I've just read your more detailed post on the other forum. it's not widely medically accepted but stopping smoking can trigger Thyroid Disease in some people. Ask the Doc to do full bloods to rule anything like that out. I already have TD and didn't think switching from nasties to vape would have any impact as I was still getting nicotine. Around 3 months after switching I needed an increase in thyroxine. My colleague who introduced me to vaping and has been a vaper herself since last novemnber has just last week been diagnosed with TD

also make sure you drink more fluid to help with the dehydration headaches Hi guys thanks for replying, I do and have always guzzled water as if it's going out of fashion, my hubby quite often comments I'm going to drown, so no probs there, I down about 2 litres before bed too as I am prone to migraines sometimes I get a bit nauseous and a bit dizzy, sort of like I'm stoned a bit and last night had blurred vision, but I am very tired lately too You can get headaches from over-hydration too. Water intoxication: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication"In the brain, this swelling increases intracranial pressure (ICP). It is this increase in pressure which leads to the first observable symptoms of water intoxication: headache, personality changes, changes in behavior, confusion, irritability, and drowsiness. These are sometimes followed by difficulty breathing during exertion, muscle weakness, twitching, or cramping, nausea, vomiting, thirst, and a dulled ability to perceive and interpret sensory information".
"Water, just like any other substance, can be considered a poison when over-consumed in a specific period of time". I very much doubt it's Water Intoxication, but just pointing out that it's easy to over-compensate or compensate the wrong way. Proper diagnosis is what's required - for that we have the NHS. I.

One of the great things about this forum is that questions are not only tolerated but welcomed. We always say there's no such thing as a stupid question. I know that most of us feel we can ask anything about anything, vaping related or not, and we will get superb support. And there are threads galore to prove the point.
However. I do get concerned about medical questions. As far as I'm aware (and I'm happy to be proved wrong) there are no doctors or dentists who are members of the forum. This means that the answers given to these questions can only be based on a) personal experience of a possibly similar issue b) general knowledge c) opinion d) views obtained from other internet sites.
My plea to anyone asking about symptoms is to take the opinions given as just that - opinions - and to seek proper medical advice if any symptoms persist or worsen.

A good tip that was given to me. Instead of diluting your e liquid and losing the flavour, you could mix it with the same quantity of zero nicotine liquid in the same flavour from the same seller, then you'll lose no flavour. If they don't list zero nic, send them an email and ask if they'll make some up for you.

Thanks again guys!
I always bear in mind that these are just opinions from personal experiences and what we've all read! I was waiting for someone to say that no one here is medically qualified and I was bearing that in mind all along!
Just wanted some feedback is all!
Seems the general consensus is most feel it's probably not vaping related, sure hope so!
The headaches may be but the the spine pain remains a mystery! I was a bit concerned about the lactose causing lactid acid build up - this is a medical fact, and I know my GP would also NOT be qualified on this matter - as all GPs are just that General Practitioners!
As someone on this forum or UKV has said most GPs don't know a lot about vaping and may say come off it, just as aside!
I just wish I could get a lactic acid test! I've had all the usual full range of tests done already Thyroid, liver etc etc, the only one I'm waiting for is glucose!
It's just I never had back pain in my life and was always working out and hoped that stopping smoking would increase my lung capacity or at least my heart function, but now I can't exercise without dreading the repercussions. Believe me folks I'm not stupid! Just being thorough, as I want this to go away, I don't want to think I've got osteo or arthritis or worse, I'm only in my mid 40s and this has been so sudden. I feel suddenly old and decrepit and it's getting me down!
I never really had smoking related illness (yet) stopped before it could cause too much damage, only smoked for 6 years at approx 10 a day, but seeing my Mum die of horrific lung Cancer I stopped! I still have the odd one, when I say that I mean it can be one or two a week, just to prove the point to myself that I prefer vaping! The only thing I miss is the camaraderie, but I know vaping whatever the risks they don't know yet, can't be as bad as the damage from cigarettes!
Kind wishes to all Jules

RE: Is vaping making me ill?
To everyone who has contributed to my original post - many thanks!
I'm still in the dark, but off tomorrow to see a specialist, my doc was so good when I complained a 2nd time he's got me to see some private Chiropractitioner or something!
Booked in tomorrow to get a physical check but don't know if I should mention my suspected lactose build up due to the glycerine or not! Will they even know that vaping can cause lactic acid build up??? Will they just say "stop it" then for the hell of it?
I really hope it's definitely proved not to be vaping causing these aches and pains but on the other hnd I don't want some debilitating condition either wish me luck - Jules

Good luck tomorrow Jules.
If you grind or clench your teeth at night this can cause tightness in the jaw which can lead to headaches & neck pain & back pain. Might be worth discussing with your dentist whether you might benefit from a night time gum shield. My cranial osteopath noticed a marked reduction of the tension in my jaw hinges after a few days of use.
Finally, if your thyroid function showed normal, ask your GP whether there were any thyroid antibodies. My TFTs were normal even though I presented classic overactive thyroid symptoms & had a lump but there were antibodies signifying there had been a problem. A cell biopsy wasn't able to determine whether or not the lump was benign, so half the thyroid was removed & it was a rare cancer, so the rest of the thyroid was removed. I don't miss the pesky gland but I'll be glad when the thyroxine dosage is right & I get the all clear, hopefully on Monday.

Thanks folks, feel much better that my GP actually did something this time! The clinic got me to move my neck and head different ways! They said theres a lot of knotting and tightness in my back and neck but cant say what caused it!
I am booked in for physio therapy so we'll see if that helps!
And to CLUTTER, I don't grind my teeth as far as I know, I do a few other weird things in my sleep tho;) but never been told I grind them! My mother was terrible for that though, sounded creepy! I think my daughter did it too when she was little!
A bit scary regarding the thyroid, I was borderline low for a while and now it seems normal on my tests, so don't really know, don't think I'll pester doc asking about anti-bodies as he prob already thinks I'm a hyperchondriac lol!
Thanks to all who were concerned and if anyone suffers with this, pm me, cheers Jules

Jules, glad you're feeling a bit better Thyroid 'normal' results fall within a ranged determined by the lab & can vary from lab to lab. Lab 'normal' may not be 'Jules' normal. Your GP sounds like a good 'un & is unlikely to object to your questions.
