How many people have quit smoking using e-cigs and then quit vaping leaving themselves non-nicotine-dependant. This I presume is a difficult question to find the answer to as most people that have quit vaping, I would assume, no longer frequent these rooms? I'm six weeks analogue free..... get in

I thought I had cracked it when I had been vaping Organic no nic juice for 2 days and loved it, then I started getting irritable and wanting a fag, I am glad I had some 'Old Holborn' left as that satisfied my urge. Will keep trying though...if at first you don't succeed.....

Well I guess you could ask who intends to give up vaping, or at least who intends to go nicotine free.
I'd suggest it was a low percentage either way. I intended for vaping to be a temporary measure towards quitting smoking. But I do wish to reach zero nicotine, now I'm not sure if I wish to quit vaping though. I enjoy it. And to give you some idea, I occasionally meet people, non smokers, and when they see me vaping and they speak to me, they think its really good. On more than one occasion non smokers have said to me that would wish to try it. But its only when I say no, theres nicotine in here, there not so eager.
So I do look upon vaping as a slight cheat I guess. Its not quitting nicotine, but then again I know ex smokers who have been on gum for several years. And I enjoy vaping!

I am on zero nic. Have been for most of the time since I stopped smoking my pipe & cigars, no problems just love all the different flavours available.

Nice tom, I was on 60 a day, must be approaching 3 months ago now. I quit the moment I started vaping and I've knocked it down to 12mg juice in that time. And been on 12 for a few weeks I guess. I'm probably gonna go for 6mg next month and see how I get on. But abit too soon to go further for me just yet. If I do get to zero the way things have gone do far, i can honestly say quitting has been bloody enjoyable as opposed to hard work!

Tom that's impressive and jayjay down to 12mg in 3 months a hearty congrats to you. I'm only down to 24mg at the moment. I guess the reason I asked is because I also love the vaping thing and am now finding it difficult to see a time when I'm nicotine free, although that was my original intention. Maybe I'm being a bit self critical, I've quit smoking and gone from 36mg to 24mg in six weeks. If it takes a year to get to get nic-free that would be no bad thing.

I'm with oneday - Nicotine is pretty harmless and enjoyable - "cut down to quit" is a medical thing, so definitely not for me.

Viola, I'd suggest not looking at it with too much of a conflict. My advice, stay focused, but your ahead already. If I were to remain on 12 mg and had any issues dropping further, 12mg is were I shall remain. I wont be disappointed. But whilst things are this simple I'll continue to drop down the nicotine level slowly.

For a while now I've been on James' no nic menthol and am happy with that. But I don't want to give up my e-cig - I wouldn't know what to do with my hands! MMa

Just this morning I took delivery of two bottles of 12mg juice and one 6mg, I quit smoking in May this year after using the ecig for 3 years but still having analogues as well as, I started out on 36mg in May then down to 24mg, didn't notice any difference really so I am hoping fingers crossed that the 12mg will still keep me happy and not craving a ciggie, but if I find I can't cope with the lesser nic then that's no problem I will just go back to 24mg and try again later . I'm 6 week analogue free using e-cigs.
Used to smoke 20 analogues a day, switched over to e-cigs at 12mg, which was probably a bit too low tbh as I went through a form of withdrawal and have gradually cut down my nic strength since - currently at 2mg. Took delivery of my zero nic juice today, and intend to be fully nicotine free within a couple of weeks. After that - I don't know. Hopefully I'll stop vaping on a daily basis, but perhaps still have nic free to hand for bad days/stressful moments. Maybe it will take a while to drop the "habit" part of it, even once I've dropped the nic. All I know is that I've come so far with the help of vaping, and a healthier smoke free future is on the cards for me. I will never smoke an analogue again, never - of that I'm sure.

There's some inspiring responses here. I love the stories we all have and the different attitudes towards nicotine. I suppose really it's the stories which are inspiring and have the knock on effect of in some way being supportive. I can't believe how easy it's been so far, when I think of all the struggling failed attempts I've made previously this has been a breeze, so what's the catch? ha there's gotta be one somewhere just started making my first mod so maybe that will be my catch, hours of fiddling!!!
