Well I managed to register in the end, so here I am! Thanks for all the lovely advice and messages from everyone on the ebay forums, was great to have such support But I can see I'm going to have to research this for my mum as she hasnt got the energy, so can people help advise? I've read all the starter threads but im afraid its all gobbledeegook to me I mean, What's an atomiser?? How do you put it all together?? Are the batteries rechargeable? ??? Its so confusing. ??? My mum wants something that 'tastes and feels as much like a real fag as possible' So any recommendations?? And if someone could explain the above that be good too! I want to go for the cloud 9 stuff asap but no point buying it if they arent the real size a real cig etc as she will just give up!

Hello Summer I'm in exactly the same boat as you I want to vape as soon as poss, but haven't got a clue what's what! From what I can see, the 'Riva' starter set is very good and many on here rave about this particular e-cig. I do know that the starter kits do have recharchable batteries, and with these Riva sets, the batteries stay charged upto 24 hrs. I just need to get clued up about atomisers and cartridges, and what strength liquid to get

Tara and Summer - if you bought a "Mini" kit (or 2) from that site, run by the one of the most reliable and professional suppliers in the e-cig world, you wouldn't go far wrong for an introduction. At the same time buy a small bottle of 1.8mg whatever tobacco-y sounding juice takes your fancy. Once you've got started, our James (Paradise Vape) will happily supply whatever flavour juice you desire, at whatever strength. When your batteries and atties wear out you can decide if you want to continue with the model you've been using or branch out. But hang on for other members to pop in soon with their advice scylla

I want to go for the cloud 9 stuff asap but no point buying it if they arent the real size a real cig etc as she will just give up! A very quick answers to a couple of your questions and atomiser is the thing that make the e-cig work it has a heating element and makes the juice turn to vapour so you can inhale it... also note that the atomiser is what you could call semi disposable by that i mean that it will need replacing from time to to time but to be honest it is not too expensive., to put it together is very simple most come in 3 bits screw the atomiser into the battery and then put the cart rage on to the atomiser, and yes the battery's are rechargeable it is all a matter of taste the favourite tobacco flavours at the moment are Lambert & butler and golden Virginia BUT if you ask nicely on this forum I am sure some one may possible send some free samples to you so you can decide what to go for. hope this helps a little there is a little more information on my web page please feel free to utilise it ........ PS that was not a plug for the shop chrissy HONEST just for the information ....RAGGY MADE ME DO IT JAMES.

Meant to add that if your mum is going to want as small an e-cig as possible, then the Riva won't be for her. So either a mini DSE901 or a 510 would suit her better.

Do the 'liquid' flavour you buy do their containers fit all makes and models of cigarette then?? Or do you have to buy one certain model and stick to it? And whats a 501, and 901 and 801??

the Liquid comes in bottles that you fill the cartages or you can buy preefilled ones but you are very limited in choice and that option is more expensive in the long run James

Summer, the e-liquid comes in bottles & you can refill any cartridges with any e-liquid.
The 510, 901 & 801 are all model numbers. My photo @ post #5 shows a 901 model. I'll find you some pics of the 510 & 801 .......

Ok, a photo of the 510 : The 901 & 510 are approximately the same length 112 mm. The 801 is a lot longer, it is also known as the penstyle.

One important thing to weigh up between the cheaper normal sized batteries versus an e-cig like the Riva -
The smaller e-cigs (901, 510 etc) that looks most like a cigarette - they do work well, when fully charged. But after about one hour, the power will drop off and the vape/throat hit will not be as good as when it was fully charged. Even though it 'lets you vape' as it still 'lights up' as you dragged on it - This is so frustrating, and in the early days it used to baffle me - as I never knew whether it was the battery that needed charging, or if it was the atomiser on its way out. So i was constantly charging batteries just to be sure.
The Riva - holds its charge right to the very end - there is no drop off in power, the vape/throat hit quality will be with you until the light blinks on the button, telling you to re-charge it. So using a Riva battery is a good indicator of how well your atomiser is performing - if the vape/throat hit is under par, it'll be time to replace the atomiser.

So i was constantly charging batteries just to be sure. And I was also constantly topping up with liquid when it wasn't necessary and flooding my atty - and I still do it It's not funny, actually, but one has to be philosophical scylla
