As I am now a confirmed `vaper`, my sister (Foxy on here) urged me to join the Community. Just a little background; Sis introduced me to E-cigs a couple of months ago & I have a Classic Starter Pack + a 15ml. drip-bottle of 2.4 high-strength `juice`(mint/menthol flavour). I use the above (discreetly) at my local pub & the manager/staff are cool about this......it`s also an advantage not to have to lean out of the window (of my 2nd. floor flat) to enjoy `smoking` at home!. However, I still smoke regular `fags` most of the time, as, at the moment, the electronic unit only provides about 75% of my normal pleasure......not knowing when to put it down is a factor.....thank God I don`t drink at home!). I`m still working-out when simply to add juice to the cartridge & when to wash/dry the fabric `element` & re-soak with fluid. I`ve already signed one petition (on E-cigs site) as I was horrified to discover that my new-found escape-route from the smoking ban may well be short-lived!!. Anyway, I`m now off to explore all the Topics/Posts on the site....& find out how to incorporate cannabis oil into my juice.....only (half) joking LOL! Cheers for now, Nick.

Hello & welcome Nick It's the beauty of the e-cig that it can be used in so many ways. ie giving up/cutting down or just using it where you can't smoke real cigs Very pleased to hear that your "local pub & the manager/staff are cool about" it

Hiya and welcome to the forum. It sounds as though you've started your vaping experience with slightly less nic strength than you need. I started with 38mg strength that I found too strong so dropped to 24 - I'm now using 18 most of the time although it varies depending on the juice I'm using. If you like menthol I would highly recommend Liberty Flight's Menthol Blend 24 strength - it's the nearest I've found to a menthol cigarette rather than tasting like a cold remedy. If you don't like it, you can always give it to me!! Do check out igetcha69's website and You Tube channel - loads of great reviews and codes for discounts. Liberty Flights, for instance, offer 15% with the code ECR69 (from igetcha69). There's loads of info on the forum so fill ya boots! Fox

Hi Penny (sorry) "Foxy"...DOH!
Thanks for the welcome Guys!.... I`ve yet to fully-explore the Forum-content & I`m sure all my queries will be fully-answered therein....(don`t panic Scylla!).
I thought, in my ignorance, that E-cigs 2.4% juices were about max. nicotine content.... this seems fine to me, strengthwise, anyway. It`s just that, after a 3 hour pub-session (where perhaps I`ve gone outside for a couple of real fags & vaped for what would have been the other 2) I find that my (Classic E-cig) needs more & more pulls to get the full `drag`at home in the evening.
I think the battery life is o.k. (I charge on a one-off-one-on basis daily) but 4 or 5 E-juice drops onto a once-or-twice-used cartridge does not to seem enough to last the rest of the day. Maybe someone could advise me how often to wash-out & dry the fabric/ how many times just adding more juice will suffice.....i.e. I`m unsure as to whether the cartridges are truly re-fillable or not.
Regarding flavours, I, like most smokers I meet, don`t particularly like the after-taste of real tobacco & although I`ve never enjoyed menthol fags, the E-cigs "minty menthol" flavour is a distinct improvement over normal & I`m hoping to find a stronger peppermint-flavoured juice which will, maybe, even rid me of the smell & aftertaste of Real Ale.....(`evening Officer)!. .....Ever the optimist, I hear my sister mumbling disapprovingly!.
Anyway, back to the Forums, Nick.

Nick, you need to top up your cartridge far more often than once a day.
The cartridges are very refillable. Eventually though the the stuffing (fabric) starts to get discoloured. I don't bother washing it, I just pull it out & replace it with some Fluval fish tank filter.

Nicko, sorry if I'm repeating myself - I'm at that stage in life which not everyone is privileged to reach The Classic (801) gives more vapour than a lot of other standard models but it is a soft, weak vapour from a very light draw. 901s and 510s generally have more "hit". I think that the stuffing will take a couple or a few more drops than you're putting in - so do experiment a drop at a time. You can squidge the stuffing with pointy tweezers or something like a paper clip commandeered for the purpose, to make sure that the liquid is mixed thru. Regarding the strength of the nicotine, I and others find that it isn't crucial - it's the fullness of the vape down the throat and the flavour that gives satisfaction - so it's fairly easy to cut down. Good luck Nicko scylla

I recommend the Fluval Nick, you can buy it from any aquatic centre if you have such things in your area or, like me, you can buy it as cheap as chips on eBay. You need only a tiny amount to fill a cart (I'd suggest you have a regular cart refilling session so that you always have fresh ones to hand). To learn how to refill your carts, have a look on You Tube, there are loads of clips on there. I top my carts up on a regular basis and just throw the filler away every other day. You can wash and dry the existing filler but it really isn't worth the effort as the Fluval is so inexpensive. A Quick How-To: 1. Cut a strip of Fluval, roll it gently in your fingers until thin enough to pop into the cart. Trim off the excess level with the top of the cart. Remove. 2. Apply fluid to approx three quarters of the way up the cart. 3. Gently push the Fluval into the cart and with a pair of tweezers 'dunk' it down into the fluid, then pull it up to just below the top of the cart. 4. Slowly add drops of juice until the filler will take no more. 5. With a pin, gently poke around in the filler to make sure the juice is evenly distributed then raise the filler level with the top of the cart. 6. Wipe any excess from the cart and you're ready to go. Never throw away any seals that come with the carts as you'll need these to store your filled carts. For topping off, it's a good idea to carry a safety pin around with you as this will be useful for prodding the filler as above. Batteries and atomizers will often start to fail slowly - some of my 901s are now on their last legs. I saved a dying atomizer recently by soaking it in boiling water, blowing it through several times and drying it on a radiator - a kill or cure remedy. My e-cig/PV of choice is the DSE510 with a PCC (portable charging case) so that I have a fully charged battery all the time). It's not the best quality case but it's functional and the only one I've seen into which you simply drop the battery rather than having to fiddle around screwing it in. Check out igetcha69's You Tube review. Do check the prices though as they vary tremendously; some come with discount codes. Enough waffle - if you have any questions at all, please do ask. Fox

Hi Nick Oh my - everyone is so organised and meeeee well .... Umm I vape about 20ml liquid a week . Sort of replace carts every 4 days if I remember, tbh they more often get changed cos I lose them or the filling falls out I never clean them Never clean the atomisers either. I put 2-3 drops liquid on the cart vape 5 - 7 draws and repeat . I carry a janty 10 ml bottle about that I decant about 3ml (2 droppers full ) in to as I require it or before I go out. Got various bottles stashed in drawers - boxes - plastic - bags - pockets .... as I find them I use them Dont think I would ever be organised enough to prefill carts. I did save all the caps and silicon thingies in a box cos I am a hoarder and hate waste. Lady in the US bought the lot Moral of the story throw nuffing away , someone somewhere will need it some day.

Hi Chrissie!
Everything is fine with me; although I`m still smoking regular cigs most of the time. I use my E-cigs Classic when I`m in places when it`s not possible to smoke normally & also (as I mentioned previously) when I`m sunk in an armchair, digesting dinner & watching TV....on the few evenings when I`m not working.
I`ve still not learned, absolutely, just how long a newly-juiced cartridge should last, but I`m estimating something like 6/7 fags-worth......which is around the amount of use my Classic is getting per day. The battery life seems fine for this daily useage.
I guess that relying on these units alone would require a bit more effort, but the absence of tobacco aftertaste, sore throat & occasional coughing.....plus the obvious cash-savings.....should more than compensate for the 25% reduction in `smoking-pleasure` I experience with E-cigs.
Like all of you, I am absolutely outraged that such a sensible alternative to the `weed` is likely to be banned & will do all in my power/ join in all your efforts to prevent this from happening.
My local pub manager actually said to me this lunchtime, that he wished he could sell similar (possibly disposable) units to his customers.......& I had to remind him that, if such a thing took-off & vaping became commonplace in the pub, that he would have the (impossible) task of differentiating between smokers & vapers!.
Naturally, I did not mention the impending ban to him & have also resisted the temptation to make money by selling (or recommending) the equipment to the few customers who have noticed me vaping......I tend to do this very discreetly in any case......as I`ve a sickening feeling that the whole thing is simply too good to last & that he would have to change his viewpoint if any customers complained!.
C`est la vie!
Nick.

I've read that some clubs and pubs do sell the 'disposable' type of e-cigs to their customers. It would be pretty easy to have two signs, one the usual "No Smoking" red circle, and another in green for we 'vapers.' It's not going to happen though. The Consultation Period finishes at the end of May and I reckon that no matter how many responses they've received or how many signatures are on the various petitions doing the rounds, the government will announce a complete ban from June 21st. I also would bet all the paperwork is in place for Trading Standards to move in on the UK vendors. I truly hope I'm wrong. Nick: You said in an earlier post that you weren't sure when to put your e-cig down. The rule of thumb seems to be to treat it as a regular cigarette and take 10 to 15 draws but it would rather depend on the strength of the liquid you're using. It is tempting to use the e-cig like a dummy so it's best to set your own rules! Fox
