Ok - taken the plunge and gone for the Titan with the highest stregth liq. I also ordered some stuff to water it down if it's too strong tho. Add to that lot spare atomisers & cartridges and boy does the cost go up. Still gonna be worth it in the end. I'm working on the theory if I don't get on with it I can pass it on to my hubby and or son!!!

Well done Jan I'm too late with this tip for now - sorry. But you won't need many cartridges as they can be restuffed as well as refilled with juice. You also get a completely blank mouthpiece attached to every atomiser that you buy & this can also be stuffed (with fluval/wadding or blue foam) & then filled with juice. Plus, for cutting an e-liquid with too high a nicotine content, you can use glycerine. You can buy small bottles of this from the baking section of most supermarkets (on the shelf next to food flavourings), for about 45p. Or a larger 100ml bottle from a chemists for about £1.20.

I'm late with my contribution, sorry What I would say, Jan, is don't worry too much about the mouthpiece - when you're starting out, just play with your new e-cig without thinking that you have to completely stop smoking. It is so surprising how quickly you get used to any new mouthpiece shape - don't forget, a rounded mouthpiece will still be hard, when you're used to the "soft and yielding" filter tip or rollie Try to keep a very open mind, don't pressurise yourself, count every fag that you do not smoke, not the ones you do The only mouthpiece I've never been able to persist with is the very thin one that does with an 801 (which you'll never have heard of, don't matter ). scylla x

The funny thing is Scylla, to begin with I was like Jan & wanted a round mouth piece like a real cig. They are now the only ones I don't like.

Me too Jamie, but they must be chunky ones, not the thin ones like on the 801.
However, with a model that has a "right way up"*, round carts are handy cos you don't have to fiddle around getting them set correctly.
*Like a screwdriver with a lanyard attached that you want to dangle downwards, or a battery with a button on the side.

OK it arrived this morning - wish me luck. I've been having a go and I think it will take me some getting used to - especially remembering to press the ruddy button! I'm not going for an all out stop on the real thing - too soon for that so I've decided to sort of use the e-cig as a fill in at the moment. I have a habit if I'm at the PC or working, to light up have a couple of puffs and leave it in the ashtray - very wasteful. At least with this contraption it doesn't burn away before I go back to it. What I have found wierd is that I cough more than with proper smoke - it seems to catch the back of my throat - am I doing summat wrong?

Jan, when you inhale try holding the vapour in your mouth first rather than inhaling it straight into your throat.
You may also find that a good e-liquid with a higher amount of VG (rather than PG) helps.

E-cigs do seem to set off a different cough reflex to tobacco ??? I can't get my SO onto e-cigs because he coughs so much with them - although it would be hard for him to cough any more than he already does, but anyway he just will NOT persevere.

Probably sounds daft, but I sort of chug on a ecig rather drawing & inhaling as you do with smoking.
