Right folks, I have been vaping for about three months now and I am still using the SD MK2 I started with, I know it’s quite a basic device but it got me started and is cheap to run. The only problem is the switch I wear overalls most of the time and it will always end up sliding down my pocket and lay horizontally and then a movement can make the button depress and pocket on fire again, I know you can loosen the atti but I find that method drives me nuts, I have tried using another spring so that more pressure would be needed to activate it accidentally or not! But with limited success, and I also tried using two SD springs together, but not really happy with that idea either, so I have been looking round to see what could be done, with option one. Go for something like the pure smoker, but that’s a bit expensive right now, the other model I Liked was the Janty stick V3 but sadly no locking button.
So if you can suggest a reasonably priced PV that has a locking switch or some mod e.g. a locking switch for the SDmk 2 or something to stop that bloody switch accidentally activating please let me know.
Thanks, Dave

I'd completely agree with Chris . . . having had the same 'issue' with the SDII Kos, the GGTB is really a much safer option with the easily locked/unlocked button.

Kos, if anything happens that you can't get a new locking-button type soon... I have a Screwdriver MkI, which has a tiny hole to thread a lanyard thru at the button end. With a neck lanyard, the SD hangs button-upwards, so it's extremely unlikely that it would get activated thru movement. If I'm going to be bending over - like when cleaning the lav fer instance - I pop the SD down inside my T-shirt/whatever, which prevents it swinging around. I bought incredibly cheap neck lanyards from eBay, they're on rather thin ribbons, you can find better. Just a thought, it might give your SD a new lease of life scylla

kos, you should have had a button cover with your mk2, its only the mk1s that dont have one. personally i think i prefer the cover to a lock (never had anything with a lock), at least the cover cant break. raggy....

Thanks for your help folks, Chrissie, can you use 510 attis with the GGTB? I have had the cap with my SD but it broke, I brought another through TW and it Didn't fit well it would slide off, I have also seen the using a 3ml bottle cut off to fit, but none of these ideas float my boat so I will prob go for another PV like the GGTB or something like it. Also I cant have things hanging around my neck as I use a lot of different machines so I don't even wear rings or jewelery after nearly losing a finger some years ago. I really wish all the PV makers would add a locking button or another switch when they design their PVs. Dave

The GGTB comes threaded with a 901 fitting Kos, but works just as a happily with a 901/510 adaptor.

Kos, as Perpy says, the GGTB comes with a 901 fitting - the adapters to change it to 510 ore cheap, but if you go for it - try out a LR901 attie first. IMHO they are the bees knees - good throat hit with far more flavour than 510's.

I would have recommended the Mako midi, which is more pocketable and with the locking button on the bottom, less likely to catch on stuff, but there's none in stock, and hasn't been for ages... the GGTB is a great price too, not much dearer than a Riva.. Altho i use both 901's & 510 atties, i have to say i agree with Chrissie in preferring the 901 will have to try an LR901 sometime...lol
