He is a German Spitz Mittel, I have 5 of them, I bred this boy, he is 3 now. Do you show them Pam? They are not an easy to get hold of dog, that's why I ask Yes I do show them though not much this year because of work There are a few breeders about but no one with any sense is breeding a lot of litters in this financial climate. In my 14 years in the breed I have bred three litters and all were spoken for before they were born!! If people are willing to get to know a breeder and wait for a bit they can get a very nice well bred healthy pup. One of my puppy buyers waited a year and a half!!! Pam

No, I don't, and only dabbled a bit, have an Australian shepherd, did quite well with jer, qualified etc but and a big but at 18 mths she started developing signs of petite mals, had mot at vets to rule all else out and due to her family history (couple died through epilepsy) they agreed it must be, I withdrew her, best thing I did as far as her health is concerned, bless her. Miss the social events, made some nice friends, I have four, LC GSD pet, BC, and the funniest Shih tzu you could meet, miss it, but love them all as pets may get into it again in future, but for now, just love having them.

He is a German Spitz Mittel Coincidentally, that is what I now have Pam . . . he's a rescue boy, I'm his third home, coming up to 9 he is now. First ' pedigree ' I've ever had, rufty tufty terrier crosses have always been my first love.

Yes, from Holly Hedge Sandra . . . in a bit of a state he was as well, it took a bit of time to get him sorted out. He had the most horrendous Kennel Cough, bad enough to make him vomit when he coughed. And a mouth full of rotten teeth, that the Vet couldn't extract until the cough had gone . . . plus just generally in very poor, uncared for condition. Nobody wanted him, because he was an ' older ' dog.

Nice one Perp how long have you had him? As we are a small number breed we all know each other in the UK. Sadly we do get some to rescue though nothing like other breeds like staffies or BC's, many end up there through no fault of their own, breakups, owner deaths, changes of circumstances etc. In fact only today I heard of someone I know who is having to re-home some of hers, (landlady problems) she lives in Devon. Thanks Sandra. He's a different lad now, I'm happy to report . . . bright as a button, although he's still very clingy, which is to be expected after the turmoil he's had. So I can't leave him for any time really, without him getting extremely distressed, but I'm lucky to have a retired friend who looks after him when I'm working or at things like the Vapefest. And he loves going to my friend, as he gets spoilt rotten.

Pam A few months now Pam, I had to say goodbye to my darling boy Sammy last September, the canine love of my life . . . so I've found it quite hard and still do. This is quite a disclosure from me, I've kept Casper quiet until now, but I had to say something as you've got Spitz's as well.

You certainly have kept that quiet Perps! Sounds like Casper has found a lovely home and how lucky to have a retired dog sitter

Thanks Karma. I just haven't been able to ' come out ' . . . I've found losing Sammy so difficult to deal with, felt like I was being disloyal to him, getting another dog . . . he left a huge hole in my life, I loved him so. But there are so many needing homes, especially the older boys and girls . . . and I do have the time and love to give to a needy furry. I think he's cream Pam, not really sure as I'm not up on the breed at all. I'll find a piccie, you'll probably be able to tell from that, apologies for digressing your thread somewhat as well.
