Thanks Roger I did look at that one, but the thing is a few months ago, people would recommend the TR-001... one thing that's been consistent for quite some time, not just in the ecig world, but in the world of high powered torches too, is that the Pila is apparently the absolute best, the standard by which others are judged, so decided I may as well go for that. I don't want to be swapping, changing and upgrading every so often, and it's only £40 if you shop around.
Back to the TR-001, I have now noticed, as somebody said earlier in this thread, that the sound drops off after a while, it's still there, but much lower. I also had a battery that I ran down to 3.4 volts, by mistake, and when I put that on charge it's much louder.

Thanks 2risky, I absolutely do check the charge level every time I use a freshly charged battery, so will continue to do this, and hope all is well. I'm hoping to buy a Pila as soon as I can afford one, so hopefully it lasts until then, then it will become just a backup charger.

So should I contact the vendor, with it being brand new and making the noise?

I thought for a minute there you actually meant me Hifi, got a bit worried, I don't have skype, don't even have a mic as I use a desktop, so would have to buy a cam with one built in or a headset lol.... That being said, if Macca is going to accept your invitation, and this matter is going to be discussed, I am very interested in tuning in... So please keep us posted.

got to agree with hi fi on this one you cant buy patches tablets or any other nrt's from any where except chemist's if you did you cant be sure of whats in them and the same will be for cartos and ecigs unless you met a guy in a long mac saying ere mate wanna buy some ejuice It happened with viagra and fake vodka and has some dire consequences better we use and promote within rather than have it classified and restricted for those it may benefit (the poor etc ) will find a way around giving up buy sticking with their black market suppliers at least those of us that are a litlle informed can produce our own mods atties and juice if you can get hold of a legit source of nicotine mix, but most (me included) wont know therefore will continue with their habit and be none the wiser to a wonderful experience as vaping Not trying to get involved in this again, because I've decided I want to study more, until I can honestly say I understand the implications fully, but I have to say, you are wrong there, NRT can be bought from the pound shop mate I bought a shed load of nicorette gum on a previous quit attempt, then realised it tasted like.... well you get the point. And savers were doing boxes containing enough patches, and gum for 1 week. Home bargains also sell most types of NRT.

i couple of points id like clearing up if you can guys. i always buy the black PCB AWs from a fairly trusted source. these www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/aw-18650-2200-mah-rechargeable-lithium-batteries.htmli did have a reply in another thread ref IMR batteries and when and what there safer for, i believe the explanation was that IMRs are more required/safer with devices with circuitry and not so important with mechanical devices such as GGs, SDs and super Ts etc. what is the safest battery firstly for mechanical devices and then for electrical. and are the PCBs safer than IMRs overall for ecigs. off topic slightly but one thing i always do/use is one of these. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-x-24Hr-Mains-Plug-Timer-Socket-Switches-Security-NEW-/380163643771 i set 3 hours at on and the rest off this you will only ever charge for 3 hours, providing you go back to the socket every 24hrs.raggy......... £899

Without getting technical, any TR-001 making a noise is moving towards failure, and needs to be replaced - they should be silent. The noise is an oscillation happening in the circuitry. With luck, it will fail benignly. Without, it could be a catastrophic failure. it's brand new, should I contact the vendor?

It's a shame the idea was ignored hifi, because the more I think about it, the more I think something along those lines would be the best outcome for everyone.
The only point I've raised that it wouldn't address is those poorer smokers, spending less than a fiver a week on smoking who can't afford any more. However if it becomes more main stream, I'm sure they'd be able to find a way of affording it, once it's proven to be beneficial for them, it's not a massive difference at the end of the day.

This is just me tossing ideas around, I have no idea of the feasibility or probability of this, but... There has been talk of classification as a recreational device, Is it possible for Ecigs to be classified as something similar to cigarettes, with regulations on manufacture, such as approved ingredients and quality testing, and regulations on distribution such as age restrictions? Although the industry is very good at regulating itself on age, so thumbs up there... Is this possible?

I thought the article read as quite favourable towards ecigs hissie, but concerned about the lack of regulation. I wouldn't call it propaganda.

That's my main concern Perps, really, that they are not regulated, and this guys says it best...
"He said: “Electronic cigarettes have the potential to save thousands of lives, but the fact that they are unregulated is bad as it leaves people open to using unclean and unsafe products."
It's all theoretical of course, because as I've repeated many times, we have good suppliers right now, trusted suppliers who do a fantastic job, but whilst they're unregulated there is nothing to stop somebody producing something less safe, and not everyone reads forums, or researches a product properly before buying, they could be harmed, and that's what I fear.
Oh and the minute someone dies, or gets ill, from some dodgy E liquid, it's all over isn't it?

You had 59% possession, 19 shots to their 6... I'd say you deserved it, but they took their chances well. At least you can look forward to a bit of banter with ammer, as the race between yours and his teams hots up
