Hello & welcome Pinky Firstly, which e-cig did you buy back in Feb & what was the mean thing about it that made you give up on it (apart from real cigs being easier) ? Knowing those 2 things might help us to suggest a more suitable model for you or help you get the best out of the one you have

Hallo Pinky, it is possibly as already mentioned that you don't have the right e cig. My first one was terrible. Personally, I could see that smoking was starting to affect my health and I hated having to keep finding a place to smoke at work. Added to that, I was seeing my friends, about five years older than me, starting to die off through smoking related illnesses That really gave me the motivation to stop and the people on this board were the inspiration to carry on using the e cig because they showed me that it did work. Best of luck - hope there is something or someone who can give you that inspiration.

We'll do our best to sort you out, Pinky, do come back and tell us about what gear you bought and any particular problems. I sometimes think it's harder for light smokers to adjust to e-cigs, they don't have the time-bomb up their b*m (ooh, I think that's the wrong end )... scylla

Hi Pinky - you have joined up at a good time - lots of newish people (me being one of them) and so far all of us having success. I know that if I had just gone and bought a gadget without this group and the wonderful advice and support, I would probably not have persevered if it didn't grab me on day one - zilch willpower. So do please come on board to get lots of support, advice and encouragement. It sounds as if you haven't had a good juice to get you appreciating electric cigs. Do come and tell us what you have tried, and we will no doubt suggest some alternatives. I know I bought some lovely flavours initially, but got no vape with them at all. Had I not had this group to suggest others, and only tried those, I would have discarded my ecig too.

Hi pinky. I'm quite new myself, only 4 or 5 weeks so far. I think Scylla is right when she says lighter smokers find it harder to adjust, I smoked 10-15 cigs a day for 40-odd years and enjoyed every one! I think the right juice matters a lot. Although I was a light smoker the one I like best is the high strength Benson Fences I got from James. I've tried others in various strengths but I keep coming back to that one, it's the closest I've tried to the experience of a real smoke. Going to be stocking up on that when I get back from my upcoming holiday. The other funny thing is I've got a DSE901 and a 510, both minis, but the 510 somehow misses the mark for me even when it's filled in exactly the same way; I love the 901 and that's the one I use all the time. I don't mind the shorter battery life, I keep a spare battery charged and just swop them over when necessary. Don't give up, you'll hit on just the right combination for you.

Inn, I still love the 901 atomiser - never liked the draw of the 510.

No weight gain from me either Pinky, one of the main reasons/excuses I'd always put off giving up. For me anyway, I'm not doing anything different from when I was smoking as the ecig completely fills the gap. As Hope says more exercising because peeps feel fitter could account for weight loss, I'm even considering ( I stress considering! ) getting one of those jogging dog leads so as I can go for a trot with the dog. May have to give that more thought however. Welcome from me btw.
