects to it.. but your already over the worst so you can enjoy the experience of vaping now and still feel proud. I still felt a smoker when I started vaping but not so much now.. I think the fact that I look, feel healthier and don't smell like an ashtray has moved me out of the realm of smoker and into the domain of vaper.. (Which benefits speak for themselvs eh).. hell, even my house smells a lot better and doesn't have that horrible stale smell when I walk in. sooo.. Well Done! can only get better from here....

Steptoe. man that sounds like hell on earth.. pffT.. I was just thinking about it all this morning and in a way, soo glad I can vape though I still worry about it but I think going through something like that, then having to quit cold turkey on top of it... nooo.. that would just be depressing. Lots of people seem to be fine with lung issues and vaping though as long as they keep it moderated (ish) I guess.. You did well getting through all of that.. sheesh! Perpetua haha botty soft, I'm going to use that... and yeah, that makes sense and with the info too, eek.. just shows you what tobacco and all those chems actually do to our bodies. eww.. @johanio Yup!, Ive rearanged my room so I have 1 draw just full of "ready to reach" vape paraphenalia... (havnt got a spelling dictionary in there though:S)...pffft

haha, I meant outside the hospital.. .... mind you If I'd of had an ecig.. hmmm.. and oh my Warlord, sounds like it was a total nightmare, (just a routine sp is bad enough) I suppose it's quite rare there is actually such complications but omg.. soo glad they managed to get it sorted though, I can only imagine from my recent week in hospital what it must of been like though.. I still get pain now and I get paranoid with the slightest twinge, weird sensation etc, but that's normal and everyone seems to be the same after a pnuemo.. hmmm.. there doesn't seem to be much research on it either, other than".. ooh if your skinny and you smoke, there is more chance you get one etc..". thats the other thing is it happens to moslty otherwise fully healthy individuals yet the condition or the reality of it has such a drastic effect on your life because you have to do things differently or always be aware of it etc.. crazy!.. having said that, It really kicked me up the @$$ with quiting the anologues....

eek, Warlord.. yeah, same here but I never had vats or any of the other surgery, just the aspiration and chest drains.. brrrr....man, sounds like you had a much rougher time with it though eek, sorry!... not pleasant that's for sure.. pfffT.. that's what made me finally quit the analogues I had my last cig in the hospital then when I got out I found it a real struggle to quit (was easy in hospital) not so easy at home.. then I discovered ecig.. still panicked about the whole inhaling thing etc, so did loads of research on it and it seems a lot of people use ecigs for the same reason.. sooooo.. I guess as long as we keep things balanced and don't overdo it.. it will be fine.. hmm., heh, I bet there's probably a few who had spontanious SP's, I met quite a few after I came out of hospital.. and found all kinds of groups etc.. thank god for ecigs:)
And Well Ann:) I value your opinion.. "Noted"...Thank You.. Stay tuned for question 6 lol

Thanks folks, that makes a lot of sense.. and I've took notice.
Think I will maybe keep some kind baby wipes, and something with water in nearby, a couple of times I've overfilled and juice has leaked a bit on my hand, then my pet has come running over and wanted a fuss etc. ( I was aware of the toxicity etc, so never stroked him) wasn't sure if I could just wipe my hand sort of thing or needed to wash it off completely.. (I WILL not take any risk with my pet) so will try my best not to overfill and spill and make sure I wash it off completely, just a bit of a pain having to get up and run to the kitchen all the time..:S
Thanks for the all the other answers too makes a lot of sense.. I made myself a bit light headed when I got my first few juices, but I never realised one of them was high strength, so havnt made that mistake since..
And yeah, I had spontanious pnumothorax a while back, so always try to take as little vapor as possible into my lung.. I know putting anything in there probably isnt a great idea, but its' a lot better than smoking and from readin, researching many forums lots of people have had one and use ecigs for years and been fine soo..
Cheers!

Since vaping... I've noticed my skin feels soft and slightly oily but it looks healthy and feels nice.. 1: do you think that's a result of (not smoking analogues, or the oils from the ejuice)? maybe both but my skin looks much better than it ever has. 2: I've gotten quite a bit of ejuice (I wish there was another name for it haha, anyway) in my mouth from overfilling I think, only on my lip and it actually tastes quite nice and sweet etc, but I spit it out.. (will I be ok? ) I guess so as I'm still typing this.. 3: does anyone know how quickly the juice is likely to loose is toxicity on the skin, or once you've spilt a bit on your hand etc.. if for example a tiny bit of juice drips onto your hand, then you wipe your hand with a tissue and then stroke your pet etc.. would juice harm your pet, or would it be wise to go and completely wash your hands etc when the slighest bit of ejuice is on it (How strong/toxic) is this stuff? 4: what are the common symptoms of too much nicotene from ecigs, are they likely to match the same symptoms from too much nicotene with analogues? 5: If you just draw the vapor into your mouth, then exhale through your nose (ie, dont do the throat hit) is the vapor still going in your lungs or is it going in but much less sort of thing.. 6: Can't remember what 6 was...*might come back to that one* Thanks M

yeeeah
Exactly like that (only a nice wood one)
hmm, that's the thing dimensions etc, something I don't have yet till my Riva arrives and I can get hold of a pipe on monday, but like you said, could maybe drill out the hole and find some kind of rubber bung to put in the hole so it fits snug onto the riva..
Thanks for the info, I'm not sure what dimensions are on my Riva.. or the hole on a standard pipe for that matter (I'm going to research and try and find out)
