The mains/usb adaptor that I am using to charge my eGo-C batteries, actually come with my original Skycig Kit, but I am beginning to suspect that it is underpowered for the job.
It says it haas an Input of 100-240V 50/60Hz 0.15A and an Output of DC 5V 0.5A
The mains/usb adaptors on th VE website are Input 240V 100mA and output of 5V
Would I be better off going for the VE mains adaptor or is there no difference?

In this case I think there will be no difference, Skycig output is 0.5A or 500 mA, the one from VE should be a minimum output of 500 mA as this is the standard USB current. If you used a adaptor of a higher current, the circuitry in the Ego charger lead will limit the input current any way. What would make a difference is if the output of an adaptor was lower than 500 mA and the difference would be that your battery would take longer to charge, it would still charge though, eventually.

Thanks DiscoDes.
I wonder why most adverts say that the eGo-C type battery will recharge in 4 hours when in fact, most of the ones I have (4) now take 10+ hours to recharge? These times are through both the USB charger used both from a PC and through the Mains.

I have two usb chargers for my two 900 mah egos, one is from an old kit (output 200 mA) which were only 280 mah batteries and could not be used with my higher powered charger that came with my first iMist ego (output 420 mA),the first charger will take a long time, several hours to charge run down 900 mah batteries, the second will do it in a few hours,I rarely let the batteries reach flat though.

I guess then that the 420mA charger is the best I'm going to get. I am very disappointed in the charging times required for these batteries. No wonder so many folks are going for LTs and Provaris.

Lobey, there's something wrong here, the charger you got from Vape Escape shouldn't take 10 hours to charge an Ego-C through the mains, or were you still talking about the skycig charger? The Riva/Ego chargers DO take 3-4 hours to charge from completely flat on mains. If that isn't the case, your charger may be faulty

The skycig charger will not charge an eGo battery. Its a different fitting. The Skycig part that I was using is the mains/usb plug only.
I have two usb chargers that I use on the eGo batteries and both will take 8 to 10 hours to charge an eGo battery from flat. It makes no difference whether I am doing it through the PC or through the mains/usb plug.
I have 3 eGo-C type batteries and one eGo twist VV battery. They all take overlong to charge from flat. I guess I will just have to keep them all half full and keep two on charge at all times and carry a spare at all times. A bit of a waste, but I have no choice.

No Lobey, you don't have to do that, you could buy another charger for £5 or drop Jason an email

Hi Ellen, I buy all my stuff from Jason. The first charger came with my Vision 1000 kit about 6 weeks ago. The second one I got just over a week ago, so they are both fairly new as are one of the eGo batteries and the Twist VV. I rotate the eGo's all the time and keep the twist just for evening use, so instead of trying to use an ego for 8 hours, I will cut that to one in the mornings and one for the afternoons, keeping one spare just in case. Really I just wanted to know if there was a charger that would charge these batteries in the 4 hours that is advertised on the eGo batteries web pages, but I see that some others have the same problems charging these batteries. I can certainly get a plug that would give me more oomph, www.maplin.co.uk/compact-twin-usb-2.1a-power-supply-562310but there does not appear to be any chargers for eGo batteries that are ano more powerful than what I already have.

Ah ok, just didn't want you to spend so much time charging each battery for so long, that would take your electric bills above the value of the chargers eventually, hopefully you can find a way around it

Well looks like you have tried everything as you have the higher powered charger,on the other things you mentioned about mods and batteries,my mini lavatube 18350 battery charges from dead in around 3-4 hours, less if I dont let it die,it is only 700 mah but seems to have plenty of power being a AW battery, the xtar charger is really versatile too,so getting this combination of LT AW battery and XTar charger was a good investment,I just need pay day to arrive to get a second 18350 and all the other bits I want
